    Once i cut down carbs
i started having good energy all day and still be able train (cardio and strength) 5x a week. Triglycerides from 188 to 61
blood pressure stays in the 120/70 range, lost 30 pounds and I sleep better. It really has me feeling better at 37 than i have at any point in my life!

100 % INCORRECT!! I am a nutritious since 2003 after a diagnosis of coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure., from a weight lifter, steak and eggs, heavy meat no rabbit food diet. Instead of the proposed heart surgery I went back to college for nutritional science, and reversed my diseases without surgery using supplements and COMPLEX CARBOHYDRATE CENTRED MEDITERRANEAN WAY OF EATING, and exercises. 2005 coronary artery disease completely reversed not a sign of blockage anywhere, type 2 diabetes reversed, blood pressure normal. 2024 Latest blood test PERFECT. That is not a few pseudoscience articles, radical diet hopping, that is 20 years of disease free, healthy as a horse complex carbohydrate eating bliss.

I have been on Keto for a year- off and on getting frustrated without successes. Recently ai have got a Keto tester. It would appear that my frustration was warranted. I cannot seem to get my glucose down no matter how strict I am. My levels always elevated to 6-7.8 after meals even if they are completely carb free. Fasting blood sugar never gets lower than 5, usually 5.5 or higher. My highest keto level has been 1.7 and the next time I ate a Keto meal, it of course booted me out. I measure 1 1/2hrs to 2 hrs after. It’s so frustrating.

Sorry but not true, at least for me. Every time I've done the Keto diet (50 grams or less carbs) I get restless legs so bad they go nonstop 24 hours a day. I even added electrolytes, hydrogen water, extra iron and magnesium in addtion to Mirapex. When you can't sleep for 3 days you feel like you're loosing your mind. I wish I could do Keto, I really want it to work.

Yep. There are essential fatty acids and essential amino acids, but there are no essential carbs. I'm fine eating some, but I do find that for weight management and metabolic health I do better if I keep them to a small fraction of my calories, especially sugar and grains. As a side bonus, the reflux that became a regular occurrence in my late 30s and early 40s is now exceedingly rare. I presume that's because the more satiating meals (protein/fat) reduce overconsumption

It is not 100% but to ‘help’ stop starchy carbohydrate food like Rice from transitioning to fatty liver & body fat (Rice - glucose ~ fat) and also help stop Rice from spiking blood glucose. ~~Is to first cook the Rice then cool refrigerate (or freeze) it for at least 12 hours then reheat the Rice. ~~This cooling procedure changes (converts) the Rice (retrogradation) to a much healthier “Resistant Starch” with less fat weight gain and less blood glucose spikes. Reheating Rice back up again does not reverse this procedure. ~Retrogradation of starch is a reaction that takes place when the amylose and amylopectin chains in cooked gelatinized starch realign themselves as the cooked starch “cools”. ~Also (after rinsing Rice) to add another procedure to that. Some say to even help the Rice create even more “Resistant Starch”, is to cook Rice with a “ratio” of 1 teaspoon of Coconut Oil for every 1/2 cup of raw Rice.

Great video Kait. So true that we don't really need carbs. I think the vast majority of people can reduce or even eliminate any inflammatory issues they have by eliminating processed foods, added sugar, grains and seed oils from their diets. Again eating whole foods. Animal based foods should be the major portion of a persons diet with vegetables and fruit as a side. May I further this by saying everyone should be eating a good portion of their vegetables as a ferment, just like our grand parents did.

We also need to keep in mind is multiple people have become Type-2 diabetic when consuming zero carbs, or being on extreme keto. I have heard 3 different doctors mention having patients who had this happen. Also, even if non-essential, having a few complex carbs (not sugar or other simple carbs) each day will add just a bit of energy to our activities which will allow us to walk just a bit faster, not be as tired, or build a little more muscle when we work out. This also comes from the endocrinologists I have been following for the last 30+ years. One of which is one of the pioneers of the low-carb movement so many of us are part of today.

These were individual doctors who had patients whose A1C became elevated after they put them on zero carb diets. Might not be any literature out there for the public to see. The way they explained it, it was like their body was doing the dawn effect all the time, not just in the morning like it does to the rest of us. It isn't very common, but it can happen. I did see by the time I had finished typing that we agreed about eating some carbs, even if they aren't essential. 2 years ago, my A1C was 14.1. Today, it is under 6, even though I eat about 75-100g of complex carbs per day. Of course, that is also with the 150-200g of protien and who knows how much fat. I tried zero carb, and I felt sleepy all the time and felt exhausted after even a short walk. Now I go on 2 hour hikes, and the only time I feel sleepy during the day is if I don't get enough sleep at night.

The first time about 1/3 of my hair fell out, I was 20. I had a hysterectomy at 30 due to fibroids. I’ve had ~22 massive hemorrhagic ovarian cysts since. I’ve always been cold and had slow heart rate. About 1/3 of my hair has fallen out cyclically for almost 30 years. Super dry skin. Terrible blood sugar, even with paleo diet and tons of exercise. If only I had known this 35 years ago
I tried 3 drops of lugol’s recently and it made me sick so I took a break for a while, ate seaweed and salmon, used sole water, and will try having one drop once or twice a week to start.
