      I don’t understand the question 🤔. I pull them to the back the same way I do for the card slots. Just gently tug on one of the thread strings from the wrong side until you get a loop, then pull the loop through to get both threads to the wrong side and tie.

      Thanks! I get mine by the yard from Ningbags but they closed the end of 2021 to prep for a wholesale model of business so I’m not sure when they will be opening back up. Their zips are 2 way zips which I prefer. I don’t sew over the metal teeth, I remove the extras on the ends to keep them out of the seam allowance. I have a another CZcams video going over metal zips. 👍🏻

    I purchased the spring snaps you listed on pattern. You used your kam press with those. What die set did you purchase to use in your kam press?

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  Před 5 měsíci

      I don’t actually have a kam press. Mine is from goldstar tool so their dies are not compatible with a kam press. You’ll want to reach out to them and ask what die you need for a 12.5 mm spring snap.

  • @lisasidoti9906
    @lisasidoti9906 Před 3 lety +2

    This maybe a stupid question, forgive me. This is my first time working with a pattern using just vinyl. If you’re using cork or vinyl do you still need to use the leather glue and paint?

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  Před 3 lety

      Then stick with the fabriTac but yes you still need an adhesive of some sort. I personally just like the finished look of edge painting but you don’t have to. I would recommend rubbing a clear drying glue to those edges however to avoid the fabric backing of those materials from popping out over time with use.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Can’t say that I’m familiar with their snaps but as long as it’s a “spring snap” or a “fashion snap” it should be fine. You just want to avoid heavy duty snaps designed for thick leather projects etc.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  Před 5 měsíci

      Anything lightweight like quilting cotton or broadcloth would work. You can use pinking shears along the edges to prevent fraying but honestly, the card slot edges get pretty well sealed when the leather edges are glued so its a moot point (but does get asked)

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns

      I prefer to stick with one that has a firmer temper and keep it 2-2.5oz or less. The layers can add up and get quite thick if it’s any thicker than that.

      I don’t have a gauge but I’d say it’s no thicker than 2.5oz

      I didn’t get my hand press from Amazon. My particular press is from Goldstar tools so that’s where I also bought the dies for it.

    I guess everyone else can hear better than me because my volume is on high and I can't hear everything. But what I see is good and I do have cc. The problem with that on my phone is, it often covers what you're doing.
