Great song. Very interesting discussion. People who want to ”eliminate” disablities are basically fascist.
Glad you liked the song but I don't share your interpretation of these lyrics. To my mind the song is just about standing up against powerful systems and enties such as a government and refusing to let them divide and conquer people manipulating us into thinking that there is no overlap or nuance in people's values and beliefs and that you're one team or the other and therefore that all of your values and beliefs must also align with that party. Pro-life/pro-choice is just one such issue that they use to divide and conquer into left vs right, red vs blue etc etc. At the end, only the people (pawns) will be negatively impacted by the all the fighting and conflict and those at the top will remain untouched because people are too busy fighting each other and too tired to hold their political leaders accountable for all of their actions.
Of course, Myle's lyrics are never explicit even when they're political so you can read whatever you want into these things but the phrase "dont let the bastards grind you down" is a well known phrase from a Handmaid's Tale which is set in a dystopian future where women don't have rights. It's not a phrase that I would expect to see in a song with the interpretation you have given.

Why for the past 3 albums has Myles insisted on this nasally tone? Love alter bridge but at point I'd rather hear Mark doing all the vocals 😂
He can get nasally, but, he is 53 y/o and you have to change the way you sing sometimes as you need to get those high notes.

Myles Kennedy kicks ass to this day! In his 50’s and his voice is killer still!!
