- In this video I show you start to finish how to sew this confident beginner clutch wallet on my Juki TL-2000Qi domestic sewing machine. The pattern can be purchased on my website at lindshandmade.com
I'm using quilting cotton fabric for these instructions, but I also show you the minor changes needed if you choose to use vinyl, cork, or leather for yours (I will say, if you use anything other than quilting cotton, it does bump the difficulty level to intermediate and you should have a sewing achine that can handle such materials). I've made these out of all cork, all vinyl, a mixture of leather & waterproof canvas, as well as straight quilting cotton inside and out, and all turn out beautifully! So, get creative with yours!
These require a 7½” closed ended bar clasp closure.

Just made one wasn't sure my domestic could do it lol but it looks great just waiting for the bar clasp and l will share it love all your patterns l have brought
I love this so much! I bought the pattern the minute I logged on this morning. I love the idea of using HTV for the inside of the gussets (plus I already have some that matches my hardware). Also love that you can make this with a 9x12 inch piece of vinyl or cork or leather. I want to make this with so may different fabrics! Thanks so much for the pattern and this excellent tutorial!!!!!!💗💗💗
Thank you so much!
I honestly couldn't have said it better myself!!! I'm in love with this pattern so much! Can't wait to make lots of these
Very pretty❤
Thank you! 😊
Can not wait to make this clutch. It is very elegant .
It's gorgeous! Can't wait to make it.
Thank you! Can’t wait to see!
Beautiful project. Great detailed vid. Thanks. BTW you look amazing!
You’re too kind, thank you!
Wow what a beautiful clutch, and how stunning did do u look in the video. Love your patterns and videos xx
Aww what a nice compliment! Thank you so much!
Made my first one yesterday. A mother of a bride had her dress taken apart and she asked me to make her daughter a clutch. Satin isn’t my first choice, but I think it came out okay. I lined the inside with the same color as her bridesmaid dresses. Took me more time to get those dang screws in, than making most the bag 😂
Awww what a special gift!
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns I posted the photo on Instagram and tagged you ❤️. The pattern is awesome. I can definitely see making more of these!
I just purchased this pattern! Can’t wait to make this clutch! Great gifts for my 5 sisters for Christmas! One question, where do I find the strap connectors to make a crossbody?

Fantastic very clear instructions. Love this clutch, I bought the clasps before I found your video and pattern. If you don't mind me asking, I love the ruler that actually denotes all the 1/4 inch marks. That would take a lot of thinking out of cutting for me. I can't seem to source one of these anywhere. I've searched high and low, most only mark the one inch mark with little lines. Which is fine, I have loads of those, but I want one with the actual printed numbers on. Thanks in advance.
Thank you! I got the ruler from sewful-therapy.com! I didn’t realize how much I’d come to rely on those fractions myself 😅
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns I thank you greatly, I'm visually impaired so every little thing that I can do that helps with the process of measuring would be so great. Fabulous pattern. thanks. The rulers plural are ordered - happy Crimbo to me.
Id love to know where you sourced that striped zipper or zipper tape. Great pattern and demo. I paint silk, and this pattern is perfect for that! Thanks!
From Zippervalley.com 😀
beautiful! Love all you patterns and videos. Where did you get that press plate attachment of your press that fits the hole punch. I have the amazon box of punches but the plate would certainly be easier than using a hammer.
Ditto. I’d like to source the press plates also.
I actually had it custom made by a fellow maker whose dad was making them. It was a few years ago though and I’m not sure she still sells them. Another source was a Canadian maker Debbie Hunker with Doodabug
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns Thank you.
Do you have a link to the oval hole puncher?
It comes in a set here: amzn.to/3yTRQAw
What is the name of the chain rings, the one thay can be screwed in?
Strap clip with d ring or side connector with d ring. www.indolovekreation.com/collections/strap-anchor-keeper-ends/products/strap-clip-with-d-ring-1-pair
Question: The pattern says to use #3 zipper tape. Is it OK to use #5 tape, since the panel gets cut down later?
You can still use a #5 but use a ⅜” seam allowance when installing it instead of a ¼” seam allowance 👍🏻
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns Doh! I see this on p. 8 of the pattern.
Where can I find the bar clasp and gold chain? I am having a hard time finding them in the same color of gold.
Gold is so hard! I have the same trouble with golds. Have you tried wondergroundfabrics.com ?
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns not yet but I will give them a try
Looks like you are sewing on a Juki. I see your thread is through all three holes. Is that due to the kind of thread you are using or something else?
You know what, someone had recommended it when I was trouble shooting it with a different thread weight and I just did it out of habit for this one. No reason.
Where can I get the pattern from.
