  • I was excited to check out this new Titan. I haven't spent a lot of time in diesel pickups so I wanted to know what all the fuss was about...the fact that this was the top of the line Platinum Reserve model didn't hurt either!
    As always expect a unscripted, amateur review that you as a consumer can appreciate.
    Thanks for watching.

    Nice i have an XD Pro-4X out in Edgewood NM, Absolutely love it! Tow 2-3 horses and 6 big bails in the bed with ease. Best value in my opinion by far!

    I think that the new Titan has influence from Ram, Ford, and GM. It's not a bad looking truck and will definitely have a place in the market. I'm not a Nissan guy, but I'm looking forward to seeing these on the road. I do believe it will be a just like it was for the redesigned F-150. It might just be my location, but it was a few months before I started seeing them on the roads and not at the dealerships.

    Well you were a bit off with the “they won’t have a problem selling them” Cummins edition is gone now. I love mine, it’s nice having something different than every other truck in the lot, runs good, looks good 👍

    I test drove a tian and the salesman said there will be no discounts on these. My 2015 ram 2500 slt with a cummins, was nicely equipped and stickered at $57,800. I paid $49,000 after discounts. When I built a equally equipped titan i was at $52,000 So i believe they may have dropped the ball on pricing. The only thing the nissan did better then my ram was ride smoother, but it also can't tow 17.500 lbs so there's a trade off. To add I can get 20-21 mpg on the high driving under 70 mph. 14-15 around town with a average of 16-17 mpg. So i decided it wasn't worth the trade. Nice truck but to heavy for its capabilities, mpg are to low and they pricing is to high beings that they will not do any discounts. Maybe after the 2017's come out it they will discount them

      I know lol, I said the only thing it did was ride better and it's only only empty. With my trailer or a load the ride is actually really good in my ram with the coil springs. But yes the ride is stiff unloaded. Plus with coils my rear doesn't skip around in turns with bumps

      @killabandit Před 7 lety

      Gabriel Iannozzi they are already taking 12-14k off. Way cheaper than the big 3.

    Great review! As well as the acceleration issues you had, I test drove the new Titan about 2 hours ago and had the same issue and a few more. Now idk what was causing this, but I noticed it took a lot of effort to accelerate, but it would also hop a bit. I checked to see if the parking brake was on, and it wasn't. I explained it to the salesman and he didn't know. Overall it made acceleration a bit scary, and I just ended the test drive within a block and a half. Another issue I had was the drivers position is not good for someone of my height, 6"4. The seat wouldn't lower enough to where I could clearly see out the windshield and the curve in the windshield blocked so much visibility due to the slope at the top of the glass and I just felt closed in and didn't feel very comfortable. Blind Spots are also very bad in the truck, and no matter how much I adjusted the mirrors, the passenger mirror just did not give a good view and didn't make me feel comfortable changing lanes. I drive a late SUV, a large truck... and a Volvo station wagon... so I know how to drive big vehicles, but this was something I will not buy. I was looking forward to the test drive though :(

    I drove one of these and was super impressed. It drove real nice, and as as a Nissan Owner I can attest, in five years it will still drive great unlike the slop you get in the steering of the "domestic" counterparts. It's a solid truck. Copied or not, Nissan really did their homework and like it or not, they put effort into this truck and imo did a much better job than the competition who basically "restyle" their front ends but do nothing for ergonomics.

    Nissan Titan XD has problems with driveshaft. The problem is caused by a "resonance frequency" that occurs at speeds above 75 mph. Vibrations caused by a condition that occurs in the power train systems at speeds above 75 mph and continued operation causes the transmission and driveshaft components to fracture. The problem is unnoticeable until it causes damages and the truck quits moving while driving. Also, truck can roll away if parked without the parking brake engaged.

    very informative. my personal favorite is the GMC sierra. I have question about the 2014, 2015, and 2016 GMC Sierra SLT models. What are the major differences you noticed on the models. I'm trying to get one at the end of the year and was wondering if I should spend the extra cash on the newer models or try to find a 14/15 SLT with lower mileage. I'll definitely be keeping whatever model I do get until it blows up lol so just FYI.

    I don't understand why everyone says Nissan copied Ford on the design. Nissan introduced the F-Alpha platform in 2012-2013, production in 2014 (Titan). 2014 Ford F-150 sure looked a lot like the Nissan.

    Good review! In addition to Ford, it looks like Nissan borrowed heavily from Ram. Ram has the fold out platform under the rear seats and cargo boxes built into the sides of the bed. Overall I think Nissan missed the mark on the timing of the Titan. The Frontier hasn't changed in 11 years and needs an update BAD. Nissan could have came out with a "lighter duty" version of the Titan first, updated the Frontier, then released the Titan XD.

      Gallup Journey Test Drives Thanks for making the video! Still feel like nissan missed the mark though. I think the half ton truck buyer willing to put out the extra dime for a diesel will want fuel economy that is better than the gasoline competition to support their purchase.
