Dusautoir is actually a legend of the game, absolute beast of a player
I used to have the same scrum cap. There the similarity ends.
Same.
One of the best to ever play the game
Too many forget him
As a kiwi, Idt so..!! Well not down here anyway
@@locominyana8916 you don’t hear much mention of him in the northern hemisphere tbf
@@kjb6637 Ofc you wouldn't. That's just a different attitude towards what we'd consider what attributes will be special qualities in a class openside.
@@locominyana8916 I don’t know about that at all. Being a world class tackler? Heavy ball carrier? Quick to the breakdown? Think these are tenets of a model openside anywhere in the world. What’s dusautoir most famous for? His tackling… you can’t honestly believe the whole northern hemisphere doesn’t put a strong onus on tackling for openside flanker’s? Likely has more to do with the AB’s facing dusautoir’s French side twice in a WC, both quite historically significant games.
@@kjb6637 I'm not saying they don't put that sort of emphasis on an openside. It could be his leadership, his intelligence, his attention to detail. All the little things. And as one of these other wicked flankers down here once said, 'he's never seen a drop off sweat' on the guy
An absolute legend
One thing people overlook was how smart a player he was like he knows when a pod is being lifted he's never gonna contest for the ball so he runs past it and looks to snipe the bloke recieving the ball after and he changes his technique depending on the type of player he is about to tackle whether to save energy, allow a contest or to chop a powerful man low
Ultimate flanker
Fabulous player
Magnificent player
He almost did the same again in the 2011 World Cup Final. If NZ hadn't had Big Bad Brad Thorn playing , the game would have been France's
a bristol player i think, or maybe it was london irish, put in 50 tackles during a premiership game 2 or 3 years ago.
Goat forwards performance
I know I'm in a minority on this but I thought he was the best flanker in the world for 5 or 6 years perhaps longer , we all know how good MC Caw and Smith and Burger were for instance but to me this guy was immense for both club and country and almost took France to world Cup glory in 2011 with a pretty average team.
As a Bok fan I always felt the French loosies were in a sense the ultimate test, Hardinouqy (spelling not aure of) was a awesome player. Bentsen, Magne and Chabal prior to these guys also were very good.
@@henkstols9326 Picamoles too… clearly it’s still the case today. The current back row are some of the best they’ve ever had and that’s saying something
That day he woke up and chose war
France were offside at the ruck A LOT during this montage - but good on them for playing to the ref's whistle and winning.
Yeah, NZ are never offside.
@@garywagner2466 NZ play to the whistle and often win 😘
Over 40 tackles in a Rugby Union game is very impressive……..considering the ball is only in play for 25 minutes of a game.
As good as Richie McCaw
Many Rugby League players make more tackles in a game.
Many footballers make more dribbles in a game, what’s your point?
lol yeah because all they do is move it forward, there's hardly ever any moving of the ball OVER the opponents
Thanks for the irrelevant comment. Next an observation about tennis players having more balls.
When you take out scrums, rucks, mauls, lineouts… what else left do they have to do but tackle? If they didn’t tackle more then the game would just be tag rugby?
Most tackles in a rugby union* match.
There’s league players who’ve made close to 100…
easy to do when the opposition runs straight towards you - this guy was hunting prey, running in every direction and covering a lot more ground to tackle his opponents than any linear league player ever would.
nobody cares, no rucks , mauls , lineouts, less effort needed .
There's cricketers who scored more 6's too. Amd f1 drivers who went faster. Or is it irrelevant to compare different sports?
@@andyhunter5869 You do understand the point I'm making is that the title is misleading (because it says "Rugby", not 'rugby union'), rather than simply making a random comparison, right?

Thought France had a white flag? 🐓
Nah you are confused with the English who are wearing a white shirt
The white flag was the flag of Louis the XIV, the Sun king, a very sucessful king in the War, so shut up
True. The french flag was white for centuries
