  • Non LSD. The drain and fill plugs are 24mm sockets. I used 80w90 AMSOIL Severe Gear oil. Manual says change every 60k miles, 1.37 quarts. I bought 2 quarts and added until it started coming out the drain plug. Feel like it was a little more than 1.37 q, but likely close.

ALWAYS remove the fill bolt first!!! Also, the manual says it's 1.69 Qt for the rear and 1.37 for the front axle (if you have one). Lifting the rear of the vehicle will allow for the extra fluid needed to be added. Great video, now I know how to tell if I have a limited slip diff or not. Thanks!!

Good video. On my Sorento, (2007) back end should be on jack stands when filling the rear diff as it needs just a little more fluid than it would have when on level ground. Also, good practice to remove the fill bolt first as if you have problems - at least you still have the diff working.

@@uthe54 Also, you don't have to he-man the drain plug back in it.. It only needs to be sung. Looks like you probably started to round the threads on that last grunt.. Good luck getting it back out! Good video though, watched for the oil recommendation.

about 8 inches higher...this is to prevent the differential bearing from going out. Very common on these.

Here in the US, no LSD after 2006 on 1st gen Sorentos.

The manual say that you have to lift the rear wheels of the car to 20 cm from the ground and then put the oil

Raise it 20cm? Isn't that just your recommendation? This information is not in my manual.🤔

Always take the fill plug out first. Why, because if that does not move and you drain the diffential, You wont be able to refill it.

Mechanics from Norway would have the car in level before refueling, thats basic learning.
