Iâm not a doctor, but going to the gym right after a nose job seems like a bad idea.
yeah sweating into a fresh wound. Great idea! Bacteria is having a party on her face infecting that shit. Not a doctor either but yeah seems like a bad idea.
You're absolutely correct. I had a consultation for a potential septoplasty/rhinoplasty months ago; the doctor said I would need to take at least several days off _from my desk job_ to recover. Needless to say, I don't think he would have recommended I work out either during that time
Yep! After a nose job you cant do exercise for a month, other surgeries have longer or shorter times, but the general idea is dont do exercise after surgery.
Yeaaaah it sure is. My plastic surgeon was like "you are going to get as much yoga out of your system as you can before the surgery because it's going to be a while before you can get back on the mat, same with bike riding, and running, and pretty much anything other than a brisk walk.." Mine is medical so it's probably a bit more invasive, but there's no way I am risking not having the best healing outcome possible. Everything the surgeon tells me to do I will do. Nose jobs also stay swollen for an entire year in most cases so you don't even see the full result until a year after. It's got to be hard on your body if it takes that long for the swelling to go down completeley!
@@kenziecullen4434 Yeah my surgeon said two weeks off of work because I work as a server and I can't even be walking around. too bad I couldn't have gotten the surgery right before the quarentine but my specialist had to refer me to a surgeon and we had to wait for my CT scan results to even realize that I needed a full nose job so everything took months.
This should've never been aired. Completely socially irresponsible and downright immoral. Absolutely disgusting

'That woman begged for her face back' is a one line horror story.

That is true body horror. Sometimes im glad to be a man because we dont have to worry much at all about our looks. Fat, skinny, muscular, it doesnt matter as much for a man.

Prolly something Hannibal Lecter said
If they based the showâs premise on the ^The Ugly Duckling^ then they missed the point of that classic tale altogether. The Ugly Duckling wasnât âfixed upâ or changed at all. In the end the ugly duckling realised that heâs actually from a family of swans and that he WAS, AND ALWAYS HAD BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE BEAUTIFUL BEING HIMSELF!
This show feels more like The Twilight Zone episode Eye of the Beholder than The Ugly Duckling.
Same thing as "Big Brother"
Ikr, it honestly baffles me how they missed the point this hard.

That' s right.
Telling a depressed person to just get over it, is like telling someone who just lost both legs to just walk it off.
@Black Ninja In regards to how useless the advice is they're pretty similar
@Black Ninja As someone who had depression, they're pretty similar in regards to how useless the advice is. Also anyone who tells a depressed person to simply get over it, is automatically an asshole no ifs ands or buts.
@Black Ninja lol, right, like all those people dying with cancer. So weak, they aren't trying hard enough to get better.
@Black Ninja oh my gawd, how can someone be so oblivious to their stupidity? You know depression is a disease right? With legit physical problems and differences in their brain, right?
@Black Ninja your ignorance to the ways of depression is exhausting. depression is a chronic sadness, lack of motivation, everything like that. you acting like it's so easy to just walk off and get over is absolutely horrible and toxic, and you do not seem to care about what anyone else is saying. please actually do some research and understand that depression isn't some stumble, it's a serious chronic illness and can be absolutely horrible to live with, as someone who lives with it. different viewpoints can alter things but this is inexcusable, the way you're acting.

And whatâs more terrifying is that beauty standards change every few years, so this doctorâs taste will not be âinâ a few years from the showđ€Šđ»ââïž
I never even thought of it that way but you're right...faces do "go out of fashion". Pretty interesting to think about it.
Yah if they did this show today theyâd all have Kylie lips and Kim K asses
Imo it's because they're trying to do a "one size fits all" look instead of considering which features would suit the individual lady's faces, if that makes sense. Certain faces/looks are "in", but if someone has nice features they won't suddenly stop being attractive.
@@errortryagainlater4240 Yeah, this is how I took it. If you notice what things they DID change, they are things that still rank pretty high for most common precedures. Boob jobs, tummy tuck/liposuction, lip injections, nose job. They didn't do anything super out there. Even brow lift! All still popular today.
Did you saw the episode where the child of a participant was crying and scared of seeing his new mom, he did not recognized her. It was a moment so sad and questionning.. :(

@@coldpotatosoup7569 Yes, when you do shows/documentaries/articles the amount of editing is ridiculous, and they can take the smallest thing and blow it up. Adding this edit here. I didnt know this show was aired so long ago. So if it was from a long time ago you cant discredit his work to make up for this. @@humanbean8590 From memory, one woman didn't want veneers. The dentist(?) gave her such a "you're a party pooper" attitude and left her to think it over, and the woman then decided to go along with it. She thought her teeth were ok as they were...can't have that(!)

I can feel the toxicity throughout my body by watching snippets of this show. It makes me feel so gross
I watched this crap when I was thirteen, srsly I thought I'd be popular and liked in school when I get surgeries.
Thanks for that.
Felice Van Zwart wait so you got surgeries at 13 due to this show
@@onyx2463 don't think its due to the show but alright
sugar cqne oh
Thatâs sad that this was even aired and put into young girlâs minds.. glad I never saw or heard of it..
so sorry for you & I hope you still donât feel that way!
Felice Van Zwart same...
Itâs so unsettling to watch. Just the thought of looking into a mirror and not recognizing anything you see is so scary.
i never thought about it like that but yea that's terrifying
So true, when I had a full face of make up on, for the first time and looked in the mirror, I didnât really like it, because it weirded me out, it wasnât the me I was used to seeing in the mirror... I canât imagine litterally changing your face and having to live with that and having to get used to an actual different face, than the one youâve been trying to get used to your whole life...
agreed
Celestia Crystal I agree! Itâs one thing to know itâs just makeup, but itâs another thing to realize that itâs not coming off when you use makeup remover wipes. Gives me goosebumps...
âIâll probly put her on a stair climber for this big long legsâ I just shit myself laughing lmao
Highly recommend a series that I found on Netflix called 100% Hotter. I know, I don't care for the title either, but hear me out. They take people who have extreme fashions who get social backlash, try to understand them, try to take an introspective look to see if any personal problems are prompting their behavior/need for an outlandish appearance, and work with the person to make some compromises to try to tone down their looks while keeping their unique style or making a new style they are looking for. It's very mentally positive in a way I didn't get from What Not To Wear, and since you brought that up as a show that had a better take on making over a person I thought to turn you toward 100% Hotter.
Pig is a proud and loving husband from nature
Marmela Ota Right??
Honestly, the way he talks about how much he loves his wife is so damn wholesome
"I don't look anything like that girl!"
You know, I had a nightmare like that once. I am not going to sugarcoat it, I'm not attractive at all. But one time I had a dream that I had a different face, a conventionally beautiful face, and I was *mortified*. Because that face wasn't my face and I wanted my old face back.
Damn
That's intense I had a similar dream every time I looked in the mirror I was someone else it was pretty crazy
It's TRUE guys, no matter how ugly you shouldn't feel so ugly you want to change your face. You may not be ok with your looks *but you have them and someone needs to appreciate that, even you*
this would make a good novel/short film to portray the message of accepting yourself (kinda like the kids book about the fish who gives away his scales) and would be way more affective than all the makeover movies đ
These girls needed Gok Wan to help them feel beautiful as they are :)
I remember this show came out when I was about 11. My mom watched a few episodes and then stopped. I imagine she didnât think I was really paying it much attention. But it definitely did. I started doodling âuglyâ women and then giving them makeovers. I played it with my Barbies. All right before I went through awkward puberty!!! This show was AWFUL.
Iâm 27 now and with two daughters. Iâve made my mind up to never have plastic surgery or say anything negative about my body in front of them. I go the gym and model healthy eating and try not to pay to much attention to my appearance. I tell them theyâre beautiful every day. I want my girls to know beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and is more than outer appearance.
Psychologist: "It's not helpful when you're depressed!"
Guess I'll just stop, then.
God help us depressed people. If we could snap out of it, we would do it in a heartbeat
iâd straight up kill somebody if it meant iâd never be depressed (or the other disorders i deal with) like do people not get that this shit impairs us every single day? my disgusting mental health has ruined my life.
itâs literally awful i have depression and social anxiety and i literally canât communicate so no one likes me o would love to stop but i cant obviously do that suCks
Even if the show is scripted, it's still a terrible message to be sending out. Jesus how the hell did this even air?
Jess B This was made around the time of "America's Next Top Model" and "Toddlers and Tiaras". It'd be more shocking if this wasn't greenlit.
Jennea Cubero also around the time of The Biggest Loser. Which is horrible as well. Most of the people that lost the weight the moment they went home gained it all back. And we worse than before.
Seeing bionic pig get un-ironically angry is interesting him being such a happy nice seaming person
Thereâs an awesome UK show called, âhow to look good nakedâ by someone called Gok. Heâs helps them dress for their figure and takes them shopping to find their style, lifts their self-esteem and get strangers to point out what they like about their bodies, and gives them a little makeover and photo shoot. I really like it and itâs opposite to the shit show they call âthe swanâ. đ€ Dumb thing is I remember watching this dumbass show as an 8 year old.
Fact: just cause you donât like the way you look, doesnât make you ugly, you just arenât your type. How many times have yâall heard your friend(s) say âIâm so uglyâ and you actually think they are beautiful or good looking, yea that friend is you.
Tentacle Sama âyou just arenât your typeâ . lol what type of statement is that? More like you need to practice self love and learning to like what you see in the mirror.
EDIT ::/://: AND SOMETIMES EXTENSIVE THERAPY AND YEARS OF WORKING ON YOURSELF AND YOUR MIND IS NEEDED TOO. Jesus Christ.
Harty Hart yes because it comes that easy. Bruh, let somebody be positive. Some people literally arenât capable of liking what they see in the mirror but Iâm glad you can. Go stare at yourself or somethin
Harty Hart body dismorphia, parents being horrible and demeaning causing trauma, thereâs a million reasons.
Kale C uhm...wasnât really the point I was trying to make but okay?
Harty Hart you actually didnât make a point at all. And saying âbut okayâ is the stupidest smart ass shit Iâve ever read. You made a dumb comment. Realize that. *okay?*
Why are all the husbands looking more âaverageâ than any of the ladies before the plastic surgery? đ
Because in the society we live in menâs worth isnât reliant on their physical attractiveness but, womenâs is.
God I love how passionate you get about things like this, youâve really taught me a lot
I remember a lot of the contestants had pretty serious dental problems and I wonder how many of these woman signed up for free dental care and therapy and didn't really want all the rest of it.
"Plastic surgeons always talk about them like they're a thing" this is actually true of most surgeons. If you talk to them, most will say that they see patients as meat, and that's a little necessary. What they do is very contrary to human nature, and part of seeing patients as non-human helps keep them objective and effective at what they do.
That first girl wasn't even ugly!! She was very pretty!!!đ đ
They never even showed her with makeup and nice clothes.
This poor lady...
All of them were beautiful
They didn't need that surgery
I'mma say it.

Thanks for making this video and pointing out the issues with the show and our society. I like how you handled the topic of body dysmorphia, depression and self love respectfully. We need to talk more openly about shows and issues like this â€ïž
"So you're depressed? Ngl, that sound's sad"
I-
"you can't do plastic surgery on your brain" I needed to hear that even tho it was a joke
That line hit home. It really did. Shows how powerful our minds/mindsets are and how damaging they can be when we allow negativity and other people to bring us down.
look up the book series Uglies by Scott Westerfield
I was in my very early 20s when this show came out. I wanted nothing more than to be on it. I applied and tried. Thank god I wasnât picked. 16 years later, Iâm still getting over my dysmorphia (Iâve been diagnosed) and very very happy I didnât go get my face rearranged.
That's amazing and you're strong for having to deal with dysmorphia, I wish you all the best with it
Thank goodness you didn't get picked. Body dysmorphia is an absolute bitch and you should be proud of yourself for fighting it.
I was in middle school when this show came out and dreamed of being on it - makes me sad for young me looking back. But I wouldnât change anything now!
Man, I was obsessed with The Swan back in the day...but hearing your disdain in describing it is cracking me up. Subscribed!
Why did you assume the husbands left? It says divorced, not who divorced who.
he gave more than one scenario. he offered that, on the women's side, they developed an ego and left their husband for someone more attractive.
This made me look at myself and realize I finally donât hate anything about myself or any part of myself. And I wish more than anything that everyone could feel that way. Iâm not perfect, but Iâm completely happy with the way I am because I accepted it. And I donât surround myself with people who ever put me down or make me feel not good enough. Anyone who does that doesnât deserve to be in your life. Get rid of them ASAP. Life is too short for that.

Me too. I subscribed. You have to feel good about yourself. I had surgery done on my chin. Wanted it since I was 12. I felt better about my profile, but it didn't dramatically change my life. I don't regret doing it, it turned out really well and looks natural, but things didn't suddenly get better in my life. Little fixes are fine, but major overhauls of one's body? That can be a problem. Hope the ladies on the show get into a more positive environment and separate themselves from the negative folks in their lives.
Me too. He was saying she's fine as she is got me đđđ
Saaaaaaaaame!!!!!
This is a show I must have buried in the deep recessed part of my brain. Seeing clips is bringing back all the memories of watching this as a young kid. Seeing it now I understand why I and so many other people have self-esteem issues and body dysmorphia.
As someone with body dysmorphia who recently broke the fuck down and considered plastic surgery seriously for the first time in my life- I needed this video. It's making me want to fucking sob lol I feel for these women so hard. It's difficult to look in the mirror and see the fucking monster everyone says you are

It really ainât that bad. The women did want to be on there itâs not like they were forced đ€Ł
@@caitlinlindsay8418 Producers of these shows prey on people who suffer from extreme self esteem issues and toxic relationships, just because they "chose" to do it doesn't mean it isn't a disgusting premise and predatory.
Apparently the husband was made out to be a really bad guy due to editing. He actually mentioned how he loved his wife's smile etc.
...with piles of money; which however, won't warm their empty, soulless hearts...
@@caitlinlindsay8418 you never really know what something is going to be like until you experience it and go through it so I think saying they signed up for this is a bit toxic because then it discourages people to express their emotions when going through things that could've traumatised or mentally harmed them
Are these "counselors" licensed? If so, they're being very unethical
Just yoink those licenses
hey man, just wanted to say i really enjoy your videos and i just found your channel today. itâs honestly really underated and idk why more people donât watch you and bacon aliens channel. keep it up
On "what not to wear",they show them how to "highlight their natural beauty" AFTER humiliating them through hidden cameras, with all their family and trusted ones shittalking about them and their taste. None of these shows is healthy, that's the point
Not to mention the major slut shaming and the fact the get rid of all the character and personality from the contestants
My friend knows a person who was a contestant and she really hated it, and it actually ruined the relationship with her friends and family that signed her up. Because it's important to remember another premise of the show is that you don't sign yourself up as a contestant, your friends determine you look bad and sign you up for you. Like at the end they throw a huge party to show how good you look now, but apparently that just feels more like being filmed while your friends tell you how ugly you used to be when you dress in your own clothes.

The first husband, I am not one to make physical insults but with his attitude, the dude looks like he got smacked in the face with a shovel maybe he should sit down and love his wife.
this schmuck didn't deserve her anyway
I'm too lazy to go check who you mean but if you mean the guy who said his wife is average; he got tricked into saying that! Right after saying that he also added "when she's happy she's beautiful" or something along those lines but that was cut out to make him look bad and to bring more drama to the show. There's a link to an article about this in another comment thread, that's where I learned this
