Ouch, that hurts. Songs like The Last Hero, Calm The Fire and Words Darker Than Their Wings are anything but conventional Rock

Alter Bridge is one of the best rock bands ever. Period. They're much more popular in Europe than they are here in the states, sadly enough. They're still evolving after all of these years while not losing the charm that made them great to begin with.
I have never been able to figure out how Alter Bridge is not a more popular band here in the USA as I see them as the best rock and roll band over the last 10 years at least. I am however personally glad about it in a selfish way because as it stands i get to see them play live in smaller venues instead of the 25 thousand seat sports areanas. Right now i see them where i can almost reach out and touch them at every show.
It's funny you say that, because when they were still Creed, i didn't hear anyone call them one of the best Rock Bands out there. They were actually a laughingstock to many. Maybe all they needed was to drop Scott Stapp and get heavier to get respect. lol
You gotta check out Alter Bridge- Words Darker than their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall ft Parallax Orchestra. Its phenomenal! And it has a religious story behind it

Alter Bridge is always worth it. Always. Such a phenomenal band. You guys should react to Fortress and The Writing on the Wall
Alter Bridge is my favorite band in the history of music and I'm thrilled you guys are coming back to them! Please read the following list of songs I'm about to recommend because I love listening to your commentary about specific topics instead of seeing your reactions to songs that don't have as much lyrical substance.
1. Wayward Ones - Myles wrote this song because his wife works with orphan children and it's such a sad song. It usually brings tears to my eyes.
2. Buried Alive - It's about alcoholism and it's got an incredible intro solo.
3. Fallout - I relate to this song particularly because it's about a man who feels disconnected from those around him, yet desires to belong. It's my favorite on the AB III album.
4. Peace Is Broken - This is one of my favorites on the Fortress album and I simply LOVE the composition. Lyrically, it's about someone whose pain is self-inflicted. It features one of my favorite outro solos ever by Mark.
5. Waters Rising - My personal favorite Alter Bridge song and the only one so far to feature Mark on lead vocals. Every chorus sounds a little different because Mark sings them all a little differently and it's also got a fantastic outro solo by Mark.
6. Cry a River - It's a breakup song, but it's savage as fuck. Myles really tears this fictional woman a new one. Haha.
I hope you guys consider one of these in the future!
How in the world can you sit there with an AB shirt on and say this is a conventional rock band? If you listen to their catalog, they have a multitude of songs that break the norm or are not "structured" as you put it. Blackbird, Fortress, Cry of Achilles, Calm the Fire... basically their entire AB III and The Last Hero records outside of the singles. They always release the singles first with their "mainstream" song to get radio play and then the great songs are on the album. Disappointed by this comment.

That was my point. He says it's too structured but loves bands that use this same formula in every song.
I agree though, being structured doesn't make a song or band bad. It's all about what you like.
Rob Jarrett Yeah what he said was hypocritical, they have done many songs that have had similar structure and have loved it. So it’s not the structure of the song and anyone that judges a song from its structure I feel sorry.

I hope i misunderstood Sori. Sori you said "it has my boy tremonti in it" regarding this song.Did you know that Tremonti is the lead guitarist for Alter Bridge "?? He's been there guitarist since the bands inception.
Fortress, Cry of Achilles, Slip To The Void, Isolation, Words Darker Than Their Wings, Buried Alive, Writing On The Wall, Crows On A Wire, White Knuckles, Metalingus, In Loving Memory, and Watch Your Words would be great reactions. This band does not put out bad music, though. Their entire catalog is worth a few listens.
I wish I could be a patron, but hey Patrons, get them on Words Darker Than Their Wings from Royal Albert Hall. I think especially Sori would love it.

Conventional rock band??? They're the exact opposite of that. Hence why they dont get much radio play other than their singles. Listen to their music and not just their big hits, and you'll see they are faaarrr from conventional

Vin, I know you like Disarm by Smashing Pumpkins. I also know you guys like doing songs that have not been done. I highly recommend Soma by Smashing Pumpkins. This is off the same album as Disarm and I literally cannot find a reaction to it anywhere. How this song lulls you into a trance and then kicks you in the face is something I think you would truly appreciate

Alter bridge kind of hides their gems on their records, all of the first singles from their records are generic but good.....the great stuff is always there “hiding” on the record not on radio!
FACTS! I love songs like Burn It Down, Brand New Start, Break Me Down, Fallout, Peace Is Broken, Cry A River, and others more than I love the singles.
It kills me when they listen to one song and dismiss a band without making any effort to determine if that song is truly representative of what that band is all about. At least they gave G'nR another chance, maybe they'll come back around to the better AB stuff.
I totally agree with y’all! I think we can all agree too that even AB’s most complete and legendary song wasn’t EVER a single or on radios.....which is “blackbird”
With this song being the first single for the new album it’s a little more safe than what AB has done. Like a lot of others here, they are far more than a conventional rock band. I’d highly recommend “Waters Rising” or “Cry Of Achilles” if you want to see more complexity from Alter Bridge.
Anathema is a great band too.

Definitely not a "conventional rock band" y'all just need to do a little deeper dive into their catalog. Totally agree that this song is vanilla but I was half expecting that from a super early single anyways. I'd recommend songs like Fortress, The Last Hero, Blackbird (studio version), This Side of Fate, Cry of Achillies, and Words Darker Than Their Wings (just to name a few) to get a better feel for Alter Bridge.
I wish this wasnt the first one they chose to do.. it's not bad, but it gives them an impression that isnt the bands full picture

That verse was very literal. Jesus did speak in parables but it was obvious. Vin, I believe God allows multiple meanings to be interpreted from one verse that coincide. This being one of them.

7/10. I just like Tremonti. I think he’s a good guitarist.
He is a great guitarist. There are people who could technically play better than him or faster.. but his way to work a unique flare into the song just makes me appreciate his work more.
@@ehlert99 If there are people out there, they are very few. If you've listened to all of his Tremonti albums, you'll know what I'm talking about. He's a monster.

With a hundred million or so songs to choose from, how do these reaction channels keep hitting on songs and bands that other reaction channels did within the last few days? Happens over and over and over again. Branch out to some new material and new bands instead of continually doing the same stuff everyone else is doing.

Alter Bridge's first two albums were legit great. They have sadly sounded like they are rehashing themselves since then.
Blackbird, Ab 3, and Fortress were all masterpieces. After that...meh.
