Just use a garden hand trowel to dig around your existing sprinkler heads before installing.

Depending on the soil sometimes you can just push them into the ground with your foot.
There is a drill attachment on Amazon or eBay that will allow you to cut around your sprinkler head in lieu of using a garden trowel

If these had a saw cut on the bottom you wouldn’t have to dig up your grass!!!
