- A few days in the marina of dreams while we got some personal things done was lovely. We then start our cruise North to meet friends hopefully later in the summer up on the Peak Forest Canal & on the way we experience demon drivers & more crazy weather.

I had to laugh when you told us about cathiron car park. We sometimes go there and park up and have a sandwich or chips from Brinklow chippy. Then go for a walk along the towpath. Sorry to disappoint anyone who was expecting more from us!!

Blimey that guy what on earth was that about! Almost as if he doesn't know to pass on the right as he went back to the left again didnt he? Whatever he thought he sas like a blinking speedboat anyway and no appplogies! Wow!

We are off on Tuesday hopefully - using the moor 100 to go to Wigrams for the rest if the summer (summer - do you remember what that looked like!!!!!).

That’ll be nice - yes - we do like Wigrams. They have camping pods too so friends/family can visit you.

Wow! That was a good bit of steering to avoid a collision. I'll continue to follow your journey north to the Peak Forest Canal...I've now got an Imrays Waterways map and a couple of Nicholson Guides, so I can follow all of you around the UK's amazing and incredible canal network. Yes, I'm getting little obsessed by it all...now, where's my passport...and my cheque book! Ha ha! Thank you for another interesting cruise. I hope the weather improves for you.

I have learnt more about England in the last few months, and not just about its history and society, but also about how absolutely beautiful it is...I continue to be amazed. Thanks again.

Plan at mo is to go to Hinckley for the winter as want to be nearer to home and also explore the Ashby. We have just under 3 weeks in august/sep and would like to do the Leicester line and then down the Coventry to end up at hinckley. We like to take our time and also may need to go back for a day or 2 for colin to go into work. I think you did that route last year? Do you think 2 1/2 - 3 weeks some time to work would be doable without rushing (4 hours on av travel each day?). I know i can route plan online but nothing beats hearing from someone who has done it! X
That’s doable but you’re likely to be doing some long days possibly- remember if you’re doing the ring Brinklow Braunston Leicester Loughborough Shardlow willington fradley to the Ashby that the soar & trent can go into flood at any point & can muck up plans as you can get stuck.

We will already be some of the way around as will be at Wigrams (though if we can we will move to Crick then even further around!) and will be ending up at Hinckley. Shardlow is Aquavista as well isnt it so if available can always use some of the moor 100 there until we have some more time as good point re the Soar etc. Hope your both doing OK. Where are you off to now?? xx

I'm fairly new as a narrowboat owner i cannot get over the amount of boat owners who pass moored boats a ridiculous speeds, don't these people have any common sense on boating etiquette.....i know what I'd like to write !!!!!!
@@michealpercy1741 I feel your pain Michael. We totally agree. In the three years we’ve been aboard it seems to be getting worse - maybe mirroring the situation on the roads where many feel they’re entitled above others 🤷🏻♂️. Thanks for commenting. 👍🏻
