This video is great. It taught me so much. I wasn't even using the reverse button. I didn't know there were so many secret paths and areas. That's rad. It would be really great to see a camera angle of the reverse button while your playing, so I could really see your technique. Yeah, I would love to see more videos of you playing and talking about this cab. I really want to see your reverse button technique.
I kind of stopped using the reverse button now that I almost always choose manual transmission. If you ever catch me on a live stream, remind me to show or at least talk about the reverse strategy. I just tap it during hard turns. If I hold it the car just goes out of control.

It’s so nice to be able to show real footage now. I used to have to emulate everything. It’s not the same, especially when it comes to these racing games.
I was the champion of Map 1 with the supercar...I ran a Chuck e cheese and my record was #1 for over 3 years but never knew what actually happened when my #2 supposedly beat me, but he was a cheat.

Chris the yawning is priceless man, I couldn't stop laughing 😂. So happy you were able to pick up one of your favourite racers. Emulation is fine for fighting and classic games but racing games, real hardware is the way to go.. Enjoyed the commentary and video as always. Thanks for sharing.
Nice! This and 2049 are a couple of the racing cabs (along with a dozen others) that I'd like to have at some point when there's room. I do have a twin-seat Virtua Racing at least. Got it probably 10 years ago because it was, like yours, $400. Absolutely crazy! The two monitors alone were worth more than that. Although at this point, one of them isn't working at the moment, but regardless... it was an absolute steal. Dude was moving and desperate to sell. But it's also what makes the $700 1ups so crazy. I've spent that or less on 3 different real arcades. Nice driving too. I didn't know about the reverse tech. I mostly played DaytonaUSA. Always liked RUSH but never got to an expect level with it.
I had all the WR at the same time...now I still hold 6 out of 7!...just fyi....love the game...

I can't remember if its in the 2049 version...maybe the console version? There isn't an area to enter initials on 2049 arcade outside of putting in your phone number pin. Unless I'm completely crazy and misremembering haha.

Nice game! There is a tons of arcade racing games, and i like racing games, but i can't play them because, it is hard to run it on Mame properly, and i don't own any arcade hardware. Sure, some of them were ported to PC officially, like a part of some kind of collection of games, but still, i would love to play some of them. But for now, i'm stuck with Need for Speed Underground, playing it for fun. Then i played Flatout 2, trying to beat it, but still no luck because AI is really hard in that game.
I hope you get a chance to try it one day, its a fun one. I used to play NFS Underground, it was a great game!

20:50 The clutch is supposed to give you a slight boost. At least it does on my Rush 2049, I assume this one works the same.
Also I believe it's supposed to give you a boost if you push the clutch in when you get air time.
Thats good to know. I was out there before replying to this and I used the clutch. I didn't see the comment about the boost in air, I'll try that next.

That could be an interesting idea...maybe do a Google Spreadsheet where you can go put your name and times in for each track. I might look into this! Although, I only do 2 laps per track so that would throw off the whole thing haha.

Hey Chris, have you ever seen the Hydro Thunder twin cabinet that has the huge marquee on top?
I have! The arcade I worked in had the big marquee on top. My cabinet may have had one at some point, there's clearly some used holes at the top of the cab.

I know it does up to 4, but probably no more than that. Rush will let you link up to 8 cabs, which is crazy. I don't think too many games allow that.
@@KillerArcadeGames I'm pretty sure I've seen one of the old "Daytona" racers with 8 cabs all lined up.

Sometimes I often dream and wonder if the rest series will ever make a return but then I realise that these corporate shills of the gaming world will only taint and ruined the series through micro transaction and usless packaging. I hope that a fan game or an indie game will take inspiration from it just as ballisticng has for wipeout.
Yeah I think they'd over complicate the game unfortunately. The classic is great, a release of just that would be huge for most.
There was a fan game being made but Warner sent the dev a C&D since he was ripping and using assets from the Rush series. He got rid of all that but the code was his, so he didn't need to get rid of whatever code and programming he had written. It lives under a different title now and is still being developed, too. He wasn't making money off of it either, he was just doing it for fun and cause he enjoyed doing so.
