Hey guys, it's Charlotte here, and today we're talking about spoiled rich kids getting hit with the real world.
We all know those kids who seem to have everything handed to them on a silver platter - designer clothes, exotic vacations, and the latest gadgets. But what happens when they're forced to face the challenges of the real world?
In this video, we're going to take a look at some real-life examples of spoiled rich kids who had a reality check. From trust fund babies who had to start working for a living, to entitled teens who learned the hard way that money can't buy everything.
We'll also explore the psychological effects of growing up privileged, and how it can hinder one's ability to cope with adversity.
So if you're ready to see some spoiled brats get a dose of reality, hit that play button and let's dive in. Don't forget to leave a comment below and let me know what you think about the topic. Thanks for watching!

I asked for a necklace for my 13th and dad got me a ceiling fan 😐 when we moved 6 years later I made him take it down and bring it to the new house where i made him install it in my new room because it was a bday gift after all it was not staying in the house for someone else…he learned his lesson and never gave any of us weird gifts again so now I just laugh over it 🤭

I have one biological daughter and she has always been precocious. She has also always been remarkably easy to raise.
Her tantrum stage was delayed, though. Around five she decided on a tantrum test drive.
When we were both calm again, we sat down to talk. I explained that this was not the way people get what they want and as a reminder, in future if she threw a tantrum, not ONLY would she not get whatever the tantrum was about, she wouldn’t get the NEXT thing she asked for, either.
About a week and two tantrums later she crawled up on my lap and said conversationally, “This tantrum thing isn’t working for me.”
    Bingo!

My mom had a little system in place to help us learn patience so we didn’t expect to have it at our feet as soon as we asked. It’s been nice growing up like that for sure, and my sister and I are very well-rounded hardworking people. The mindset that follows after being spoiled is the difference between a spoiled kid and an entitled kid.

The fact that ANYONE would consider a mercedes for a 16 year old - especially one that acts like that is crazy. Getting kids expensive cars and worse high powered sports car when they're an inexperienced driver is dangerous not only for the kid but for the other drivers on the road - just so the parents can have 'brownie' points is stupid as hell. The first car is the one they learn how to take care of, what to do if the car breaks down - gets a flat etc.

For my youngest daughter’s ’Sweet Sixteen’, she asked that three or four girls be allowed to spend the night, and that we provide 3 cans of silly string for each of them. She then went door to door in our cul-de-sac and got permission to run in their yards for a silly string fight as long as they picked up the silly string. We shopped for snacks. Cul-de-sac was clear of silly string next morning, and the girls had a blast.

You’ve got your own pocket money wich you are allowed to spend on what ever you want or you go and put it on your birthday/Christmas wish list and we will see if you get it!
But NEVER ever would I buy stuff randomly and just because, not small and not big things! If they really want it they can pay for it with their money (a little weekly allowance given to them) that’s how you teach them how to be responsible and how to take care of their own money.
They will learn to manage their own money and will ask themselves "do I really want this?" Because it’s always easier to spend someone else’s money than yours!
Just buying your child every little thing as soon as they see it? They will think money grows in trees and they are a special little princess that gets everything they ask for "just because".
And that’s not how it goes… you have to work for what you’ve got in this world.
Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spoil your kid every once in a while and maybe indulge them in a small treat from the store etc… but it is meant to be a small and a rare occasion not an every week thing! That’s how you get a spoiled brat that is ungrateful af.

The girl with the car floored me. When I turned 16 (in 1984) my dad brought home a 1978 Plymouth Horizon. I was so excited to just HAVE a car of my own. I worked and made the payments on the car ($86/month). My parents paid the insurance and gave me a gas allowance each week for school. I was so happy I remember jumping up and down with joy. I would NEVER have said, "I didn't want..." NO NO NO Mom, don't give in to her tantrum. If Mom did/does swap the car, well, we know where the 16-year-old learned her entitled behavior.
I wouldn't shoot the PlayStation. I'd keep it for myself and make my child watch ME play his PlayStation. When my kids were little, I'd let them win maybe 1 time out of 10 times. Most of the time I didn't have to let them win - they won all on their own

Actually, I was told that I got a car on my 16th birthday - my grandfather’s old copper colored jeep. And I definitely might have threatened to blow torch it 😂😂 my parents knew how much I hated that car, so they had been teasing me with it before my birthday

My dad brought home car brochures for me from the time I was 16 because I didn't want to drive. He would have bought me any sort of mid priced nice car I had wanted and I was just like, I do not want to drive! lol I didn't drive until I was 20 and it probably saved him a fortune. My sister wrecked 3 cars before she was out of high school! He didn't have to drive me anywhere, my friends did that. He was an airline pilot, so he made good money. He insisted on buyin me a new car when I was about 25-26 before he retired because he was just like "let me do this for you before I retire!" I'm 48, he's probably still going to give me money for xmas even though I tell him not to! I got most everything I wanted growing up, but I think because I grew up in a military family and travelled around, I saw how much other people didn't have and I watched the news every night, I just knew I had it good and always appreciated it.

What a sweet gift! I bet it runs well too. I would love to have a van. I live on 20 acres in a very rural area with goats, chickens, and other animals, so a van would be ideal for hauling feed bags and some new baby goats
I was 22 when my dad gave me his old car in 1983. It was a 1970 4-door Oldsmobile land yacht with a few dents and no AC. It was beige. Even my grandmother said it was boring!
It ran great because dad was a stickler about maintenance. In fact, while I was a teenager he would ask me to "help" him with repairs such as replacing brakes (I helped by bleeding the brakes while he described the process of changing brake pads and getting rotors turned instead of replacing them). He showed me the radiator cooling system and taught me how to put a hose clamp on a cracked hose to stop a leak, taught me which fluids go where and how to check correctly and often, and the proper names and locations for various parts. I'm so grateful for that now because I can describe car problems to a mechanic without sounding like a complete idiot.
As a teen I wasn't interested in owning a car because I was scared of all the things that can go wrong. I figured I'd only work at jobs that were close enough to ride my bicycle to. However, those weekends hanging out with dad and talking about life are some of my most treasured memories. I learned much more than vehicle maintenance.
When I was 22 I applied for a tech job that I didn't feel qualified for, and to my shock, I was hired! It was 12 miles away so I wasn't looking forward to riding my bike that far but it's good exercise and I'd be stupid not to take the job!
Mom and Dad congratulated me and said they wanted to take me out to dinner downtown to celebrate, but he's not sure if there's enough gas in the tank so would I mind driving it to the station down the street to fill it up while they got ready? Um, okay, strange request, especially since we usually took Mom's car because it was nicer but sure...
I came back, told them the car had more than half a tank already but I filled it the rest of the way, and here's your keys back, Dad.
Dad said, "Those aren't MY keys! They're yours!"
I looked out at that beat-up Oldsmobile hoopty in the driveway that was as stylish as a bowl of plain oatmeal and burst into the "ugly cry" of joy. I've never felt more loved in my life! At that moment it dawned on me that Dad spent all those weekends teaching me so that by the time I was ready for a car I'd feel more confident in my abilities. He also wanted me to have the safest car possible and I didn't care that it was "uncool" to my friends. They changed their minds when they realized it could carry 7 people comfortably. I wouldn't have traded it for a Mercedes!

That's not always true. Sometimes parents will be as perfect as parents can be that did as much as they possibly could entirely right but still end up with entitled and/or awful kids. Kids aren't just influenced by parents and it's a bad mindset to believe that. They're influenced by friends, other relatives, and now social media is a very huge influences on kids. A few of these parents definitely are to blame (don't get her a pink Mercedes after her tantrum jfc), but not all of them seem to be. The Playstation one has an obvious addiction; that's not the parents' fault, though they don't seem very reasonable if their reaction was to destroy the console instead of just selling it or hiding it.

When you're ready to talk about your problem, I am ready to listen. " I sat down and picked up a paper. She screamed and thumped her little legs on the floor. No response. Rinse and repeat for a while. Finally, she was silent. I peeped behind the paper. She was sitting up indignantly. Then she came over. "Mummy, can I talk wiv oo now, please?"
"Certainly," I said, with all the magnanimity I could muster without wetting myself laughing. "What is the problem you want to talk about?"

I’m a mum and we are just entering an age when we can start to play some card and board games. I do the mix of both: when it’s late in a day and I can see that my kid is starting to get tired, I don’t push it and make sure he wins, but if we play on the weekends, morning or mid-day I play fair as he is usually very good (esp. If game is based on good memory or reflex) and he learns how to handle it. It’s a great proccess too as you actually witness your kids growth:experiencing emotions, learning to handle them and finally choosing that a great time together is what he actually craves anyway. Also if you always wins and hv easy wins you dont really get the satisfaction and the game itself gets less interesting.

You let them win but sometimes you have to let them lose so they can learn HOW to lose like a winner. Being a bad sport was just not allowed in my parents home. If you lost, you lost with a smile, you shook hands or gave a hug or whatever, no throwing down cards and stomping away. You might toss them down with an "aw...damn! You beat me!" But it would be with good humour. I grew up playing cards with adults (euchre, 500, canasta, poker, blackjack, cribbage etc) snooker, pool, billiards etc and if you wanted to be allowed to play you had to act like a grown up and not throw a hissy fit if you lost OR prance around if you won.
I was once playing poker with a guy who plays regularly for money and I kept cleaning him out. I was out bluffing him and even when he did beat me, I lost with a smile and it just threw him off his game. The last hand I actually had a superb hand and went all in, he thought I was bluffing and I won the lot and he was almost in tears. Losing with a smile is a great way to out psyche your opponent as well as being a good way of living your life.

It looked more like an autism meltdown that girl, as a mother of an autistic child she acted very similar to him

I agree. One of my friend's was a teacher & she had her students put their phones on her desk at the beginning of class. For the 1st few weeks her students were fidgety & jittery. Before the end of the semester they were forgetting to pick up their phones. She had to start reminding them. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

@monicaavendano5553 as an autistic person I can tell you I never behaved that way. My meltdowns went inward and I didn't have a phone to act this way over.
The thing that comes closest was maybe forgetting my Teddy in vacation and my parents went back to pick it up. The people we were travelling with didn't get it but I was calm and greatful after. I also still have the Teddy.
Granted, I mostly couldn't have outward meltdowns because it wasn't safe, but even now the go inward. Which is apparently more common in women and girls.
If it is an autism meltdown I wonder what she really needs, because the phone would most likely be a stimming tool

When I was 8 years old I rejected a gift because my father bought a gift that I hated, and I regretted it so much as soon as I saw my father's sad face, it became one of my biggest regrets in life and of course I apologized several times and I've never done anything like that since.

I think we’re all in agreement with “Sweet 16” girl. Mom is raising a spoiled kid, which is going to carry over into adulthood. Yeah, take the car back to get another. She is part of the problem. That $1600 would mean a lot to most of us.
My 16th, my two good friends came over. Had a sleepover. Ordered them food and I ate “blendered” Chef Boyardee. I had just had jaw surgery (one of too many) a week before my birthday.

I am pretty sure that I got nothing for my 16th birthday. In fact, for most of my birthdays I considered myself lucky to get a birthday cake and sometimes a card. Even those stopped by the age of 12 or 13. As a young adult my parents would take my Mom, sister and I out for a “shared birthday dinner” as all of our birthdays are in the same month - usually on my sister’s birthday as it was first up. My birthday was 2 days after my Mom’s birthday, which my Dad always remembered and asked me to pick up a gift for her. But by the time my birthday rolled around (literally 2 days later - every year!) it was often forgotten because “we already celebrated this month”. So no cake, no card, no Happy Birthday wishes - nothing.
I learned early that my life events were not a priority for my family. Lesson learned and not forgotten!
