  • After capturing and torturing Gollum, Sauron released him with hopes that the creature would lead him to the Ring. What follows would be Aragorn's journey with Gollum, the beginnings of the War of the Ring and the issuing forth of the Nazgûl.
This story comes from The Unfinished Tales by J.R.R. Tolkien and is split into four different versions. In this recording I have attempted to combine them in to one full telling. To do that I have had to rework some sentences to connect the various versions as well as to replace some pronouns with proper nouns for better clarification on who is being talked about. Some of Tolkien's versions vary from each other in significant ways. I have done my best to try to use the versions that fit best with The Lord of the Rings.

This add so much context to the actions of many of the main protagonists! Excellent work!

Nice- thanks for making this! You should consider making a similar video covering major points from the death of Smaug to 2965, which would be a nice primer we could point players to. :)

Maybe this upcoming film could have a lot more to it than general consensus are presuming... This sounds quite fascinating 🤔 👌🏽
