    Another note on picking the Rebel Base location: you do this after both players have chosen where their units go (the Rebel not yet knowing where their Rebel Base units will technically be).
    If the Empire has more transport capacity on one side of the board, you can avoid it if you so wish.
    Technically it is not one Stormtrooper but just an Imperial ground unit that needs to be in each of the seven starting systems.

    At minute 13:30 you talk about the rebel player chosing a card for their secret rebel base, but you didn't mention that at first you shuffle the 3 rebel system cards back into the deck. That means your secret base can also be on one of the planets, that are loyal to the rebels in the beginning of the game.

      hold on, you mean the rebel doesn't choose his secret base ?
      Which means if unlucky you start on, say a planet sandwiched between 2 imp planets ? Sounds harsh, that's not how we play the (base) game, the secret base is chosen from the remaining systems, and CANT be adjacent to empire.
      Shit, if that's the official rule it's really stupid.

      Rebel base is CHOSEN by the rebel player after the imperial one removed his fifth starting system AND the remote planet where the death star is in construction.

    Good one but you should add examples of combat. The rulebook does a bad job in explaning what is simultaneous and not. It makes a huge difference who is the attacker since that player cant reduce damage (they have none taken except from damage från cards played)

      @harsh-rules  Před 6 lety +2

      Good catch. I see it now. The Rebel faction can actually "choose" their base. I misunderstood it as "Draw" a card .
      From the rule book:
      "Then, from the remaining probe cards, the Rebel player secretly chooses one card and places it facedown under
      the Rebel base “Location” space of the game board. Then the probe deck is shuffled and placed on the “Probe Deck” space of the game board."

      As explained in the video the Darth Vader icon is used during the setup, when making and shuffling the deck. Either you use those cards and normals left out, or vice cersa. See video for details.
      All mission cards as explained in the videos must be played with a leader that had required skill, then either its resolved or if its attempt then the opposing side can oppose the attempt.
      It's up to you which cards you play, and which order.

      Yes can move, transport troops, fighters. (Every unit either must be carried (chain link icon) or have own hyperdrive.)

    I actually greatly preferred the original combat system, and felt this expansion added too much extra to an already large game (much of it not asked for, let alone needed). Aside from changing a bit of EU canon, this expansion was my least favorite forced and unnecessary thing to come out of Rogue One.

    • @MolnarG007
      @MolnarG007 Před rokem

      It depends on personal taste, i love the more complex battle system, and more complex gameplay.
      I even question the max8 leader rule, many weak leader/heroes and lesser missions are more available without this limit. More things happen.
      Of course it gives longer gameplay too.
      The whole expansion is optional of course. :)
