Its from an old article in the Star Wars Insider magazine Issue #66, called "Who's Who of Grand Admirals". They used to do a bunch of these Who's Who articles with brand new pictures for characters who didn't have them.

What I've gathered from this video is that in the end, it sucks to be Grand Admiral.

There's also the Imperial splinter leader Warlord Zsinj, who basically promoted himself to Grand Admiral and wore a Grand Admiral's uniform, even though he hadn't earned the rank.

X-Wing Alliance showed him like a regular admiral. Thrawn was dressed like a Grand Admiral too, in TIE Fighter. But was supposedly a 'vice admiral' then.
Tragically Osvald Teshik was the least 'evil' of the GAs, he was actually a very brave and compassionate man, but after his horrendous battle injuries and cybernetic replacements he was repulsed and shunned by society. This experience would harden his heart and become cruel.When he was captured his execution had less to do with justice and more with politics: Since the Emperor, Vader and many others were dead someone had the fall for the atrocities committed by the Empire.
And all he could do was laugh bitterly in his cell, the irony not lost on him. I always felt bad for him.

I want to see Tarkin meeting Thrawn so much. Tarkin seemed always like one of the highest authorities in the empire and could even tell Vader to shut up. So how will he react to someone like Thrawn, who ranks higher (and is more badass).

when you realize that 40% of these men achieved their rank solely because they were politically useful to Palpatine, and had no business wearing those uniforms.
Especially the one that was madly obsessed Towards Palpatine.

Seems weird that a handful of Grand Admirals were present at the Battle of Endor, but a lowly Admiral commanded the fleet.
They were there as observers, it seems. But yes, it did confuse things. And few sources mentioned them.

I've been looking to buy A New Dawn in hardcover but all the prices I've found are at least $50 even on Amazon AND used. Does anyone know what website/store I could purchase this book at? Or do I just have to settle for paperback? (Which I really don't want to)
You'd probably have to go paperback. There's a really cheap edition that also includes the Tarkin novel and 3 short stories unavailable anywhere else. I got it for around ten bucks.
I think there were also Grand Generals as a parallel rank in the Imperial Army? But the army got comparatively little attention compared to the Imperial Navy.
Yes there were, its even canon. Much like a Grand Moff and Grand Admiral, the Grand General can be even in charge of Darth Vader.

Well these Grand Admirals Sucked except Thrawn and Palleon from suicide to betraying the emperor to hate on aliens the empire went to crap after thrawn
Ambitions wise yes. Quality wise not quite. Half of them were actualy highly respected tacticians and strategists. Besides Thrawn and Palleon, those were Grunger, Pitta, Takel, Tigellinus and Teshik. Each one of them were capable of giving the rebels a run for their money. That's why they were priority targets as soon as encountered.
Teshik was a scapegoat for the Rebels.
I want to know what is your take on the new time that Disney is taking after the Return of the Jedi I was really disappointed with the force Awakening good movie though but after reading the dark Apprentice and the other books following I really thought this timeline was the way to go within their duction of grand Admiral thrawn and the dark clone Jedi Master and Luke going back to yard and foreign to start the Jedi Temple what is your Take On this

why did so many admirals and captains of the imperial navy kill themselves after the battle of endor by crashing their ships into random stuff like planets and stars, they shouldve atleast crashed their ships into New Republic ships or bases or try to take down as many rebels as they could before being destroyed
They didn't. Only one did. The other deaths were mostly combat casaulties during internal feuds or against the rebels. But yeah, killing eachother in a feud instead of focusing to destroy a common threat is stupid.
Many people were so loyal to Palpatine they just didn’t know what to do without him. For example, lots of Palpatine’s Imperial Guards killed themselves after he died because they believed they failed.
Basically most of them were betrayed

Most of these guys just seem like people palpatine put in to fill the circle of 12 rule. The only legit grand admirals are Thrawn and that other guy
I am curious about the cannon Grand Admirals position in the Empire. It seems like now the Grand Moffs are a higher rank then Grand Admirals as the trailer indicated Tarkin order Grand Admiral Trawn to destroy the rebels. Of course, that is assuming that it isn't like Nazy Germany, where there was no clear sucession during battle, so it could be favorites of the Emperor are a higher rank regardless of position.

Yes, but you forget the Empire is based of Nazi Germany and is ruled by many branches of the military being Moffs, Grand Admirals and force users (Inquisitors/Hands) that can order others from other branches. So its possible there is no clear hierarchy compared to most military forces. Especially when you consider how paranoia the Emperor was. I would think he would make the Empire so dependent on him that it could not function without him, so there would be few coup's against him.
No. A Moff has absolutly no authority over a Grand Admiral. As soon as a GA enters a sector he is in charge of all activities in said sector. A Grand Moff however remains in charge over his sector regardless of a GA or GG enters his territories. The GA answers primarily to the Emperor. If he is assigned to deal with a certain task, he has full authority to do so. It is rather certain Palpatine granted Tarkin his request rather than him ordering Thrawn to engage the rebels.

Didn't Tarkin order around all those Generals and Admirals on the Death Star in a New Hope or did I miss something. I just assume whomever is in charge is the Emperor's favorite, otherwise they squbla on who is in charge.

Still they were in different branches of the military. On a modern point, it would be like a General ordering a spy and a naval captain around, only possibly if they were given command over several branches. Also to related in cannon universe, the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Military below Palpatine is Grand Moff, Grand General (a rank made up for a new position), Dark Lord and Grand Admiral.

There is only one and it was thrown .The Empire did not let aliens join there ranks .Thats why they were turned to second class citizens .

There are three grand admirals in Cannon Sloan, Thrawn and Rax
Rax is currently the Fleet Admiral, a different rank. He doesn't want to be held in too high a position so if things go south, he can toss a "superior" like Sloane under the bus.

She also did to Ackbar despite the fact he isn't and that rank doesn't even apply to the rebels.
