I did too, it's nothing to be ashamed of. He's a good base level shoulder for young men to lean on when they first enter college and realize they're no special. He won't cure your depression, he won't help you set your life in order but some of the things he says including about being precise in your speech(ironic considering the video) are helpful for some certainly. It's all about growing out of his weirdo ideas all based around Christian Nationalism

jordan peterson is kind of a grifter when he talks about his area of expertise of psychology as well. he is an egregiously offensive grifter when he stops talking about psychology. even a psych undergraduate can tell you how flimsy his arguments about iq are, yet he continuously lectures about them and people take him seriously just because of a degree.

"What is 'God'?" "What is 'believe'?" It was hilarious, and he was rightly criticized for it right then and after that there was a meme-fest on sm.
Additionally, he is also a gen*cide supporter, which is concerning given his attempt to present his religion in moral terms.

I don't think you should compare Jordan Peterson and Sadhguru. I get it and even I don't agree with everything Jordan says. But a lot of what he says is correct and is helpful, and also intellectually thought provoking. Whereas sadguru is just another grifter fake guru wannabe Osho.

When I first heard that he mentioned "Be Precise" as one of the rules in the book, the very first thought I had was exactly the one you're talking about; he is just being a hypocrite as he is not walking the talk. But to give him the benefit of the doubt, I think he what he means by "Be Precise" is "Say as much as you have to say about any given thing so as to present your thoughts comprehensively." "Precise" should not be confused with "Concise," rather it's more like 'Be as comprehensive as possible regardless of the coherence." Haven't watched your video fully yet, stopped at 2:00 to type this in.

I also was going to object to saying about Lobster Boy that "we all know he is a believing Christian" but the video sort of covers it.
The Roger Penrose interview in particular had me feeling the same way, I think they were discussing consciousness and it's relation to physics. He was out of his depth in no time and kept getting straightened out by Penrose(in a civilized manner ofcourse), he convolutes a lot to the point which is isn't necessary and although it seems harmless at first, it seems like his interpretation is deliberately made inaccessible to casual listeners to give his words plausibility, much like a sophisticated fortune teller. I used to respect him but it becomes quickly apparent when he speaks to brilliant minded academics and better read people like Dawkins and Penrose on topics which they specialise in.
Never have I understood what does sadhguru say ....or infact all these babas ...they make simple things sound so freaking complicated....
I don't think belief is as unyielding to volition as you think it is.
An obvious example is any subject you are not well informed about, once you seek more information, you'll update your view. In the same way, choosing to learn about arguments for and against religion can shift your beliefs, even if only slightly. I can't make myself believe there's a tiger in my room right now, but if I choose to spend time with certain arguments, my beliefs will change.

The answer is no. JP wouldnt do that unless he can hedge a bit, he’d leave thew tiniest of wiggle room. If he says that he believes a man came from the tom, doesn’t necessarily means that he believes that he risen from the dead. I see everybody jumping up and down, saying that he admitted that he believes that Jesus risen from the dead. Now you can get him to commit because he took his. He didn’t take no stance. He will just say some guy came from a tune, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it was Jesus rising from the dead. You have to go in for a kill when you talk to JP. Or he will resurrect again. If you get a probably or a maybe from him. He is not finished. That is a hedge , b you have to squash that.

Dr. Peterson confuses me when he discusses the Bible, God, or both, though I think I understand most of what he says about other subjects. But it's hard to know what the Bible means when it tells me that God's spirit moved across the waters. How does someone move across anything when he doesn't take up space? It seems reasonable that a nonphysical person can make things happen to a material object. I have no idea what it mean to say that a nonphysical object travels from one place to another.

A cover of psychology works in the US and a veil of spirituality works in India. I am trying to say that, from the POV of scamsters, they are the best of both worlds.

You have to appreciate how Petersen himself knows how stupid his belief is and tries to avoid the answer, unlike so-called Muslim intellectuals who have the guts to say they believe Mohammad rode a flying donkey.
