I've heard enough reddit stories about wedding cancellations to know that you ALWAYS set a "password" with any vendors that you do not share with anyone.
My dad had a code word for us kids and said NEVER go home with anyone who says your dad sent me to pick up UNLESS they knew the code word. We all need code words as a security!

I want to know why the venue canceled the date without proof that it was the bride. But they're requiring the bride to provide proof that it wasn't her. That's some backwards logic

The bride can definitely sue her step sister and the venue for negligence of ID authentication.
Should have had to give the last 4 digits of the credit card that was used for deposit. If the person cannot come up with the 4 digits...no modifying nor canceling anything!!!!
@@gaillynn1280if the step sister knew to check her sister’s wallet, she could’ve stolen the credit card to get those numbers. Either way, it’s weird the venue didn’t require the bride to appear in person to sign some sort of contract for the cancellation or something. Why let go of a paying customer that easily? Did they already have someone else to replace her for that date?
I’m not gonna lie, the step sister needs help or needs to go to jail. Like, there is NO reason to do something like this.
I've been in the hospitality industry for 25 years. If a venue cancels your reservation without a cancelation contract then they are liable for breach of contract. A reservation with deposit is a binding agreement.
I remember one strange case that went to court. The bride discovered her MIL had canceled the venue with a digital signature and the venue had already rebooked. She took the venue to court about 2 months before the wedding, and was about to lose until she cursed out her MIL by name.
The venue owner gave a puzzled look, addressed the judge and asked if their was a precedence to cancel a venue under false presence... as the one who booked the slot happened to be the very same MIL and, given the circumstances, he'd prefer to switch the names back. Judge had a wicked grin and said "let me see the booking contract."
MIL's contract was voided for fraud, her 80% deposit was thus legally forfeit, and the venue graciously applied it in reestablishing the bride's booking. MIL tried suing the venue next, but all he brought to court was the transcripts of the prior session. That judge took one look and said "I trust my wife to have sound judgement, so I will adhere to her ruling."

The fact that someone would cancel a wedding reservation off of just a call is ridiculous. I'm a wedding photographer, and I require 3 forms of contact for cancellation and changes. Text, email and call. I then verify that the numbers and emails match with what is on file. I then call both contacts on the contract ( this is typically the bride and groom) and get a verbal confirmation from both and explain the fees for canceling before I officially cancel.

I have Never heard of someone doing something like that with someone's wedding. The venue wasn't prepared for sabotage. How could they be? It's not their fault.

I've spent over 10yrs as an event manager and exhibition coordinator, and you'd be surprised how often people try to sabotage other people's weddings and events. I've had a company deliberately screw up a company's exhibition panelling because they hated the company on a personal level. I've had mother of the bride and mother in-laws try and change reception centrepieces, going against everything the bride and groom wanted and paid for. I can't speak for every event manager, venue, bridal shop etc, but I always had two-step verification before ANY changes were made. These people don't realise just how much time the bride has spent with the people putting her wedding together, which is why it's so frequent. I've made a lot of friends through my bridal services, and get a lot of job offers when I'm dealing with corporate clients. Social media needs to spread these stories like wildfire, so even the evil mother in-law finds out she can't get away with it

Yeah all our venues required me and my husband to sign off on things. We didn’t have any drama, I thought it was a little strange that they needed two numbers two email addresses, etc, but hearing these stories is horrifying!

Someone cut me off in traffic, almost hitting my car trying to beat me to the Starbucks drive thru line. I laughed because She had to wait in the long line, while I walked my happy self inside to grab my mobile order. I was driving away when noticed that she hadn’t even made it to the speaker yet. Wedding planning tip: make a password for vendors and have it in the contract that if they cancel without receiving the password, they have to pay the cost of finding another vendor to replace them.... They will not talk to ANYONE without that password.

@@yvettejones5323 I just work retail and when someone picks up their order they have to provide the order number or their ID has to match the name on the pick up. So other people who are picking up need to be added or have the order number. I can't imagine not confirming it especially something as important and expensive as wedding vendors

It’s actually wild how people can be shocked that family members can be horrible, it really shows you haven’t ever dealt with it. Honestly, in a way, it’s a form of naïveté, people need to learn ANYONE can do something bad.
Right? I grew up with a really shitty mom. And some people get offended on her behalf when I say I hate her. I get a lot of "But that's your mom 🥺" No, she was a woman who happened to give birth to me. She never acted like a mom.
I too am surprised. Even if you have great parents i'd think one would atleast hear of other people having bad ones. Just listen how they treat children, especialy girls, in some other countries. Honor killings of daughters for being raped or divorcing abusive husbands, forced marriage, keeping child abuse a secret for "family honor", because not protecting your child is so honorable, just like killing your daughter and not the rapist or abuser. The list goes on.

There should be a "confirmation number" for each and every thing ordered for a wedding, where no one could cancel anything without the number. My sister sabotaged my life, over and over and over again, costing me so much more than this bride went through. People can really suck.
My older sis and i were no contact duringg my wedding. She STILL tried to cancel my venue through my planner.... But she gott the venue and info all wrong. My planner and i laughed over wine at my wedding when other family members informed us she had asked them and they all gave the wrong venue, bridal shop and flower shop.

The only problem with this is that anyone helping you with the wedding can slip the order number etc in a conversation with said people and could use that to legit cancel

Growing up there, I just thought it was another way to park. (I was too young to drive when we moved.)
Try Philadelphia. They park in the middle of the road. I sat through 2 lights to make a left turn waiting in what I thought was a line of cars waiting to turn left. I finally figured out I was waiting behind a line of parked cars. This was on Broad Street, a major street in Philly.
And her thinking he could get a "stat" tow was also kinda laughable. The process of dealing with 311 and then the cops is a nightmare. The only way to do it quickly is to pay it yourself. Ugh.

I have a rocky family history and raised my 15 other siblings myself so they are my kids. I have permanent custody over them and they call me mom. My mother is a high school teacher and would pick on my few kids who are in high school. She would purposefully give them bad grades or say they don't do their work in her class. My kids are straight A students, and did great in their other classes. So when she sent me an email trying to act innocently, I contacted the principal and told her what was happening. I got my mother fired and had a job offer from the principal herself. Of course I took the job and my kids do great.
That one hair on Charlotte has all my love and attention.

Every time I hear these stories about a bachelorette trip from hell it makes me so unbelievably grateful for my bridesmaids. We combined a bachelor/bachelorette weekend getaway with me, my hubby, my 3 bridesmaids and their partners, the groomsmen and my sister-in-laws. It went so smoothly. Everyone pitched in and we had a great time away in the woods for 3 days.

Family can be the worst. I haven't spoken to my brother in years because of something he did. My sister's, for years, always thought I was the AH for not wanting anything to do with him. They figured it out when my mom passed. My sister was the executor of her will so she was in charge of what went where. She went over to my mom's house to start inventorying everything and when she walks in the door she finds my brother, his wife and half of her family going through everything in the house. A ton of stuff was already loaded into the U-hall truck they had rented and they refused to return anything. Sis blocked in their truck and got the cops involved. The police forced him to return everything. It took years but he finally showed his true face to both my sisters.
I'm so sorry. I'm at a no contact with my mom and sister. Unfortunately, the pain of betrayal is most times brought about by those you break bread with. 😢

I think everyone should have to work in retail or with the general public, the amount of audacity people have is unreal. The worst was when I had a teen spit at me because I wouldn’t sell him cigarettes without ID, you best believe I jumped over the counter and chased him out the shop. It was worth the reprimanding I got. 😂
I agree, it should be like a right of passage. Same with restaurants, people who have never worked in a restaurant (most times) just don't understand how ridiculously difficult it can be sometimes. I haven't waited tables in at least seven years and I STILL have literal nightmares about it!!
@@nicolegroves6880 oh lord I worked in a restaurant when I was 16 and it was soul destroying, I’m pretty much disabled now so wouldn’t be able to but it is an awful job. People are so entitled and rude, it’s the only job I cried at 😂 I had a really rude customer who was a presenter on ITV weather, I wish we had social media back then cause I would’ve blasted her ass all over it.
Did you hear about the woman at a fastfood joint who got physical with the manager of the place over an order, who was then put in court where the judge said pretty much "Eh betch. Choice is yours. Either go to jail for months, or go put on an apron at that fastfood joint for about a year, see how you handle working there!"

This right here is why I eat the wrong food if I get the wrong food at a restaurant and properly refold/rehang everything I look at/try on in a clothing store.
In regards to your video schedule:
I'm all for whatever makes you feel most at ease to do. I was in jobs where my stress levels were so high, I could barely function my simple tasks at home; it was like, "I don't want to think anymore about anything. I cannot process anything else." My mental health was a nuclear landscape.
So, maybe try different days here & there & see which one works best for you & your mental health.

Wedding coordinator here. To avoid these issues I always have email conversations in place. So if you want to cancel something over the phone, I email the contacts on the signed contract and do a confirmation over the email and then I process a refund if one needs to be processed.
I feel like the absolute minimum for a cancellation should be like a quick email from the business to the client saying "this is confirming cancellation of your order per conversation today" etc. Etc. That would ensure that if the client wasn't the one who cancelled, they can fix the situation as soon as they see that email - and also, surely it's a risk for the business if everything's only been said on the phone? What if the wedding day comes and someone who cancelled verbally claims they never cancelled and why haven't they provided x,y,z, and they get sued or get in trouble with management?
Excellent idea. They could even give a 24 hour window where they'll hold the reservation in case the client changes their mind again.
Step-sister probably wanted to get married first, or hates any happiness for the bride. Planning and executing the ruin of a wedding is narcissist/sociopathic behavior, and daddy paying for step-sis's mistakes is telling.

UPS lie so badly about nobody home. Seen them so many times pull up, sit for 10 seconds, never leave the vehicle and then drive off and claim nobody was there. I assume this is because they are running late and 10 seconds is long enough for the tracking software to not call them out on not going to the location, but I am just guessing.
I had that problem with my USPS driver when I still lived with my parents. Was waiting for a package from overseas, super excited, listened all day for the delivery. Heard the mail truck come and go, ran outside, in the mailbox is a slip saying "you weren't home to sign for the package, come pick it up." So I walked down the street barefoot in my pajamas to where he was parked at the parcel locker halfway down the street, showed him the slip, and said "hi, I'd like to pick up my package." He at least had the grace to look embarrassed.

I mostly like watching stuff after Mondays and on Mondays because I go to gymnastics on Mondays and after Mondays is horseback, so right after gymnastics the next day, I have horseback so it’s just nice to have those two days to be able to wind down and watch my favorite CZcamsr

Long post, horrible wedding story. (stepsister story made me recall)
When I lived in the Bay Area, a radio station would allow the listeners to do pranks. I.E. call Jeff and tell him his kid is expelled for chewing gum ect. Then come clean and say it was all a joke and frank set you up.
So the get a set up, Karen says call my bestie Jill, and tell her the venue for her wedding this weekend is double booked, and she cant have it.
So the call Jill, and Jill says "I canceled that a month ago, do not call me! Why would you do that?!" and hangs up. Well now we have Tea.
They call Jill back and, identify as radio station and ask what happened. Seems her fiancé ran off with another woman, and her wedding would have been coming up.
"Well Karen called to set up this prank.." "THAT BITCH!! She was the woman he ran off with!"
Shortly thereafter they stopped doing prank calls.

I was soooo glad to hear she had the laptop sent back. What a spoiled brat that girl who lost her laptop. I feel like I've been in situations like this before when I did something for people, got out of my way and then they showed no gratitude whatsoever and basically ignored me later. So I'm glad she did it. I hate such people.

Thankfully I had my Dad and father in laws help booking the venues for the ceremony and reception!! Had a crazy lady trying to sabotage things but didn’t know who at the time!!! I now know who it was and WOW I was shocked as hell. That girl was moving in the shadows and not in a good way. Lol glad it didn’t work out in her favour. So many stories!
Listening to the second story, the one about the pink dress, I’m thinking brides and the various businesses they contract with need to have a code word, or PIN, to verify their identities.

The 'treating people terrible at their jobs, never having a job', is accurate. I work from home, but I don't treat people badly. I have to hear what my boyfriend goes through being a personal shopper at Wal-Mart, the things he has to deal with. Yeah, no, treat employees with respect. Example, he is a personal shopper, he uses a hand held device to find the items. Lady came in to look for some type of cookies and walked right up to him and asked him about them. He told her to ask a deli personal, since he doesn't know what she was asking for in a first place, and he wouldn't know where to find them. He couldn't understand what she was trying to tell him, so he was being polite, but then a team lead came up to him and said that a customer said he was being rude. I've heard from his co-workers that same thing happens. If people don't get their way in Wal-Mart, they just report the employees. How much of a Karen you have to be.
It’s disgusting, I work in a hospital drawing blood and people are constantly filing complaints and as gown ass adults lying in their complaints. I’ve learned that when people don’t get the answer they want they claim you’re being rude. It’s even worse when you work somewhere that sticks up for the patient/customer over the employee

@@MisterNotlob It occurred in NYC, where getting it towed requires calling the city to report it. Then waiting for the police to eventually show up and ticket it, and THEN getting a tow request made. That's the only way to NOT pay it yourself - going through legal channels. Otherwise, it would have cost him a private tow where they just move it down the street.
I actually took a break from youtube or the last month or so, so I am binging all of your videos that I didn't see yet. Its nice to have a few at once, I usually tend to binge on the weekends or monday mornings when there aren't any good shows streaming to watch, those are my youtube times and you are the first one I go to. Take care of yourself however you need to and make no apologies for it. You deserve whatever you need to be and feel your best. Thanks for always thinking of us. Sorry to mention but I’ve watched your videos a couple times but you have the same face moles as me and the chin/neck situation and you are just so beautiful and I don’t see that in myself, so thank you for showing me that my flaws are actually gorgeous because I can’t stop looking at you❤️ I also appreciate your content because it gets me to thinking, you are very smart and compassionate, we are also both people pleasers/recovering people pleasers so I learn a lot from you and I just wanted to say thank you because you do the things that I can’t do or realize myself.

The stepsister one SHOULD be impossible, but I know exactly what kind of stepsister she's dealing with. If I were still in contact with my stepsister and was getting married, either she would do that or her mother would. I'd bet the bride was in a similar situation to the one I grew up in- with a stepsister who constantly compares herself to you, bullies you incessantly for anything she thinks she is better at, and throws a tantrum every time she comes off the less-favoured. Mine was always angry at the fact that I was the smart one, and always bullied me for my weight and being younger than her.
My stepsister got married a while back, not long after I cut contact. I had no desire to mess with her wedding, even though she was posting all the details online. I didn't have to, really- she was mean to everyone, so she had very few people and no friends at her wedding, and had to use the groom's sisters for her entire bridal party. Also, she's never known how to dress for her shape or what fits her, so her wedding dress was badly cut and baggy. My grandma showed me a picture, and I hadn't laughed so hard in years.

I would have paid for the shipping fees and then kept the laptop until she gave me the money back. For funsies, I'd take pics of me and the laptop at various locations throughout the city and then post them to social media each day.

I love that you always ask us what works for us, even though you really don't need to. As long as you're giving us content, your people are going to be watching. Take care of your mental and physical health. It's kind of like that saying that you can't love someone else if you don't love yourself first. You can't take care of us, unless you take care of you.
18:54 Pay it back chains in my experience have luckily always been positive. I worked at a McDonald’s and we had a two lane drive thru. Sometimes in weird cases lane 1’s order would come through first but lane 2 car would pull forward first due to how long it took for lane 1 car to pull up. It was a thing that just happened, that was why at the pay window we always confirmed the order.
A lady pulls up and I read my next screen order and she says “Oh no, that’s not mine.” And I say “Oh, okay!You’re probably the very next one then. I think this is the car behind you!” She looks at me as she gives me her card and says “Oh my goodness, did I cut in front of the car in the other lane?” I swipe her card and say “Oh um… not really? I mean sometimes cars criss cross and this thing happens.”
Despite my insistence that she didn’t do anything wrong, she still felt bad and as if she had cut off the person in line. So she told me to pay for their order too.

There have been many times I've had to calm down a worker on their first day when they start freaking out. I even help walk them through serving me or other customers and they seem more confident when I leave. I understand and remember my first days at new jobs, so I try to help instead of jumping on them. It helps that I raised 5 kids. I have lots of patience.

In response to your question of “Is it petty if they deserve it?”
I call it “giving karma a helping hand.”
I’ve noticed that the universe has a tendency to reward the bad guys and punish the good guys, so I like to take matters into my own hands and give karma a helping hand by playing dirty to give the bad guys what they deserve, and boost the good guys up.
If you're being petty to stick it to the assholes of the world, as long as you're extra nice to the good people out there then I'd say you're doing good with helping that karmatic balance. It's always good to make someone's day a little better when they truly deserve it. :)
Honestly, I just kind of talk to people and usually the mean ones end up being really stressed out or scared about something, and they calm down after a while. Then again I work in healthcare so the 'bad' patients normally are just freaked out/nervous about stuff and don't know what to do. I've only met a handful of truly awful people.
@@shadowdroid776 I go way further than just being petty... but I only get that way with those who truly deserve it (terrorist supporters, communist supporters, narcissistic abusers, bullies, etc,)
As for the good people... I have a tendency to be way too nice and giving, to the point where I've really had to work on myself over the past few years to be less giving and nice, because people were taking advantage.
I'm nice up until I'm disrespected basically.
I can either be the best thing to happen to someone, or the worst... it's up to that person to choose their fate, as I treat people accordingly.
