The TAS25 is made by a Florida inventor and is distributed via dealers. This video is NOT sponsored.
If you want one, you can call Rice's Outdoor Power and they can arrange shipping: (941) 746-4234
TAS25 - $25.99 (available at dealers)
I have an Echo PAS225 and these are the parts I had to buy in order to make this work. This would be the same for ALL Echo string trimmers. I'm not sure about other brands:
Here is what I got:
Blade Plate - Part C535000100 $25.99 (dang!)
Blade Fixture - Part C535000150 $10.99 (dang!)
Nut - Part 90051300010 $2.99 (dang!)
Cotter Pin - they gave me free lol
I bought an additional trimmer attachment for my PAS225 which was an investment of $69.99 Part 99944200540

Your editing has gotten insane man, just so entertaining
thanks bro - gotta keep it fun or I will go insane!
It’s amazing seeing a meme form in front of your eyes. The “Wo!” at 0:14 is perfect. I had to comment first before continuing the video.
I used them on the golf course, they are great time savers in the right hands. Yes, the guard does need to come off to max full potential of head cleaning. This is a great way to make a yard "pop" if you have good grass, like yourself, Sir. Plus you will enjoy much better coverage from your heads as well, but you know that. Enjoy your sunshine.
Bring on the green screen commentary!
Only OG subscribers can truly appreciate it!
hoorah bro!
Love any tool that makes a job easier. That's why the Lawn Care Nut is my lawn care tool. 😎
Nice vid, loving the lawn hacks type stuff like this and the mower oil change thing!
Man, being a cool season guy I’m amazed at how the grass can literally overtake anything! Last year when you had to get the solons out of your bushes was unbelievable. Cool tool. Keep the green screen vids coming! Ah the good old days....
My stolons are more destructive to landscaping than weeds in the summer.
It was great to meet and talk with you Alan.
Hope to again 🤝
I have a centipede lawn which is similar. 25 irrigation heads. I feel like the upkeep with the donuts would be more than occasionally trimming around a head. For my lawn at least. Even at the maximum height my lawn would ever be my heads have enough clearance which helps
Great vid mate. I've never seen sprinkler donuts before. Most lawns here in Australia don't even have sprinklers let alone donut things to protect them lol.
When I was on the golf course we would be trimming sprinkler heads over the whole course once a week. The tool is definitely worth the investment: 1. for the time it saves, and 2. For the clean crisp cut it leaves behind with little effort
That’s really awesome! Thank you Allyn.
Doughnut cleaning has been revolutionized. 👍🏼
I have a echo pas 225 they are good for power and attachments they are good for everything btw love the videos keep up the good work
Nice tool to have for sure, thanks for sharing!
I’m in Dallas and don’t have lawn donuts and have never seen one before....but now I have a winter lawn purpose!
It would be cool to get your lawn outfitted!
This video was really satisfying to watch
thanks! It was satisfying to make too! 👊
With your knarly st. aug I would go with a 6" pop up head.
Thanks for the cred! I get down and cut around mine every two to three weeks so that will likely save me lots of time but the tea savor is back and hamstring pain from reaching down.
thanks for the original tip bro! ✊
Great video as usual. Can you share info on the irrigation timer/controller? I have a 2 zone system and looking for one I can turn on/off from app.
I wonder if you could do something similar with a hole saw bit on a drill.
Last part was epic!
Just ordered one, thank you Al
Where did you order yours from? I can’t find it
I love the green screen stuff. I wish I could re-subscribe. 😎
thanks bro!
Go back and watch his original green screen days! 👍🏼
I think this would be a must have with that type of aggressive turf! And cut it out with that green screen stuff!!!😂
I love the green screen, reminds me of the "good old days"
me too!
Lol that was awesome bro. The editing was hilarious 😂. Great video!
thanks bro! You ever run across one of these things?
@@Thelawncarenut ive seen them on lawn care trucks and at various mom and pop shops but never used one myself. It looks like a beast to control with overgrown St.Aug. Im very interested and will be making this part of my arsenal come spring when i do my back yard renovation. I have 8 heads right now but plan to add 5 more. It will definitely come in handy for quick domination 👊
Amazon sells one which goes on a handheld drill. You can also pick the size you want
blue guardian how about a link?
Couldn't find one that is 7" for drill. Just tried the 6". Didn't fit.
“If you live in Florida..” I’m subscribed!
Let's all of us northerners up by here take a moment to be thankful we have cool season grass.
for sure it's a literal jungle down here ha ha!😂
Had an irrigation system installed late this fall and know nothing do cool season lawns need the donuts also is there any good websites or videos l can explore to learn more about all my irrigation needs l plan on paying the company that installed it to open and close it because the system comes with an 8yr warranty thanks for your time
Does rices outdoor power offer the tas II for pop up home rainbird sized heads? Or do you reccomend bigger like yours?
Use pebbles for leveling the Donuts, also a simple extended reach hedge trimmer works great for trimming around them. No need for that circular cutter. Looks like all the heads in your yard are sunk, that's why the grass grows over them so easy.
yes for sure, I had to raise a few of them on this run. I have let them go for too long. Thanks for watching.
Love the mud on the camera 📷 👍👍😂
Rices is no longer in business they were bought out and no longer carry these heads, so I’m looking for the TAS trimmer II. Any idea where else i can try? Thanks
Where do I get the adapter parts you used to bolt on the head? Thx
Funny how the Tru Green ad pops up over your video. My lawn has never looked better since dropping their watered down BS products and following LCN! Thanks
Glad the P.A.S. worked for you
it's been an awesome unit.
Here in Texas we have same problem but we just raise the head every couple years very neat tool though.
That is what I do in St Augustine. I use a 3" extender that just screws in place. Otherwise the hole is so deep it is always filled with muck water and dog pee. Sometimes snakes too.
awsome brother
This weather in Michigan sucks big $#@$$# lol. Finally got to clean yard up and put down my last app of fert. Ground isn't frozen yet but I'm sure in a week it will smh
I cannot find these parts for my string trimmer. Where do I look, because I contacted a dealer today and they did not have these additional parts and didn't know where to get them either.
I'm gonna start a band called "Stoloniferous Activity".
😂🤘🤘
Wow, some of those are really bad. My St. Aug refuses to thicken up so I haven't had this problem yet.
Omg b you’re killing me lol. Is it spring time yet. I miss working on my lawn already and it’s only November. Damn New England lol.
I'll keep the sunshine flowing all winter for you right here!
I do beveled cuts with my string trimmer around each head about every other time I mow. The ending was funny.
fancy fancy 😂👊
would spraying a growth regulator around all of the heads be an effective way to reduce growth around the sprinklers?
A lot of heads? Who has more than one "head?"
Where can I purchase the power one from? I can’t find it
I like buying the donuts from Lowe’s for 1.50$. If the head is deep, I stack them to reach the surface. Works pretty well
I like the old fashion handheld donut cutters , but my yard only has 15 sprinkler heads .
I wonder if I could get it on a Ryobi attachment I have a 2nd one
you can call the TAS inventor - their website is a little bit old school but it's legit. The guy who invented it is here in Venice - nice dude - he could help you with the sizing I'm sure.
I wonder if this is for mainly tttf or your St. Augustine? I have Bermuda in California and have never seen these in my life! Maybe because 90% of the Bermuda is reel mowed and they’d stick out like a sore thumb.
How nice would this be in Arizona. We need a smaller version.
Holy donuts, Batman!!
Do you still recommend the donuts
Lawn care nut where can I find some cheap sprinkler donuts?
What a major pain in the ass. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing
Sweet!
As a lawn sprinkler service person from Michigan this subject is really interesting and also confusing to me. It seems as though some of the sprinkler heads are set too low in the ground? However, I know lawn types in michigan and florida are very different.
I like it! Brah, that creeping bermudagrass though...
No doubt, it has taken over a large section. ☹️
You need to do more green screen stuff!!! 👍🏼
Cool tool hey loving Florida I’m in Siesta Key Beach area from Cali smoke a Cigar bro
Now that the temp has dropped this is cigar smoking weather around Sarasota.
LMAO,That's some serious lawn you have there, Have you thought about a Hybrid Bermuda? I enjoy your vids, I go to you and a couple of others for info, thanks
No bermuda allowed here in this hood - it's considered invasive.
Dude, you’re hilarious
AL- What do you think about your Echo PAS system? I’m looking to upgrade and a follow up review since you bought it would be awesome.
I’ve been watching since the ole’ days when you were back in NW Indiana and the other house in Florida. Thanks for the awesome content Bro!
it's well worth the money. I have no complaints.
Saw Palmetto will help with your flow.
What a Stash!
That damn Bermuda be burying them heads. Time to trim!
Is there another place to purchase the TAS25?
Watching a guy trim doughnuts. I’ve truly lost my friggin mind 🤯 thanks Al over by dare.....
you have reached true nuttiness!
"you can get some blow out in the hole"..... Well...... Yeah.
I knew it was in the comments 😂😂
"Do Not Eat"! Lol, have to teach my dog that too...
7:10, 7:14 & 7:18 🤣🤣 So funny.
Thanks for all the info 👍
You could also mount a 6 1/2" Hole Saw Bit from HFT's Large Hole Saw Set for about $15.00!
When I was doing Landscape Maintenance, we did this with a 6" Deep 3" Diameter Bit. As we don't use the "Concrete Donuts" up here in Washington State. -From what I know...🤔
Take care,
🤓 -Thomas
Western Washington State🌲🌧
Green screen Truuuuuuuuths!👊😎
👊
Not for digging out neglected rings…proceeds to dig out neglected rings…lol..looks like it worked just fine..
I am considering buying this attachment for my ryobi 25cc expand-it series gas trimmer. Where did you find the extra parts to adapt it to your echo? I found multiple dealers for the cutter head but no one has anything listed as adapter kits. Thanks.
The dealer had those extra parts. You may not need them for your trimmer. I took mine to the dealer and we matched it all up in site.
Could you provide the diameter of the hole on the attachment please? Thanks Allen
@@njneer7511 I don't know it off top of my head, but here is the website and I think they give you the specs www.tastrimmer.com/
Is this a warm season thing. I’ve never seen these doughnuts before. Were you aware of them when you lived in Indiana?
I grew up here so I've always known about them but for sure they are not as needed up north. Our grass types grow with very fat, thick stolons - alpha male grass - and we need to have concrete to help keep them from eating our heads.
@@Thelawncarenut Lawn donuts come in two sizes, not just one.
@@StrikitRich For residential I've only seen the 6.5"
@@Thelawncarenut there's a bigger size for the big rotary heads.
@@Thelawncarenut There's a smaller size for pop-up heads. I use the 6.5" only around the bigger rotary heads.
That red piece looks like Mr. Bill. lol
Its the dominator. With a moustache
Are there really yards in the south with 7 in holes cut in them?
Yes everywhere believe it or not.
Ah, sprinkler maintenance. I do that every spring. Every year there are sprinkler heads that need to be replaced.
why are the blades so short? shouldn't they be like 4" long?
The concrete ring looks exactly like the wax rings used for sealing under toilets
yes it does ha ha!
A "Lower Profile" Spindle Shaft could also be Fabricated to "Minimize Sprinkler Head Damage"...
I just bought a house in that place they call Disneyland for old people. knew I was gonna need some Donuts those things are expensive 30 bucks apiece on Amazon that's crazy I'm going to have to come up with some kind of mold and make my own
DisneyLand for old people?! 😂I think I live in place similar, The Villages
The mustache and the sun glass makes you look like George clooney
well thank you! 😎
In SA we just use pvc gutter downpipes.
that's a good idea too!
Never seen one of them concrete things in my life.... and our sprinkler head cleaners are only like 4 inches round. And those are to big. When you cut the grass out it looks bad to me when you can see the head and then 3-4 inches of dead space. I usually just use my knife and cut around them.
She said so much.
Having a buried head isn't good. Glad you raised it. Stiff stolons are good though
It's needed to see some daylight for sure.
where can I purchase the donut itself? @The Lawn Care Nut
I get them at Home Depot or Lowes locally
👍🏾 Thanks!
Let's go!! First??
Hahahahaha very good!!!
You just need an old gallon paint (6.5 inch diameter) can with a hole in bottom for nut and bolt for attachment. Sharpen edges and BOOM! You'll be pulling the 7.5 inch core out clean. Lol.
you might need to raise up your doughnuts ha ha
6 inch hole saw without the bit.
Nobody has commented on how deep down his heads are. I just cannot see where that can be correct. You cannot buy 8" risers here in Arizona.
