I met Jimmy Carr after one of his shows once. The interesting thing about him is that his brutal, harsh personality during his shows is all an act. In real life he's one of the nicest most genuine people you'll ever meet.

That’s why I always find it strange when people complain about comedians saying certain things. They don’t actually mean what they say all the time. They’ve developed a comic persona.

Philadelphia is notorious for having the most unruly crowds at everything from sporting events to comedy clubs. Bill Burr got heckled there and then spent like 10 minutes trashing the audience. Apparently they loved it, you can search it on youtube

I like how it's all good-natured fun. The hecklers try to slam him as hard as they can, knowing it's not hurting his feelings, and he snaps back and the hecklers and the audience get a good laugh out of it.

His fans come well prepared, I'm sure. Typically hecklers are drunk assholes, but in his case, the better the heckle, the better the response, so it's intentional.

Surely to god people with a brain realise that what Jimmy is doing here is using irony to take the pee out of his own response to hecklers. Jimmy Carr is a great stand up comic but I think his advantage over other stand up comedians comes from great knowledge of rhetoric (art of arguing). It clearly shows in his clean voice wich shows credibility(ethos) and with hecklers his ability to find the right counter argument.
