    That was such an amazing series of videos to watch. I only regret not watching them sooner. While you made mistakes, they were overshadowed by your excellent commentary and emotional reactions. Absent a guide of your rules, I will have to rewatch them to write down all the changes you made.

    After having watched all the rounds, I think the AI has a couple quirks that can be taken advantage of. I believe it states in the solo rules if there is any question as to what the best move for Empire is when it is unclear to make the best move for them when random die roll gives a poor decision. This is a matter of interpretation of the player of course.
    One adjustment I would make is to change the odds of a d6 roll when sending a leader to oppose a mission who does not have that missions required skill(especially when there is no other imperial leader present). Yes, it makes you have the rebels roll to make sure, but that leader could probably be best used elsewhere. So I think a d6 roll of 1-2(leader without required skill still opposes) d6 roll of 3-6(does not oppose).
    Also, I think the AI could benefit from having an overall strategy(this way the AI could provide variety in different games and not always do the same course each game).
    An overall guideline strategy that favors movement of units towards rebels, or locating rebel base, or producing most possible units by targeting highest production planets sre some examples.
    Great series, it peaked my interest in playing this solo, looking forward to giving this a go. Glad you included the expansion, I can't ever play this game without it any more.

    Awesome playthrough, had a blast watching them! Loving your emotional commentary. Thanks for that! Im just struggling seeing all the changes you made to the Solo rules…. I think one huge change (for the better!) is using dice to decide wether the empire opposes a mission or not and wether they do a mission or move? Am I right? I know it’s been a while, maybe you remember… ;)

    So with the extension, the combat rule from the SOLO variant is not used? So I use the new combat system from the extension?
    SOLO variant COMBAT rules
    1) Any Special Icons rolled are considered “hits” vs. Rebel Units
    2) You MUST reroll up to the number of “hits” equal to the Theater-specific Tactics Value of the Empire’s Leader (starting with the “Direct Hit” followed by regular/single hits) until they’re all used; balance may carry-over to later rounds.
    3) The Empire will assign hits vs. Rebel Units with the following priority: Ion Cannon, Weakest Units (Remaining Health); and Greatest Firepower (i.e. number of attack dice rolled) [Note: Use Golden Rule to break ties]
    THE DEATH STAR: The Empire will ONLY target the Rebel Base, a PRB, or a System with Rebel Loyalty and/or any Rebel Ground Units

    I think you would have won. The solo rules indicate that a fleet can still only move once per turn even though a leader in system doesn’t prevent movement. You would have survived until the refresh phase

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Před 6 lety

      Raymond you are right!! However, I really don't think I could have moved units out of Saw G. space to Naboo, so I Would have been 1 influence short! Still a close game!

    • @feekygucker2678
      @feekygucker2678 Před 6 lety +2

      That's the way I read it too.
      "when the difference between the Turn and Reputation Markers is ≤ 5, Imperial fleets may move (once/turn) even if there’s a Leader in the starting System"... '(once/turn)' being the pertinent bit.
      I think you won dude :).

    Not to be too whiney here but when you reroll during this serie you sometimes keep the dies in the tray and then when some get knocked over you use the new result also, so its like you got too many rerolls ;) But its been fun watching this! I wont play it myself though since theres too mcuh roll to resolve and Rebellion is such a great game wiht 2 players, the whole mindgame thing and so on, but still fun too have seen this as solo variant :)

    Oof. RIP Rebellion, 2018-2018. They managed to, through those dice to determine what system they would move towards, get lucky and target your base. Unfortunate, but that 33% chance got ya. Not sure how what I suggested in the previous video could have made this any better though.

      Ahhh, right. I was a little surprised when you put back the second Death Star plans when you got that in this video; the Death Star was right next to one of your fleets, I figured you would for sure take it and try to go after the Death Star. Ah well, was still very enjoyable to watch and surprisingly, quite quick. I don't mean "haha, you lost so fast!" just that these came out quite promptly, and doing multiple turns per video let you get the series done in what, 3 or 4 videos? Even if you won it would have been the same number I'm pretty sure. So yeah, good game dude :)

    Ok so around the 14:53 mark you mention in the solo rules that if the turn and rep marker is 5 or less difference OR the rebel base is revealed you can move units out of a starting leaders location. Do the imperials only get to do this ONCE per a an imp leaders turn (including other leaders from a starting location adjacent if applicable) during the command phase? So basically they pull the trigger on a turn and bring in all units from all adjacent systems with leaders in a starting point. Then they can’t do that type of move again until next command phase..
    OR do we say that if either conditions have been met we let imperials move out of a starting location that has a leader every time for all remaining command phases? Including all units in adjacent locations that have leaders in the starting points

      @@OneStopCoopShop wouldn’t you agree that allowing the empire to break the movement rule of moving of a system that has a leader more than once is a bit much given the empires significant military advantage? You aren’t allowing this in a regular competitive game of 2 players. I ended up losing the game because the empire was able to break this rule. The empire was able to take consecutive movement actions as a result to get to my rebel base. Empire literally activated a system next to dantooine my rebel base. They won that battle decisively but since they knew my rebel base (all probe cards) they could move yet again (movement rule) to dantooine crushing the rebellion and winning the game. They crushed me with 1 swift stroke 😭 lol
