Mostly clean everyday. I'm insulin resistant and morbidly obese. I'm mostly leaning towards carnivore but some days, I'm ketovore. Been doing this for about 6 weeks and I feel so much better physically. Tracking my glucose and ketones, I see that right now, I can't handle berries well yet, and staying away from all the almond flour heavy keto desserts.

I went from SAD to “dirty” keto, because I thought It would be an easier transition for me. For example, I went from regular soda (SAD), to diet soda(start of keto phase) to lacroix (plain) to just plain water. Lots of people give up their new diet within the week because they’re so used to their favorite carb-sugar heavy foods. If you transition to dirty keto, you can still have things like cake and chips (low carb versions of course), and it’ll help you stay longer and more committed on the diet and wean you off the usual carb-sugary stuff, then as you get deeper into the diet you start to look for cleaner options. So yea, I really liked your points in this video, you definitely hit the nail on the head.

I agree - saying that all foods are ok in moderation is VERY dangerous to carbohydrate addicts like me. We can't just have a piece of cake at a birthday party and be fine. Abstinence is really the only option.

For the past year, I have been participating as a patient in the Virta Health program. One of the mottos I picked up is "100% commitment is easier than 98%". If I tell myself I can have something in moderation, all bets are off. If I just take it off the table, it's actually easier for me. There is a TED Talk explaining this idea. czcams.com/video/vj-91dMvQQo/video.html Hope that's ok to share Kait!

Hey Kyle, can you move away? 😆 Just kidding. Not funny, but in my opinion - your family should also support you and eat healthy foods. In the end they will only get healthier too. Once they also adapt, they won’t miss the junkfoods. The crappy processed carbs and sugars are behind every sickness and symptom, even for kids. Okay, just wanted to point that out. Good Luck to you, just think about how great you feel. And maybe get out if the house as much as you can if they‘re eating junkfoods.

I get it Kyle. My hubby still eats a SAD diet & at first, it was tough to stay away from the chips, cookies & queso that fill his meals. One year in, I don't even miss that stuff. I'm even thinking of doing carnivore for a couple months to see what might happen. I have to wait until garden season is over. He works hard to grow an amazing low carb garden, so I want to partake. I give the rest away or freeze it. Keep up the great work.

At the 3.30 mark, you hit upon the dirtiest way to go on keto: with guilt and self-loathing. I've gone on so many two-day binges just because I felt guilty over eating one mouthful of refined carbs at a party. Speaking from experience, once you work on your self-esteem, you CAN have your cake at a party and still not fall off the wagon.

I consider "dirty" keto to be a judgmental term and to present keto as being either "dirty" or "clean" is a mistake. People should do keto the best they can and then advance from there as they can. I do keto and that's it. I have done it the best I can and have enjoyed both weight loss and great health benefits not the least of no longer having a severe fatty liver.
I am retired and poor and depend a great deal on food banks to get the food I need. I can't go there and demand they give me grass fed beef or the best quality keto products. Frankly I am fortunate that when I go to the drive-up window and ask for just meat I am asked what I would prefer rather than being given a pre-made box of all sorts of things I can't eat on any kind of keto diet.
So frankly I'm offended by this "dirty" or "clean" keto designation.

Clean keto is not sustainable for me based on time and money. So for me dirty keto it is. And I honestly have no issues with artificial sweeteners. If I give up everything I love, I'm just going to give up on the diet. And what good would that do me? And to be honest, I've found nothing but great success on dirty keto. A1C dropped from 7.6 to 5.1. I've dropped 56lbs so far. Blood pressure went down to normal ranges. Cholesterol went down normal ranges. All blood work is normal across the board. I've seen vast improvements with my arthritis and knee pain. I'm 43 years old and I did a number on my body eating the standard American diet. And by overeating. I do incorporate aspects of clean keto when when it's possible, and use fresh ingredients in much of what I cook, but I'm not overpaying for organic products. I would go organic more if I could, but it's not my fault the organic market industry has decided it's ok to take advantage of said market and overprice their food. There is no reason why a product should cost more just because it comes from a grass fed cow. With that said, proof is in the results. My health has drastically improved on a dirty keto diet.

@@MsGechi77 Cholesterol is a worthless health-marker. Triglycerides drop precipitously with low-carb, HDL naturally rises with meat (saturated-fat) consumption/exercise and although statistically a high LDL is associated with lower-cause-mortality, it's not definitive. If you're not convinced and still concerned, have your doctor run a 'cholesterol fractionation' (blood sample in centrifuge) so they can inform you whether your cholesterol is pattern-A (large and not artery-clogging) or pattern-B (small, dense artery-clogging). Pattern-B is caused by inflammation and hyperinsulinemia.
Worthwhile tests are C-Peptide (pancreas insulin efficiency and how much insulin resides in the bloodstream) and CAC (coronary arterial calcium score, best result = zero)

I have tried but cannot do potatos, doughnuts, candy, bread,, cake, Tim-Tams in moderation. I will eat them all and still want more. So I have cut them out completely and have managed to lose 12 lbs so far. When I tried "everything" but in moderation, I'd gain weight or end up bindging on chips and sweets because I canoot stay away from them if they are in the house. So they are not allowed anywhere near me. Clean keto is best for me, but sometimes I "cheat" with dirty keto. Not that often though.

You talk a LOT about Keto for weight loss on your channel, but what about keto for those who aren't in this to lose weight? I have severe reactions to carbs, so follow Keto instead to save myself what I call "pain days". What foods are best for that? You see, I am having a severe issue lately, I can see my ribs, all of them!!! I got protein powder to add to my food, which should help, but what else should I be doing that I am clearly not doing right? How do I use keto and NOT lose weight on it?

In answer to your question, no beef isn't bad for those who eat it, but listening to your love letters to it in seemingly every.....single..... video makes me want to stick my head in a loaf of white bread followed by a box of glazed doughnuts. We get it, you'd jump a farmers fence brandishing a knife and stab a cow to death just to eat its face off like a rabid keto Hannibal Lecter, but OTHER animals can be enjoyed on keto too. How about a love letter video about the humble chicken, pig, or sheep, or maybe go maverick and do insects (unless it's gross). And maybe cover the pescatarians, best to worse fish on keto or tinned vs fresh...you know just some ideas.
