Here is the thing, I’m English and I remember being 23 yrs old and watching my boys lift the trophy. Wilkinson was our man, you just had that feeling he could do it. Ireland have it with Sexton. But there is a part of me that wants the French to win. Home soil. The sheer love and passion for the game. And with DuPont, they have a talisman, there will never be a better opportunity. What I love above all un rugby is the mutual respect from differents teams and the same perception on greatness as we are witnessing with Antoine Dupont. As a french, i would love my team to lift the ultimate trophy but I wish too England to get on the top form to have the best crunches ever
French supporter here. I don't know if France will win the WC. I hope they will, of course, but there will be such a huge opposition from everywhere. For instance there is no doubt in my mind that England will have recovered in the meantime. They always do. In any case you are right when pointing out the'sheer love and passion for the game' we feel on this side of the Channel, especially in the Sud ouest. And I take this opportunity, as anyone should do, to express extreme gratitude to the British for having invented such a wonderful sport.

Not only the best player of this sport since 3 years, but above all, a good lad with a perfect mentality. Without his work ethic, he wouldnt have make this comeback. His talent would be nothing without a solid character. I think his injury helped him to redefine himself. He became more complete and intelligent in his runs, defence and attack.
I've been watching rugby for nearly 4 decades. I've never seen anyone like Dupont. He's truly special. If he keeps up the trajectory he's on, he'll go down as the greatest ball playing player ever.

Dupont, le roi du raffût. Il n'est pourtant pas très grand par la taille, mais il arrive à raffûter des géants. Incredible!
Il pèse tout de même 86 kg, ça le met à seulement 14 kg du quintal, pour un gars de seulement 1,74 cm, c'est pas rien, il a un centre de gravité très bas, par rapport aux grands gabarits.
Si tous les gars de sa taille faisait ce qu il fait au rugby les grands se feraient raccourcir les jambes!🌞😀 centre de gravite bas ou pas ou il faut une dexterite et une agilite extraordinaire pour passer des raffut dans le bon timing! 🌞C est tout simplement un monstre , si je dois partir a la guerre, je choisis antoine comme compagnon!🌞

Donc Galthié en fait avait commenté le match au cours duquel Dupont se plie le genou et lorsqu'il est sélectionneur que fait-il? Il fait jouer Dupont à tous les matchs, 80 minutes pleines sans aucune rotation. Bref, c'est du Galthié dans le texte. Quand on a une flanquée de demi de mêlées parmi les meilleurs au Monde c'est quasi une faute professionnelle de ne jamais faire tourner. Et Dupont n'est pas le seul cas de figure malheureusement.
His Injury back in 2018 was a rupture of the cruciate ligament, he had an operation 4 days later. He was then out for 6 months.
Sa blessure contre l'Irlande s'est avérée être une rupture du ligament croisé, il s'est fait opérer 4 jours plus tard. Il a été écarté des terrains pendant 6 mois.

I do wonder if a minimum level of ppe should be at least optional in rugby like soft helmets, chest and shoulder padding and knee straps or something. Don’t know what the evidence is in support of them but anything that reduces the risk of injury without endangering other players (eg a hard helmet) seems like decency really. At least until rugby players are paid like footballers
