    Hi Leo, I'm so glad I've come across your channel! I definitely identified with one of the personas you described in this video. My life is tracking along relatively well but I'm so unsatisfied and unfulfilled by what I do everyday and I just know I'm meant to do more, and meant to do something amazing. I went to university and after 6 years finally got a job in what I thought was my career path of choice, but realised it really wasn't for me and left to work closer to home and spend more time focusing on me. So now I'm stuck in a thankless job, working a stupid number of hours for terrible pay, and I'm desperate to find my purpose and start doing what I'm meant to be doing, I just have no idea how to get there and where to start, or what my purpose even is. I've watched a few of your videos and I'm going to keep watching them and start applying the methods you teach. Thank you so much for doing this for others!

    Hey, Love your videos :)
    I usually watch these daily to help inspire me to be more motivated. I have struggled in the past recovering from schizophrenia and have recently gone back to full time work (about six months ago); it is really hard to find the extra motivation outside of work to keep on top of the house and garden, do my creative projects and keep up with friends and community volunteering. At the moment I am a bit undecided about my future; I like people and making artwork/doing photography so am considering making a leap and saving for an art therapy masters. I meditate almost every day and go running a few times a week to try and get my fitness levels back on track. I am quite a happy person despite having had to struggle with life in my past and am looking forward to build a better future for myself. Just wanted to say thanks for your videos because they help me get up and go out for a run or get up and get on with my projects outside of work.

  • @shadysarita
    @shadysarita Před 8 lety +2

    I've been listening to your videos every morning while I get ready for work, and this one made me cry. I'm a college student who is about to get a business marketing degree from an excellent school, but my true passion lies in what you're doing: understanding psychology and teaching it to others. My parents have paid A LOT of money on my education and they expect me to surrender my life to moving up the corporate ladder. Deep down I know that I want to start an after school program for high school students to teach them coping skills to help them manage stress and how be more successful in life. However, I feel like if I surrender everything to pursue this goal, my parents would be extremely disappointed in me because I "wasted" their money on getting a degree. I hope that I'll able to overcome this feeling and actually pursue my dream, because I know entering business will set me up for a mediocre and unfulfilling existence.

      So what did you end up doing? Pursuing your dream? Or working the corporate ladder?

    • @shadysarita
      @shadysarita Před 3 lety +1

      @@ratcoolbud Wow.. I don't even remember writing this..but since you asked...
      Firstly, "pursuing your passion" and "climbing the corporate ladder" is a sad set of choices you've left me to choose from, as I feel compelled to say I did one over the other.
      Technically, I'm your terms, I joined the workforce and am "climbing the corporate ladder", which sounds way scarier and formal than it actually is.
      I have an amazing job where my passions of understanding and helping people have completely propelled my personal and professional success. My job is challenging, but fulfilling, and I am well respected by my customers and colleagues. Not only that, but I am getting paid very well to do something that I love. Can't ask for much more than that!
      So if you're in the same place I was years ago, I would first let go the labels you've used to define a path. If I had "followed my passion", there's no way I would be as happy and stress-free as I am now. Life is a journey, and there's always room to bring your passions into wherever you end up.

    I am stuck, in my mind and my life. There are different aspects of my life which are really draining me.
    1) i have big family problems, both financial ( because of which i want to earn money as soon as possible) and emotional (i have grown up seeing my parents fight and abuse eachother) . sometimes i think my dark childhood is the reason of my dullness and incapabilities.
    2) i never paid attention to my studies, i never gave even my 30% in my academics, which i really regret now because i cant change it.
    3) i don't know where my strength lies, i am currently studying (well i am sitting at home from last 6-7 months doing nothing, not moving forward)
    Each day i am stressed and worried. Sometimes i even think of dying. If you read this i hope you can help me with some advice.

      Riya Singh I’m sorry for all the pain you’ve been through. Family problems are rough and can shape the character of who you are sometimes. Having no clear purpose and anything you enjoy stinks and can make someone searching for truth frustrated, discouraged, and depressed. But in this video he mentions himself as a creator. I think this is an important aspect of success. We can’t believe happiness or good fortune will just fall upon us. We have to create what makes us happy. It sounds like you’ve been also going through some depression which makes have the motivation to create any happiness even harder. But think about what do you enjoy in life? Is it baking? Is it seeing a friend smile? What’s giving you the will power to live each day? For me it was finding friends that really cared and supported me. They told me of their heartaches and struggles and I told them mine. Empathy and human love is what helped me overcome pain when I thought I could no longer go on. And if you ever need someone to talk to I’m here because I can empathize to feeling so dark and lost in your life. I hope this helped and wish you luck in your journey.

    I´ve tried that, unfortunately it didnt work for me. I invested all the money I saved in getting the education and re-building my home so that it suits to open up a yogastudio inside. But the state and the bureaucrasy threatened to destroy me with lawsuit if I dare to open up. So I understood: I am not wanted or welcome here with my studio, as all my neighbors united against me with the state lawyers. so I finally accepted: I shall not live my life purpose here. Now I am forced to work nightshifts in a factory and do the same movement with my hands over and over again for 8 hours every single day. In order to not kill myself I let the doctor prescribe me prozac. This is the only way how i can cope with this. I´ve been trying all i can, sent hundrets of application letters for better jobs for an entire year in all metiers, but there´s just nothing coming my way. Isnt it sad that our pets enjoy the privilege of euthanasy and we dont?

    • @ActualizedOrg
      @ActualizedOrg  Před 10 lety

      Right, but how about not letting them be fleeting? What would that look like?

    • @nalysithovong
      @nalysithovong Před 10 lety

      I can write them down but I don't know what these moments of clarity are supposed to mean? What do I do? I feel it when I am walking in my garden, I feel it when I come up with a design in my head; on a painting; a DIY project.. These epiphanies are telling me something but what am I supposed to do? There are so many that I don't even know where to start. How can I find the time in between to make these things all happen? What that would look like? I'd have an hour and a half increments to do everything (to dedicate specifically to that thing) that I want to accomplish in a day or even a week perhaps a weekend. It all starts with time management. How do you incorporate a family's need in all that? I seem to know what needs to be done. I think I know how to get it going but I don't have the support. I know it sounds like an excuse but what IS the first step to getting everyone on board? It's overwhelming. It's paralyzing.
      Believe me, I 've done this before in my 20s when I was childless and single. I went to school full-time, had a full-time job, had 2 part time jobs, had my own business and still had a social life. I made it possible. I was sort of a wreck but in any case-driven...
      Now that I am older, I just don't know where to begin so that I can get a momentum. I really don't know what happened. Think I just need to be pointed in the right direction-like what you said. Which is what piqued my curiosity about your headline. Your stories-I identify with them.

      Nefariousnaylee Right, that's how it is for everyone. Sharing your greatest gifts with the world if fucking HARD! That's why I started Actualized.org, to give you the tools you need to piece this puzzle together. It's a very big puzzle! I spent at least 5 years doing it, but actually longer. It's not solved in one day. But the rewards of solving this are absolutely unbelievable. The way your life will look after you find your life purpose is going to be heaven.
      Which is why I tell everyone they need a life purpose -- too avoid this problem. This is what I coach people. It can't be solved in one youtube comment. Keep following my vids and using your brain to figure this out.

    • @elizahardy1872
      @elizahardy1872 Před 6 lety

      Strengths are a hard thing to always find. I think most of the time we have to create them. We have to learn how to develop them even if naturally we weren’t given them. I think after realizing that it’s not about finding that specific strength or job, you’ll be free to enjoy the walk of exploring and experiencing the world. Ask yourself...
      If you were given the world, what would you do with it? If you could live your dream life what would that look like? (Don’t think about money- think of life as a blank canvas you get to draw on)?Why do these things bring you happiness?
      What can you do to integrate more of these values into your life and developing yourself to be the person you want to become?

    2) the worst problem I face is regarding my interviews. Whenever I go for an interview, the most traumatic, pain full, question the interviewer ask me about is my gap after graduating.. 6-7 years ive been at home going nothing except worrying and being deppressed .

    Hi Leo, I'm currently a senior in high school and I must make choices about colleges and majors. I'm exceptionally talented at art, but I am definitely interested in other more academic things as well. My dream job is to be an animator for a company like disney or Pixar, yet at the same time I know there is a small chance I can achieve that dream. I know artists do not make a lot of money and I have a better chance in majoring in something academic to sustain a decent lifestyle. Right now, I'm almost sure I am going to become some kind of scientist (probably a neuroscientist) and abandon my artistic endeavors. I love science and art, and I feel like whatever I decide to pursue I will regret my decision and wish I chose the other career. How do I manage these conflicting interests to reach self-fulfillment?

    Is it true Leo what you said about a subscriber getting cheap or free one to one coaching with you for a month, that each subscriber gets a month or that whatever subscriber is randomly selected from a hat, gets free coaching with you just the one time, as part of the subscription?
    This was also mentioned on one of your videos. Is this offer finished now?
    I am unemployed and only on a basic average Disability Allowance with is like the Social security Card allowance an American with a Disability gets, so I can not avail of the coaching because of this and my currency is Euros not dollars.
    Thanks for reading this comment and listening to my thoughts. I really appreciate it and it makes me feel really good and just as important as the non-disabled individual,when you take time out of your very busy schedual to respond to my... messages, as well as trying to give me a great answer, which you are excellent at.
    It is unfortunate that I am not normal because you only deal with normal clients and have no experience of a person with a learning disability but that my Learning disability is some way benefial as it instills or invokes fire inside me to be successful, to overcome my difficulties, helps me think more empatheticaly and it can make life very exciting than those without a learning disability, despite feeling like you are in hell every day and every hour of your life and there is nothing you can do about it but laugh and smile or do something which makes you feel good and focus on you talents.
    For my entire life I have wanted to be understood as a Dyspraxic, accepted as a Dyspraxic woman as well as my whole self, while feel envious of those without a Disability and really trying to hard to fit in with those and be 'Normal'.
    I thought that if I could be normal, then I would have very little weaknesses than I do now and I could fit in better with the non-disabled and have everything which those without a disability have, which I have is impossible because of living with a Permanent Disability which started just after I was born and encouraged me to be a Self-learner and show that I am not Victim like many people assume.
    whenever the non-disabled mention or even think about an individual with a Disability, they feel that their lives will never change, that they are greatly limited in their potential, thinking and independence, than the average because of having a Disability and so they must accept that and they cannot look after themselves at all because of being this way so they need 24 hours less supervision and caring. This perception is what strives me to be a fighter and it really angers and disgusts me.
