I wish Digital Eclipse would make a San Francisco Rush Trilogy Remastered. I saw that Atari and Digital Eclipse were interested in San Francisco Rush. Maybe there's more hope than Namco's Ridge Racer. What's annoying is Namco did not announce a new Ridge Racer, but personified it. Sigh... If Rush returns, Namco should be prepared to be criticized. Because Cruis'n, Hot Wheels racing game, LEGO racing game, F-Zero, and even Top Gear are back.
The San Francisco Rush IP will likely be owned by Warner Brothers, as Atari Games (Midway Games West Inc.) was not part of Atari, Inc., which became the current Atari Interactive (Infogrames). Warner Brothers' management is currently too busy with their heads up their own asses to do anything with video games that's worth money. I'd be surprised if their current CEO even thinks video games actually generate revenue for the company at large.
@@boxMAN29 it depends on the game in question & your hardware configuration honestly. Yes, you're not going to be running dolphin on a pentium 4, but if you have a setup with any amount of dedicated VRAM, dolphin is designed to take advantage of it. MAME cannot as it's output is entirely software driven, thus the emulator as a whole is very CPU-bound; this is where dolphin in particular is less demanding on CPU resources than MAME, as there are system configurations which would work better with Dolphin as a result. Dolphin also resorts to using less accurate HLE workarounds to keep system requirements lower while MAME strives for LLE accuracy at the cost of performance. In other cases emulators like Dolphin support features out of the box which MAME does not, such as Force Feedback Effects for steering wheels (though MAT3 does not support this). the MAT3 port of SF rock also runs at a higher framerate than the coin-op by default, though both of these issues can be addressed in MAME with modifications. MAME is usually not the best solution for any 3D accelerated games; Daytona USA for example looks and plays a lot better using the dedicated Model 2 emulator than in MAME. If you can find and use an alternative emulator to play a 3D accelerated arcade title, it'll typically provide a much better experience as: - it will usually be more efficient on system resources using HLE workarounds - support for any resolution and internal anti-aliasing - in most cases, hardware acceleration support to fully replicate effects such as transparency; something that MAME still struggles with in some games today due to it's software rendered output. The issue is that there is no such emulator for the Atari Flagstaff hardware, which is why this solution could be seen as a desirable workaround to some. You also have to remember that this version would also work natively on a nintendo wii or gamecube modded to play games from disk images - running rush in MAME would be next to impossible on the wii's anemic hardware. This project still very much has a reason to exist despite the existence of MAME as a whole. MAME is an ancient emulator that, while I can't prove it with a technical explanation, feels primarily designed for prioritizing 2D graphics with 3D being somewhat of an afterthought...
is this on the gamecube? what has been modded in this and what platform is it for how can i download it, i played the n64 ver to death as akid, every key all shortcuts and secrets.
Why couldn't this be like this in the final version for the Midway Arcade Treasures 3 on all platforms, instead we get like different music, sfx, and voices which is horrible. The only thing that's really good is the gameplay that's it. It's too bad you need to mod this on your wii or pc with Dolphin Emulator in order to play this.
29:39 IT'S DANGEROUS!

That's one way to win
0:27 literally scared me haha
:)

@@BenignStatue71 I already knew.
I guess this is now the definitive version!
If that's what you consider it. It's just a mod.
0:27 JERKFACE!
Just got this on my modded Wii and couldn't be happier. Makes Rush the Rock so much more enjoyable. Simply put, the game just plays better.
💯
Fuck me i didn't even know that version of the game was a thing. Played Rush San Francisco on my N64 for hours...
You can download this mod through the discord in the description down below.
Made my day
The arcade version works on MAME
this is a better solution for people with weaker processors, on top of actually being hardware accelerated...
@@benstein7506 You still need a decent CPU to get games running full speed on Dolphin though

MAME is a finicky thing
@@easter-man Not really, it now has a built in GUI
I never trought the existence of this mordenized console version before, i only played in N64 and saw the videos about the Arcade version.
Congrats on the job! Can you fix the game physics values? Perhaps collecting information in the MAME Rom files.
I didn't make this mod. The people I shout out made it.

Check the discord in the description.
Is the Discord channel still up to find this and others?
It should be. I haven't checked in a while.
So how do I get this? Been waiting 20+ years to play this
It's in the discord link in the description. It's called Rush Legacy Edition.
