- Find the Piper ID holder pattern in our shop at lindshandmade.com
This pattern is beginner friendly and the perfect scrap buster project that comes together super fast! I used a quilt cotton fabric interfaced with sf-101, and 12 gauge clear vinyl from Joanne fabrics.
I am sewing on my domestic Juki tl-2000qi with a Tex 45 bonded polyester thread, size 100/16 needle. I’ve also made this holder using vinyl, cork and leather with great results as well so feel free to use your favorite materials and have fun with it!
Unfortunately the breakaway clasps I used in this video are out of stock with no plans for a restock anytime soon. Two of my favorite hardware shops plan to carry some soon so be sure to check out Indolovekreation.shop and mojosew.com (They have generously offered a discount for my followers, use code "Linds10" at checkout)

Thank you for creating patterns and tutorials for everyone! I was about to check out on some of your items on your website and waswondering if there are any promo codes :)
Love this pattern and hope to be making several of them today! Can you make this with vinyl? Would love to see that with lighter colors - my old eyes had a hard time with the black fabric and black thread.
Yes a lot actually! Do you follow us on Instagram? I’ve posted several of them I’ve done in vinyl recently.
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns Im a bit Instagram-challenged but will definitely go take a look. Thank you!!!
love all yur work..may i ask where u got those cute gold clips
Thank you! I got them from moremeknow.com.
Hi there! Thanks for the video it's so useful. I'm so curious to know what sewing machine did you use for this video?
I used a juki TL 2000qi
How is decovil different from regular interfacing?
Why did it take so long to make the window for the ID safe? Thank you!
I’m not sure I understand the question. I don’t find making the window takes long at all 🤷🏼♀️
If you wanted to use vinyl would it be the same directions?
I make mine out of vinyl all the time. It just needs to be a lighter weight vinyl or it’ll be really hard to turn and feel very bulky. I wouldn’t do the double fold on the tabs though that’ll get too thick.
Thank you!
The size of the breakaway clasps is 3/4"?
It really needs to be as big or slightly bigger than the width of your strap. I made a ⅝” strap and use a ⅝” breakaway clasp OR ¾”. You can hardly tell the difference between the 2. I wrote for a ½” strap because that seems to be the most common size hardware people have on hand but I prefer ⅝ myself.
Can you add a link to purchase the pattern?
I just updated the description to include the direct link. Generally I just link to my website because I make the video typically before the actual pattern link is readily available and updating it gets lost in the shuffle of a pattern launch and all that goes into that. 🥴
How do you buy the pattern?

Where do I find the measurements to make this
In the pattern.
Maybe a silly question. Is there a problem completing it if you sew the zipper in the other way? Asking for a friend. Lol
What do you mean by sewing it in “the other way”? What way?
@@LindsHandmadeDesigns It's ok. I took it out and re-stitched it. I had sewn it with the top part on the bottom. (flipped it before sewing, so the zipper was now facing towards the left, and not the right.. Trying to make sense of this.
