When I was on carnivore I eat too much fat and I had so much energy that I struggled to sleep at night. I changed to more protein instead and that fixed the problem.

Protein & fats fill you up without the bloated feeling you get when eating carbs. I am a teacher on summer vacation right now, so I eat a big breakfast-four eggs, sausage, and bacon with coffee. I find that keeps me satiated until dinner time. When I ate lighter breakfasts-two eggs, one slice bacon, and coffee, I found I was so hungry at lunchtime I overate.

In the last 2.5 months I have lost 20lbs! And still losing! All because I went down to one or two meals a day depending then fasting the other time. Then went from low carb/low sugar to mostly carnivore diet with butter and lard. No exercise besides my normal around the house work. With pcos I am shocked, thought Id be stuck forever! It has been a blessing!

I’m 61 and never been a dieter. For several reasons, i started June 8th with the goal of loosing 20 to 25 pounds…I’m down 14 pounds…definitely losing in arms breasts and hips. I can fit in most of my clothes again! The fat explanation has helped as I’m finding it hard to stay within my macro limits and amp up the protein to even it out. I’ve always retained water and had digestive issues. Nature path said I had extreme case of metabolic syndrome so I’ve slowly changed to a more healthier diet before trying keto. I feel great….I just need more protein ideas that are a little less fat.

Yes, you can eat too much fat but it takes effort, I know because I did it. I was eating tons of butter and yogurt, and basically I ran out of bile, I had white 💩 lol. I found some ox bile at a near by store, and it helped. I stopped eating fat for a few days and I went back to normal. I was basically living on yogurt, cheese and butter. It's totally possible to OD on fat.
Edit: BTW I have been carnivore for 2 years now, this experience happened a few months ago. The carnivore diet saved my life, and I still eat dairy every day.

    Hi kait.
Just come across your chanel now.
    I am 37years old, 6ft 2, 166lbs.
I am a window cleaner and very active.
I want to try the keto diet because of all the great benefits keto coaches are explaining.
I've been trying to get myself through the day with sugar for years and I just feel tired all the time.
However I'm worried that I am going to loose weight and I already feel like I'm underweight.
I have been trying to put on weight for years but I can never seem to.
What's your advice on how much fat and protein I need on keto diet please Kait?
I'm hoping this could finally be the diet to make me feel good and put on healthy weight gain.
Thanks for the interesting video. I've only recently come across keto and I'm keen to explore more 😁🙏👍💪

How does the protein to fat ratio/amount you eat to keep you satiated so that you don't eat too much fat work if the type/amount of protein you eat is also high in fat? For example Ribeye/Prime Rib Steaks, chicken thighs or drumsticks, pork shoulder, lamb leg, or shoulder, whole eggs, etc - all of which TASTE much better than their leaner counterparts?
Like a 10 Oz Ribeye might contain 50 grams of protein, but also 70 grams of fat. That's approximately 830 calories. Eat 4 Ribeyes a day to get 200 grams of protein (for 1 gram of protein per lbs of body weight for a 200 lbs man), and that's over 3300 calories a day on protein/fat a day.
I get you could eat leaner sources of protein, but again they do not taste nearly as good. So would this cause a person who wants to lose bodyfat to actually be eating too much fat?

do you have a recommendation for grams of polyunsaturated fat to stay under? i know the idea is keep them as low as possible, but is there a recommendation for what amount to stay under, like 5 grams per day or something? Same with mono and saturated. I am trying to meet my protein goals, which is really hard for me unless i eat more meat, which maybe i need to start doing. but i do want to make sure i am not eating excessive amounts of fat on days i don't consume enough protein. Thanks!

I been living this lifestyle for a little over two weeks now. I am loving the benefits. There have been some undesirable symptoms ,though. I am dealing with those. I’m a bit confused . I listen to other people on the internet who say limit carbs to 20 grams per day. They also put a limit on vegetables. Like you can only have 2 cups of salad greens and one cup of cooked veg. I find this to be very difficult. I love vegetables! They also say “no” to fruit. I’m asking this with respect for your work. I’m not trying to argue; I just want to know what I should eat. I'm not so sure that a specific protein/fat ratio is all that important. I started an atkins diet 30 years ago allowing myself 12 carbs per day. I have never kept track of protein or fats. I try not to eat excessive amounts of protein at meals keeping servings around 6 oz. for many meats and seafoods. I do eat eggs and pork for my breakfasts, lunch I may skip or I might eat some sardines or tuna or a simple chunk of cheese. Dinner is always a meat or seafood and two half cup servings of low carb fresh vegetables. I do try to do much of my cooking in butter rather than oil and I often add bacon fat to greens or green beans to give them more flavor and fats. So I'm basically unburdened by the constraints of a keto style low carb diet. At 74 my energy levels seem to be better than that of most people my age I know.

Exercise is good for our health but plays only a very small role in losing and maintaining weight. Nutrition is key!

I just wanted to say that I’ve lost 40 pounds after discovering your channel! I used to struggle to walk a mile, but now I can walk 12 in a day and feel fine. Thanks for all that you do, Kait!

saw a fung video where he said a person can eat 5,000 calories of fat and not gain weight. that always tricks me into eating a full jar of avocado oil mayonnaise mixed with pecans. i don't know how anybody can say fats are filling. least filling food ever imo

Honestly, you can eat too much fat on keto. Like someone eats 20gcals and goes keto is bs... It's still cals in and out, if you eat way too much cals you will get fat, and fat is the most energy dense thing in nature :)

I think anyone who has ever lost a ton of weight on keto will tell you that keto is proof that it is NOT cals in and cals out. It's true Fat is the most energy dense thing in nature, which is you don't go on a binge when eating keto. I can only handle so much butter with a piece of bread made of fat head dough, for example, but I can eat a whole stick of butter if you gave me a freshly baked baguette.

@@patricklow5652 Look, I'm in to pwerlifting and stuff, but eating too much cals gets me fluffy, there's just not a way around, keto is not a magick formula where one can eat the hell he wants...
