I mixed up the sources for Rae Sloane. Oops! It should read, A New Dawn, Kanan: The Last Padawan, Squadrons, and the Aftermath Trilogy.
Can you cover the grand generals and grand moffs next? And explain how the moffs differ from governors, i have never understood the sharing of power.
As far as i remember she wasn't in Rebels but we all make mistakes so no problem
@@boomstick7506 could be totally wrong about it, but i think it is governor when in charge of a single system (e.g. Price for the Lothal System), moff for an entire sector (e.g. Gideon for the Mandalorian sector/space), and gran moff for group of sectors or entire rim like the entire outer rim for Tarkin. Governor -> Moff -> Gran Moff (It's both a goverment role and a military one, but yes i never really understrood how they share power on the military with generals and admirals)
I saw Sloane in Rebels and was like WHAT, how did I miss that??? lol.
I was just about to ask. I just rewatched Ashoka and I've been looking for GA Sloane everywhere. I would have been real mad at myself if I had missed it.

The first time I ever encountered Thrawn as a kid was playing Empire at War: Forces of Corruption and suddenly being thown into a space battle against Thrawn commanding the Chimera.
I metaphorically crapped my pants.
Thrawn is a beast in Empire at war. When I played the galactic conquest Thrawn always attacked Bespin and took it. I was playing with the canon mod as well.

I remember stumbling upon heir to the empire in my school library one summer, and that took me down the deep rabbit hole of Star Wars legends. He still remains my favorite character after the real hero of the story R2D2
This is neither here nor there, but I find Peccati Syn’s name hilarious. “Peccatus” in Latin means “sinned.” So his name is “Sinned Syn.” Doesn’t get more evil than that

Ishin-Il-Raz is basically the Star Wars version of Waylon Smithers.
Ah yes, Ishin-Il-Raz, a guy with no military skills, but who were so fanatically loyal to Palpatine, he did anything he could to get his attention, such as committing mass killings and war crimes left right and center. Poor guy became so depressed after Palpatine's death, he ended up committing suicide as a result, taking down with him tens of thousands other crew members.
I love the wide variety of Grand Admirals in Legends. There were some wild, crazy ones in that roster and I hope we continue to expand the rosters of Grand Admirals in Canon. Thrawn is without doubt the best one in either continuity but anyone capable of earning that rank from Emperor Palpatine himself would make a great antagonist for future stories. I liked the added detail of Thrawn's Grand Admiral uniform being worn and tattered from his exile on Peridea, which it's finally good to have some answers for rather than stating his fate as unknown in the video😂

Declann also used Battle Meditation during Endor. When he sensed Palpatine die, he stopped and rushed to the throne room, which is when the tide of battle began to turn against the Imperials.
Grand admiral Multan takel is probably one of my favorite grand admirals he is very underrated
I think there is a typo on the slide with Rae Sloane sources. States the same sources in the same order as the Thrawn slide but I assume it should actually be… Squadrons, A New Dawn, and the Aftermath Trilogy?

What about Faro taking command of the Eleventh Fleet? Was it ever confirmed if she made it back to Coruscant at the end of Thrawn Treason?

I recall Savit being pronounced differently in Thrawn Treason.
On the one hand you forgot to mention that the Jedi Ezra Bridger stowed away on Thrawn’s ship.
But on the other hand, the fate of Rae Sloane is revealed in the book called Star Wars Battles that Changed the Galaxy, that she did not had the focial points in leadership so that is when Snoke came in, killed her, and took over the First Order.
Maybe They’re Saving Rae Sloan For That Mandolorian Movie 🤷🏾♂️

Do you mean that as in "did any grand admirals defect" OR did anyone in the rebel alliance hold the rank of grand admirals?
As mentioned in the video, in Legends Grant did defect to the new republic but his position wasn't transferred and Palleon as a grand admiral in the imperial remnant did fight allongside the galactic alliance (the replacement of the new republic( during the yuzon ving war).
In canon no grand admirals (or grand generals) have defected.
In canon, notably aftermath book 2: life debt, it's stated that the rank of "grand admiral" is an imperial only rank, with the rebel alliance/new republic utilizing fleet admiral instead. This was in response to Rae Sloan addressing ackbar upon one of his victories against her remnant as "grand admiral ackbar".

If Peccati Syn had known what the Sith did to Taris several thousand years ago, he'd never have devoted himself to the Church of the Dark Side and deserted when he learned of the Empire's affiliation with the Sith. It's sad really. One tiny bit of information could've kept him from becoming a monster.
Did not like the way Thrawn went out in Legends. When I first read it I was like WTF.
Slight question but does Il Raz zoom in on Grunger and Grunger on Il Raz.
Hopefully they will give us a new grand admiral soon enough.

I think the legends version of Thrawn in better. Dude literally had a disagreement with the Emperor and was hated by the imperial court. Said screw it I can do better then this. Went out into the unknown regions and built up his own empire. Then came back to take command of the original empire.
In the canon book trilogy by Zahn, he has some stellar moments (and the books are MUCH better than his on screen material). I wont spoil, but he does some insane feats.

Star Wars explained Grand Admiral thrawn was above moff Gideon tarkin and other Imperial officers and rank but below vader and palpatine he was basically the left hand man of the emperor While vader was the right hand man see where I'm going

He had a white uniform but he was Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence. Seems similar to Krennic since he also wore white but was largely an administrator.

In universe i could kinda see it working if you have a small connection to the force.

In terms of taking the name directly, few. You got stellaris, known space, sly cooper, and firefly (though that is actual earth spices)
In terms of a miracle pyschoactive drug resource that alters your mind and is a key aspect of the economy (even possibly giving you super powers). Id need a bigger list, but stuff like Warhammer, doctor who, fallout, elderscrolls.
And here star wars falls into the latter since the narcotic that the grand admiral took to become telepathic is called “glitterstim”
also Star Wars explained and everyone do you believe the prime Jedi and the chosen one are related identical or share some similarities because both share true perfect balance in the force maybe Anakin was the descendant of him the prime Jedi his ancestor

Aside from Thrawn, I immediately think of Zaarin when it comes to Legends GAs because of the TIE Fighter game. Funnily enough I think it was other material that said Zaarin was a GA because he wasnt one in the game.
I still await a live action Sloane, and Imma join the camp that wants her to be played by Angela Basset.

Zahn basically carried over Legends information about 12 Grand Admirals, so no, we have yet to see 10 canon Grand Admirals (excluding Savit and Thrawn)

Bro, what? Pre Disney had the crazy grand admirals...so no. Disney canon has 3 (Thrawn,Sloane and Savitt) and the canon ones are MUCH more tame and not as weird.
