We played the expansion this weekend with 3 of us. Core Worlds, doubling all the market cards, encounter cards, new orange contacts, new characters and the new objectional objectives was so much fun! Chewy went for a the Galactic Explorer, Cad Bane as the most feared, and Herra as the Smuggler. Being able to cross at the core is a huge change!

Great gameplay. I used this as a good learning step for solo play 29:55 you could actually use landos crew ability to affect the roll. I think that's the point of the crew card and job
This is one of my favorite games. The expansion gave it everything it needed.

Also playing this solo with the expansion content, and I'm really having a good time! Agreed with your comment about the improvements it offers; these fun, *very* thematic moments keep happening (win or lose), almost as if this is now a well tuned, story-generating kit.

I have been hooked on this game again since the expansion came out. Love the ambitions that were added and just having the one unique card in the AI deck really gives each AI a personality. Even though it was a long wait it was worth it. Definitely my favorite Star Wars game.
Couldn't agree more, and yes if you have Xia, pull those credits out. Makes the game feel so much better IMO!

I just spotted the coins from Xia …good call much better than cardboard chits !…slightly off topic and chance of play through of CTG’s 20 Strong ..I am sure you will give it a go it’s awesome solo dice fest …very hard to win too …

Been a lurker for this game for the longest time and have seriously considered it since this expansion beefed up the solo mode, in addition to the Core Worlds mechanism overall. Thanks for the great play-through and getting me to seal the deal next payday 😃
PS The AI specific card is really similar to the automa for Monumental with its different faction characteristics

25:40 The expansion cards have the Star Wars cargo icon in the bottom right. 31:25 I always forget the lose $3k if defeated rule.
Black K’s Hutt Rep token slider is upside down(!) He’s big so I think he can do whatever he wants lol I was lucky to get the Asmodee FLGS loyalty program 3D silver plastic rep tokens for buying UB from them. If a character has positive rep to start the game, use the colored token for that faction and the plastic for the others just to mix it up. I also had a $15 rewards! I notice you weren’t using the goal tokens.
It’d be nice if the reference card had a reminder to check goals I always forget. I’m experimenting with numbered tokens keyed to cargo/jobs/bounties and their locations on the board.
Interesting how you pronounce some names like Boba Fett and Lobot.
The first time I played UB I looked at the top two market cards and choosed one instead of looking at one then placing it at the bottom of the deck then looking at the other. Like games that start off by giving you an opportunity to pick a bonus card for the game. I was getting greedy lol
I use a FFG X-wing starfield playmat which looks very similar. Looks good with any game.

Nice video (as always) that helped clear up a few of the bounty hunter A.I issues I had. However, I would really have loved to see how you handled running both A.Is at the same time? Not seen anyone do that yet.

great game, this expansion imho completes the core game and fixes some issues. I played "solo" as Han Solo vs Cad Bane. He is pretty hard.

1:01:00 you had some very bad fortune with chewbacca showing up like that. Though, the game could have come out different with deduction of credits and assigning of hits as you noted in your game play corrections. cheers.

Thank you for this playthrough!! This really makes me consider this w/ the expansion for my solo play. Have you played Firefly solo to compare? They are doing the 10th anniversary release of that with all expansions, and I’m a bigger Firefly fan. But if OR gameplay is more robust solo, I might go that way instead. Thanks! 😀

48:50 fail condition is separated with semicolon, meaning you should have NOT lost 4k credit automatically, but only in case you failed test and you already had negative reputation you get to lose 4k, otherwise you only lose reputation.

I traded my copy (I think for Legendary Firefly?) as the original solo was lackluster, the decks were too thin, and I prefer win/lose goals over races to points in a solo game.
After watching a playthrough of the expansion a few weeks ago, I purchased both. The expansion seems to address just about everything from the base game. For me, the only thing I'd want is a co-op mode but that's unlikely to ever happen.

Would love a coop mode, FFG did one for Runebound 3E (Unbreakable Bonds), don't see why they couldn't do one here especially with the game board being so modular.
That is true, but for some reason this game doesn't seem to lend towards co-op. Runebound you have a common enemy, here not so much. So it would be a pretty significant overhaul I feel. We can still have hope though!
I think it would just need some rules to sum the character's dices, and then some tough bounties that would be unfit for a single character, or some missions that would need to be accomplished with the characters on different planets at the same round, or big deliveries that would need more than one ship.
First, wanted to mention that's SPIN - ward, as in the direction the galaxy spins, not SPINE - ward, going toward your spine. :D

Yes I would recommend for solo only! But if I had the choice between this and xia.. I'd go xia all the way. That has a solo campaign and more variety!
With this expansion may i use the new solo cards to manage a second bot?
Yes you can!!
How many times can you rifle through the Market Decks? I'm a bit fuzzy on that process. Can you go through the entire deck until you find something you like? Can you do that with all the market decks? Or is there a limit? Thanks!
One time per turn you can discard one card to the bottom of a deck!
The expansion changed this a bit. Using the expansion, you can discard up to two cards now from a single deck on your market turn.
The AI decks seem much improved from the base game. How do you like it compared to the excel spreadsheet?
Ohh good question! The excel document is still much more unique per character, but unless you make cards for each is a lot more cumbersome to activate. So overall I think I prefer the cards, also the excel does not have the new characters :)

@15:10 I believe this was played incorrectly. the card says he gets any face UP lowest tier token as a crew, but you flipped one that was face down and gave him the crew.
Pretty sure I did that correct. I revealed a token first for the action before. Then there was a token faceup so he could recruit it!

@@OneStopCoopShop, it's alright. Turns out my eldest son's tastes have changed. He can't wait to play with the expansion. Now, I'm really excited.
When the AI reveal a contact token from a market action they reveal lowest class to highest. At 31:00 the AI will discard a crew to gain a crew, however in your case there were no face up contacts to gain so it didn't matter. At 39:30 even though Krrsantan can't buy any gear because his gear slots are full he would still discard (twice) from the gear deck in case there is something in there he can buy (happens again at 58:00). Some decks have more than just one specific slot so this is important to remember. At 55:00 when you look through the deck for a bounty (and find maz) you need to shuffle the whole deck then reveal a card and then move the patrol. You moved the patrol but it may have been a different card if you did it in the correct order. At 59:25 im actually not sure how that works because you are using Boba Fetts ability to peek at a contact not encounter or reveal it. I'm imagining a multiplayer game would you take it off the board as that would make it easier for someone chasing bounties?

Yup that's right I was at neutral before. Increasing neutral by 1 goes to positive
As a solo game, is this a better experience than Xia?
I would say Xia is better for solo. It has a solo campaign even. But if you like star wars... this is also amazing!
