FILTHY FUN AHEAD! We exchange the cosseted marina life for glorious mud!

In this video we leave Brinklow Marina to start our proper 2024 cruising.
At this point we should have already been on the Ashby canal & heading North on the Coventry canal towards Fradley junction on our way to meet friends up North; but the Brinklow landslide put paid to these plans so now we have decided to go to the Crick show & after that head North through our home city of Leicester via the Soar, Trent & then the Trent & Mersey canal.
So heading from the marina to overnight at Hillmorton after going up the locks we meet up with friends. The towpaths are like quagmires & the rain seems not to want to stop once we moor up but fortunately whilst cruising we manage to stay dry. Nyx has her welly-boots & so do we which is a good thing as while I'm writing this which is over a week later the rain is still hammering down & we can't go anywhere without coming back caked in mud. Still, you've gotta laugh as it's all just Filthy Fun!

😳 yikes those tunnels make me a bit nervous 😬! How tall are they compared to you??

That’s only a short one - takes a couple of minutes. Some take 40 minutes to go through. This one is a tall one but some you have to bend down a bit. Harecastle tunnel gets very low.
