    When I was a theist, I used to watch him to debunk atheists. At first, I found him somewhat rational because before that, I used to listen to Bangladeshi scholars who would shout against atheists. In comparison, he seemed rational at first. However, as I grew and learned more, I started finding his arguments shallow. In the first six months of that period, I would say, "I can't think against Allah because I've been invested in it since I was six, so I can't go against Allah." Then, I started watching GM Skeptic and Alex. That's where I found my journey into philosophy and new life

No one came not any godmen neither any ‘GOD’. Maybe there is some supreme being but one thing that I realised they are not even bothered about our well being, because they are not different than us, I would not be bothered if some micro bacteria is dying somewhere, we are the same to that supreme being. They only people who are benefiting are frauds and scammers like GODmen , people who are too afraid to face the reality often seek shelter in these false hopes theses godmen spreading, like jannat jahannum, god will make everything right ect

    I was thinking about the "you cannot prove non-existence of anything". Why though?
    I can say with absolute certainity that a working water pump that doesn't pump water, is non-existent, based on the very contradiction I made first, that 1. It's a working water pump, by definition it is supposed to pump water, and 2. Next line contradicts exactly what I mentioned earlier, that it doesn't pump water. Yes, there are things that don't pump water, but are they water pump anymore?
    With the same line of thought, if I describe the characteristics of something, and I cannot observe anything related to the characteristics of that something in first place, I can say that something we are talking about, in the contexted presented, doesn't exist.
    A Unicorn doesn't exist because it is agreed that it kinda looks like a horse, but has a tusk like a narwhal on the head.
    We have observed the realm that unicorn could exist in (Land and Air), and there is no unicorn anywhere, no radars have spotted one.
    So we can say that unicorn doesn't exist, and the burden of the proof of existence is on the one making the claim.
    If I misunderstood this, could you please make a video on this too?

    • @VeganSanatani
      @VeganSanatani Před 6 měsíci +3

      The sentence "a working water pump that doesn't pump water" is an oxymoron..
      It's either a working water pump, or not..
      You can say "which is not pumping water"..
      Because in that case , we are talking about a specific time frame, where the pump is not pumping water.

      Just because we didn't observe any unicorn on the surface of the earth, doesn't allow us to conclude unicorn doesn't exist.
      (Assuming we have thoroughly searched on the earth surface), the only calim we can make with confidence is that, "there is no alive unicorn on the earth surface at this moment". You can't claim unicorn didn't exist in the past. You can't claim they won't exist anywhere on the universe. What you searched is on the earth surface so make calim only limited to that.

    • @Anxh007
      @Anxh007 Před 6 měsíci +1

      You can prove nonexistence of something surely

    • @beyondwaveforms3059
      @beyondwaveforms3059 Před 6 měsíci +2

      @@Lonewolf-xv1bl We can claim that there was no unicorn based on the fact that there is no evidence for it. The existence of unicorn is to be given by someone who claims that it exists, in which case the burden of proof is on the person making the claim. Negative claims don't mean that you go out and scour the entire universe to prove it doesn't exist.
      For Example: Someone saying god exists is an extraordinary claim, aka existence of a super being that controls everything we know exactly how we know it to be and it has the power to create or destroy something and influence human affairs too.
      Existence of such a being was never proved and never will be, because it doesn't exist, there is no contradiction in evidence against this, so for all intents and purposes, god doesn't exist as we don't see any of the works this super being is supposed to do, or any side effects of this. What does this mean? It doesn't exist. If you say it might exist and I don't believe in one, prove how it might exist and anything shrouded in mystery which could be works of such being.
      I am inventing a mythical creature 101 legged mosquito with head as big as planet and heart and brain small as lump of cells. Is it possible for you to say this doesn't exist?
      I know it doesn't exist because I just made it up.

    Pam Reynolds case , can you make a video on it ? Or any fellow atheist clarify ?

    • @dan_goodman
      @dan_goodman Před 6 měsíci

      Here's the wiki summary for the case:
      Pam Reynolds Lowery (1956 - May 22, 2010), from Atlanta, Georgia, was an American singer-songwriter. In 1991, at the age of 35, she stated that she had a near-death experience (NDE) during a brain operation performed by Robert F. Spetzler at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Reynolds was under close medical monitoring during the entire operation. During part of the operation she had no brain-wave activity and no blood flowing in her brain, which rendered her clinically dead. She claimed to have made several observations during the procedure which medical personnel reported to be accurate.
      Within the field of near-death studies and among those who believe in life after death, the case has been cited as well-documented and significant, with many proponents considering it to be evidence of the survival of consciousness after death. An anesthesiologist who examined the case offered anesthesia awareness as a more prosaic and conventional explanation for such claims. Reynolds died from heart failure at the age of 53 on May 22, 2010, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
      ------
      Basically, a woman died during an operation and claimed to have experienced being outside of her body looking on at the operation and then briefly went to the afterlife and met her relatives, came back, etc. Some people will use this as their 'proof' that conciousness exists separate from the body and that there's an afterlife. NDE's vary by a person's beliefs and by the people themselves.

    Yes, Theists tend to misunderstand this Morality thing so much and use it in their narratives.
    Morality is man made. That helps us decide the objective morality in the given scenario.
    All the heinous crimes we do is nothing if we consider the size of this universe.
    But as humans, we have empathy. We can understand the pain and misery that other humans are going through.
    That's why morality is only a human concept, and not applicable to animals.
    We consider "collective wellbeing" of our kind while creating morals.

      Self explanatory. Also it is "consider the size of universe" not " compare the size of universe"
      All the war crimes, r*pes, etc.
      Human life is as insignificant as a Sloth in this universe.
      Living with this mentality is toxic.
      We have empathy which helps us build our morals.
      Human morality isn't a logically consistent either. We think killing someone is bad, yet we kill animals for food. We are hypocrites and we differentiate pets with chickens and cows.

      There is no such thing as objective morality because the concept of right and wrong is actually created we humans and this concept of right and wrong only exists in the mind of human beings.
      Now if you misrepresent this argument, you'll say that I'm trying to justify murder or something like that. But actually I didn't say that doing anything like that is fine. I just said that the concept of right and wrong is created by us.

      @@shreyyadav8809 okay, then why dont you say murder is fine? and the same goes for cannibalism/incest etc. because if you have no objective morality, or if you dont beleive it exist then you dont have any reason to go against these ideas. you would have to accept that these extreme actions are just as moral as their counterparts. the fact that genrally all people would have th esame opinions on theese points is a proof for objective moralty. how can people from different backgrounds/religions end up on a extremly similar morality? we have an innate compass that tells us what is wrong and what is right

    • @ba4e
      @ba4e Před 6 měsíci

      @@mcnoscope7940Is an act moral because God approves of it, or does God approve of it because it is moral?
      And there is no such thing as objective morality.We have seen morality evolve with time like most things(you're most likely religious so check out some of your own scriptures for confirmation eg child marriage, slavery,etc if you're a Muslim)
      Also the reason we can criticize these things is that they clearly go against our axiomatic desires which would include looking after our well being, minimizing suffering which in itself is ingrained in us through evolutionary processes (you can't really disagree with this)
      And most of our moral stands are based on this thing and that's one of the reason things like moral licensing,moral dissonance exist
      For anyone to come and say murder is right would mean he is going against this very notion of right for everyone else and hence we collectively say that the person is crazy as we will again prioritise maximizing our well being and hence punish such people or something
      So saying person is objectively wrong is pretty much a simpler approach as the collective good will be favoured

    Dont you guys think, whoever is reading this comments, there should be a necessary being for existence?
    Did the universe come into being by itself or is it always existing or there must be a cause for it to exist? There has to be an answer..
    You cannot say it came into existence on its own or the universe created the universe ,its illogical . If you really think about it, the phone that you are using now can you ever believe it exists by its own? No somebody has created the phone. So it cannot exist by its own..
    Now if you believe the universe is always existing then its also a fallacy since we know the universe is expanding and we even know the age of it now some 13.8 Billion, so that means it cannot be always existing..
    since it has started and even now expanding.so you cannot say it was always there...
    Now the third point
    Something has to cause the universe to exist.
    People conceive things or accept something to be true if that has some evidence or logic..
    For example if you want to calculate the sum 1+2+3+4+5+....+30Quintillion or Zillion
    We can calculate it using a simple math formula. Since it is logical we accept it, we dont really physically count Quintillion of things to verify it.
    Similarly evidence does not mean it has to be physical..We do not have physical evidence of gravity but we feel it and through logic we believe it to be true.
    Since the universe is not always existing or it cannot be created by itself, so there must be a cause a supreme being that caused the universe to exist. We simply say The Creator or God.
    Now if you ask okay then who created god?
    Okay even if I assume somebody else has created god, then again it would be who created that somebody..so it would be who created god then who created that god and then who created that that god and so on..it became a chain..A infinite regress
    Now since we exist, the universe exist then that chain must stop somewhere...otherwise we would cease to exist..
    For your understanding what I said,
    Suppose you want to travel somewhere so you ask permission from person A, but that person also asks permission from person B, B asks C, C asks D,D asks E and so on..................
    Now can you ever go to travel? Since the chain of asking permission from the other person is an infinite regress, you would never get the permission..
    So for you to get the permission the chain must end somewhere . As in the example if Person A gave you the permission or C gave you the person then you would be able to travel..
    Similarly in the case of universe the chain of cause must end somewhere and we call that supreme being or creator.
