You took the cap off and looked into the sprinkler and saw three rocks. How did you get the three little rocks out of the bottom of the sprinkler body? This is a really good video. Thank you for making it.
Hi! I am a 64 year old woman and I followed your instructions to the letter and I just replaced my sprinkler head successfully! My old sprinkler head was a mess and needed replacement, so I purchased one. I foolishly installed the new head when there was still water in the sprinkler hole - rookie mistake. Of course no water came out - it was completely clogged. I waited a couple of days for the water to dry up, took out the new sprinkler head, and disassembled and cleaned it according to your instructions, and then reinstalled it. It works wonderfully! Thank you for being such an amazing teacher! 😃
Nice!
I like to run the sprinkler for a bit with out the head if doing a replacement. This way it clears out the pipe which may have dirt in it from the removal.
good to hear that,
sir can you tell me what is the name of the sprinkler this man used in the video, also what what you suggest i should use in a small lawn of 20 ft x 10 ft
So clear! Love that you address something after fixing it and it isn’t fixed! Perfect.
nice video... I really like the outtakes, so people can see that it isn't always as simple as you make it look in the final video.
That was the most useful how-to for sprinkler repairs I have seen….well done
Greatest insight I’ve ever learned. If the problem is just the guts of the sprinkler, why replace the entire plastic sprinkler. Thank you very much!
Tried minutes ago with two sprinklers, located along the walkway to the front door. WORKED!!!!! YOU MADE MY DAY, , MY WEEK, MY SUMMER!!!
Can’t say enough THANKS!
I like being self-sufficient, and appreciate the detail of your video. TY and subscribed.
Thanks so much! Single lady and need all the help I can get! Love the bloopers!
Very helpful. Now I'm much more comfortable making minor repairs to my sprinkler system. Wish me luck!
This was so helpful! I had no idea sprinklers came apart like this. I have been searching for the perfect 4 ft pop-up and didn't know I could just change the shape of the nozzle. thank you.
I applaud you, as some women are just scared to try, but you seem the 'go-getter', go for you!
4 ft pop-up?! Are you watering a football field?
Rock on dude.. I walk around last week and found some issues of heads to low and needed to rise them a few but its always nice to see sprinkler head issues and rather easy to see how simple it is to fix them. Your video was rock on solid.
Your video gave me the confidence to try and repair a sprinkler head on my mother-in-law's system. Success! Thanks.
Very good video. I have been fixing my heads myself and I am getting better each time. Thanks for this helpful video.
Love the out-takes at the end!!! Now when I go to follow your tips I won't feel disheartened when things don't go perfectly : ).
Great tip on keeping the spare parts that are still usable. I have a plastic tub on a shelf with random parts. It’s saved my bacon more than once.
My BEST improvement was installing a wifi sprinkler controller. This way I can test my sprinklers and repairs without having to walk all the way back into my garage (where my control box is installed) and then back to my sprinklers. It's a game changer. It also allows me to turn off my sprinklers from anywhere if it starts to rain. AND, there are some pretty significant rebates on many wifi controllers from state or local government programs (I live in CA).
To prevent mud clogging up your sprinkler, i suggest using a cut off piece of PVC piping (in Europe we use them for sewage and drains) and dig it in around the spriknkler to the sprinkler is in the middle. The void between the sprinkler and pipe you then fill with little rocks. This way you have clean space around your sprinkler, even if it leaks water it never gets muddy and thus dirty. Learned this from a gardener.
Very good tip
Good suggestion. My neighbor has done this and the install was poorly done and looks lousy. No consideration to aesthetics. Most sleeves are sticking up all cockeyed and crooked no use of gravel. I’m sure there is a way to make it look more professional. Lol.
@@stevelopez372use black pvc, which is sometimes available for sewer use.
THAT IS A GOOD IDEA... especially where the ones that get broken also if you ever cap one sprinkler off always put a coin or maybe a metal washer... just so you will be able to find it... always have sprinkler people give you a sprinkler layout or take pictures. its not fun trying to find them 10 years later.
I see this at work(residents) sometimes.
its a little extra effort for extra survivability. set the pvc right though or it looks janky.
great information. took me about 30 years to learn this without you tube.
This is just what I needed to see. One on my sprinkler heads was turned 45º inadvertantly by the a national lawn-care service aerating my lawn last fall with a plug-punching implement. I've been watering my neighbor's empty driveway for 15 minutes every two days because of this. I'm going to readjust it myself in the morning. Thanks for making and posting this great how-to video.
Thanks! With the timeline I was able to go directly to the part of the video i needed. Great job!
I need to do this to mine also. Thanks for the tips!
Very helpful. Gives me confidence that I correct my problem!
Jan from Poland. Thanks for the advice. I will have a bash tomorrow to try and sort it out.
Thanks so much for the easy do it yourself video.
Thanks so much for the tutorial. It has been a while since I have done this work. So thanks for the refresher. Keep up the good work.
Man that was a great help! Now I feel confident in doing my own. Thank you!
Thanks dude. Quick and to the point.
Appreciate your time and knowledge, I really just asked " why are areas only being sprayed and. Not others ... Turns out the very tops chipped, and I can go get replacements 🙌 I fixed the timer a few months ago...
Wonderful tips. Thanks
Just what I needed! Thanks!

Love the outtakes!
Didn't know about the notch designating the left side of the sprinkler head. Nice tid bit there! Thx!

Love the outtakes at the end!
Thank you sir, this helped me out so much.
Thankyou. This video helps me to understand better
LOL! Great video minus some of the audio in the middle cracking. Very helpful info. Love the outtakes at the end.
Awesome. I followed your steps and was able to fix a couple of sprinkler heads all by myself. Thanks!
Great tips and explanation
I’m about to tackle a pretty big sprinkler system and could definitely use some advice!!
Thank you! Very useful!
Really helpful....thanks!
Thank you for explaining your tasks in easy terms. I’m a single mother so I am the one that fixes easy stuff around the house. It’s easy to follow your directions. Also I love your blurps at the end of your show. It shows you make mistakes too! 😂
Why do single mothers always have to let everyone know that they are a single mother?
Clark- clearly you are (1) CLUELESS and (2) disrespectful!
She is a single mother, ffs!!!
Mothering job is 24/7- but, for your braincells, let's call it her FIRST FULL-TIME JOB that sometimes leave many a sleepless nights as well.
Workforce job (PAID) would be HER SECOND FULL-TIME JOB.
Her household upkeep, laundry, plus grocery shop & prep would be HER THIRD FULL-TIME JOB.
Emergencies or issues such as addressed in this video aren't common events that allow a SINGLE mother the time or financial resources to handle so she must learn to do what she can on her own! Already impacted time & emotionally with THREE full-time jobs but with only ONE paying job...it is perfectly acceptable, even honorable to mention "single mom."
I expect all helpful-channels feel a deeper satisfaction they helped an already OVERWORKED woman.
All I can say to YOU (commenter) is "WOW!" (smh...in disgust!)

Thx. Enjoyed n found it so educational.
I’m going to try this for the first time.
Thank you for sharing.
Great info! Thanks
great info and easly understood
Great video. Thanks
Hi just a quick tip, when it pisses like that from bottom before you do anything, try to pump it down with your foot while its working a couple times. It's gonna evacuate any dirt or debris that is between the while seal and the part that goes up when it's working. Most of the time i just pump it and it fixes itself.
Very very helpful!
Wow love the video! So helpful lol it is complicated 😃👍🏻
Thanks! I have this Problem and till now, i dont knew that i could open the housing :)
Great info. Thanks
Thank you!
I modified a 3" diameter tubular "stand up" bulb planter by sharpening and serrating its bottom edge. Makes quick work of keeping sprinkler heads free of dirt and grass.
That's what I use also.
Worked exactly the way you said. Save me time &$ Thanks
Been in the irrigation business for 37 years Rainbird 1800 series is the most durable sprinkler head made These are the only ones I install on new systems The Van nozzles will chip if you hit them with a line trimmer In my area we use mostly 4-6inch pop ups When I do a repair I install what ever brand is already there just to keep everything the same
Very cool. Thanks
Good tips, thanks
excellent video
Helpful, thank you!

thanks for the video man. liked and subscribed 👍
Great job, nice to clean filter 1st.
Thanks. Subscribed!
Thank you!!!
Great video. Appreciate the time it took to do this. Do you have any videos that cover layouts and how to design a system for us doit yourselfers?
Good video.
As someone who works on irrigation systems for a living the reason the head isn’t right on the cement is because when you edge it will chew the heads up also why not use a 15 quarter nozzle instead of the adjustable van nozzle you will get better coverage with the regular nozzle
Jon, if I may I had a few quick questions - 1) I have an adjustable spray head in the same exact spot as shown in the video - I want to water the thin grassy strip across the sidewalk and adjacent to the road - should I replace the stationary spray with something else or perhaps change out one of the other heads in the middle of the front lawn to a rotor and let it "arc" over the sidewalk onto the strip? I don't have any piping in the strip areas to put a sprinkler. 2) Assuming like-for-like pop-up height, GPM nozzle, etc. can we interchange sprinkler brands? I think all of mine are Hunter but I have seen videos were people like Rain Bird better. My controller is a Hunter Pro-C. And 3) how do we determine the PSI of our irrigation system easily (and where would I do it?) I am fairly handy with tools, etc. Thank you in advance.
Very good
Good vid, thanks bud !!
Nice man thanks so much
Hey Joel. Have you thought about acupuncture for your back I have had back problems in past and it’s amazing for pain may help bonnies headaches as welll

Ha. Love the out takes
Good video !
Sometimes on the video because the top is black if you don't get close to the top part of the sprinklerhead you can't actually see what you're doing .but I do like the videos they've helped me a lot I've prepared my own Sprinkler heads.
Thanks for saving thousands at our Church grounds
Good video. Thank you. I’ll be changing sprinkler’s missing head. I think the lawn care guys knock it out with the edger or lawn mower.
Do you have any helpful tips for moving a sprinkler head?
Good video..
