*** About This Video ***
In this video Dereck Williston from Old School Stereo give first impressions of the inexpensive Coeus Pow VA4.100 four-channel car audio amplifier. - Věda a technologie
For the price that seems like a damn good deal. What I really liked was the fact that it didn't have something like 1200w written on it. It didn't do its numbers but again for the price and the numbers it did put out, thumbs up!
👌😬👍
Thanks for taking the time to do these videos man. I enjoy all of them and I know how much time it takes to shoot, cut, upload...
We appreciate it.
As long as you keep making em, we'll keep watching them.
I like these cheap amp tests. Sometimes you need ro ball on a budget and it good to know what cheap stuff works and what doesn't. Thanks brother!
Your videos are very entertaining man, I love your content and love seeing cheap amps put to the test (maybe because I am an audio geek lol) keep it up!!
Love the content , keep it up brotha !! Bring us some old school stuff soon !
Great find Big D! A great sunday indeed when we get 4 channel class ab amp dynos by both you and Ryan B. At that price its a great deal if you buy two or more for when one blows up.
Note how the amplifier board said 4.80 @ 7:50
So if I'm guessing correctly, this is an 80 watt per channel amplifier, if that's the case it actually makes over the ratings on the board which I'm my book, is a win
Dupe basically duplicates channel 1&2s settings for channel 3&4. I was expecting maybe 50watts per channel out of that thing but that's a pretty good deal for the power it makes. If it sounds good to you then it will sound good to most people looking for something in that price range.
Dupe FTW
Love the vids. Keep them coming.
Good job big D..wat I like the most is u always all about the guts!! Open that board up!!
LMAO!!! I saw this amp a few months back and thought. Wow this looks pretty cool wish big D would test this. Lol. God job as always
Dont worry, I refer to them as tiffany style rca inputs as well. Me and several other people I know
I honestly like the way it looks.
Thanks again for another great video brother big fan or your work keep up my brother Big D
👌😊🤙
Really loving the Rockville’s, very nice!
Great video Big D Wiz 👍
Nice to see him say that he made up the term "tiffany style RCAs". Ive seen this type of connectors on old school PG amps since forever and i thought i was a big dummy for not knowing that, turns out he isnt deceptive when he says not to be surprised if you see a big dummy :D love the vids BigDWiz!! Keep em coming!! You should see if you can get a hold of some more old RF amps with the trapezoidal end caps!!
I have this amp in my 2011Escalade on the 4 Bose 6.5s and front tweeters, i needed a small enough amp with front connections to fit under the 2nd row seat, fits fine and sounds really good but gets pretty warm, now issues with all day playing so I would suggest this amp for someone looking to save space and on a budget.
Yes I wanted to see these ones!
Tested better than I expected.
Love your videos dude keep it 💯 like always
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Live these oddball amp reviews. Theres one thing you cant check with that setup though especially with cheapos.....I bet its a great audio tachometer
Thank you for yet another great video!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@wal Your welcome, no doubt dig all the videos. The range of quality of the amps is really cool to see how they stack up. Thanks again fro spending your time and money to bring these to us.
My Rockville K6 12" subs have been killer too... For $75 each they are outstanding, with 700w RMS each I am putting through them.
This amp is pretty good for a $60 special. Makes more power than name brand amps that cost much more. Great vid...
Really a nice amp and good power for the money !!
I think it did pretty good, u got a really nice budget setup there
I was thinking it would make for a nice budget amp for sure.
Just got an Alpine MRV-F 540 4ch amp from 2002 on the bench. Also has 2 30A fuses, also made in China.
But weights 5,5kg/12lbs.😝
How you keep it together doing the intro is beyond me. Lmao
👍🏽 keep doing it !!
Awe jeah!
Back in the day I would have loved that amp to power 1 12 and 2 6x9 in my old hatchback.
1st impression.... I like the way it looks too.
That style of RCA jack is actually called Tiffany though. So you're not wrong, hehe.
I got the 90.4 version and it sounds pretty damn good for only being a 36$ amp
Currently unavailable with a price hike after this video. 😂
Everybody calls them Tiffany style RCAs now. big D you’re a trendsetter
Is nice n clean looking
Not bad at all. Thanks for vid. Back in the day that would have cost 500 dollars. 1 dollar per watt.
I keep hearing that (1 dollar per watt) it sounds so crazy nowadays especially with all the made up ratings!
@@sullivansouza2709 Yeah it was true. Watts are cheap now.
Alot more to a good amp than just power
@@trudeaumustgo1920 exactly a 20 year old amp would most likely be still going today. These new cheap amps are trash. I would be surprised if it lived past a few weeks or months max
@steelering100 my old mtx blunder 37.5 ×2 was 200 lol. Nice amp though
Big d love your videos man !!!!my favorite was the Korean 3 k compare. Which gave me an idea that I would love to see . Would you do a compare similar to the 3k’s with the most popular 500w mono blocks ?a lot of us, well just me that I know of lol, run one for tunes on a daily and sound great with a decent setup . Would love to see but I know it’s your channel your content and happy with it, anyways see below for a quick list
Rf - prime 500.1
JL jx500/1d
KW -kac -5001
Alpine -mrv m500
Maybe even a Rockville or other brand to compare?
Anyways keep on making great content my man👌🏻👌🏻
Interesting. Never heard of Coeus Pow before. I've been watching your video for the past few weeks, and am grateful for the abundance of information, and your wealth of knowledge on car maps. I only wish I'd have come across you sooner. A friend who upgraded his system recently gave me 2 Clarion 8" subs in a carpeted MDF box. I bought the Kinter MA-150, which turned out to be every bit of what you said it was. I don't have a dyno, but based on my ears, I thought it was a real piece of crap. Thankfully, it was only $12 on Aliexpress. Then, on a quest for something better, I was once again duped into buying a used Legacy LA 1020 for 50 bucks off a guy on Craigslist, who told me it was a $200 amp new. I didn't think it was much better. Later I realized it to be one of those, "Flea Market," amplifiers, seeing one in your video for the Kingwood amp, obviously a copy of a Rockford Fosgate, and a play on words trying to sound like Kenwood. I have become a much wiser, savvy, streetwise consumer thanks to you videos. Many thanks, friend.
Incidentally, I'm still in the market for an inexpensive amp adequate to drive these two 8" Clarion subs. I'm already out $62, so my budget for this is small. I have been considering a few you rated, and tested on the dyno. Looking for something in the $50 range, and considering the Chinese one in this video, The Dual XPR 82D 2 channel, another Chinese one called a Wudi C-236 2 channel, and the Boss Riot 1100M and Blaupunkt AMP 1801 mono amps. Not sure what would be the best, "bang for the buck," in this price range around $50. I was also thinking about the small Taramps Bass 400 you tested, which seemed attractive due to it's small size, but it's a little more than I wanted to spend. Thanks in advance for your help.
I like the looks of this little amp, the power isn't really that bad for a small sound set up. Could you look into testing the ( Gravity GR8200) from eBay
Tube amp review. I like the retro look.
Impressive numbers but reliability is key I’m not sure about it but it does carry a old school look great video !!
That intro tho...!!! 😎🤣😂😂😂😂😂
Love it
I'm always curious about these type of cheap Chinese no name amps too. I'd also like to see that cheap eBay one that looks like a plate amp... There's two different power levels and I'm curious about them.
Figures, you find a gem and it dries up. Found one on eBay as "4-channel amp" for $94. Looked like an older version though, no big emblem, just decal. I was hoping they offered a mono in the same body style. Two monos and a single 4 channel would do what I want!
Oh man I remember back in the day, swap-meet amps costing about this much! They looked big, had "600x2 Golden Eagle" and weighing about a pound with a tiny PCB inside and a basic IC amp, about 10x2 rms tbh!
Yeah see my old video on the Pyramid amp... it took up less than half of the heat sink. They called it “Shadow series” for a good reason 😊
Not bad for a cheap Chinese amp. I was more happy to see a K9 sub at the end. (It would have been nice to see & hear it slam a little.) What box is that BTW? I saw a nice SMD terminal block installed on it but never have seen that come on a pre-fab box unless my boy Steve Meade built it. Thanks for the all the very informative videos as always!
The OEM is Guangzhou Shengxin Electronics Co.
Nice, keep the cheap cheap coming. Plenty of power for door speakers. Budget A/B power ftw...
What are your thoughts on the hifonics 3200.1 im thinking about picking one up
I tried to get custom woofers made from bids in Chinka, and it was a joke.......liars I appreciate the work you do, unbiased testing to weed out the junk from the total junk!
Good vid👍. Not bad at all for the price.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
do a sine wave sweep from 20HZ to 16Khz for demo's
These are also sold under the brand name Cadence with the model number VA4.90
I bet many brands put their logo on amps like this
If you can get a hold of an original JL Audio 300/4 I would love to see how it'll do. It's a popular amp.
Coeus Pow...isn't that the #6 on the China Palace menu?
Maybe the translation is bad 🤔
With fried rice!
Ha!
Yeah, I had that last night with my Pad Thai.
1-6-19 Sold Out on Amazon!!!!
If manufacturers actually halved their numbers for rms this thing would be even more of a solid performer than it already is.
Is it possible that you have made an old school California Profile amp dyno? I know so many people who had them back in the 90s,including myself. They were decent for a first car audio system but know, now, that they were no where near the wattage they claimed. 600x2 channel pushing a pre-made MTX Road Thunder 2 box hahaha yeah right there was no way it was 600watts..... Plus I had a 400x4 die only pushing 8 speakers, each channel ran in series, nothing impressive, entry-level Alpine, Blaupunkts, Boston Accustics and Kickers
Awesome channel and have been a long time subscriber, just started getting back into your channel and videos!
I like to run my amp on the "DUPE" setting.... Forget that Full or High-Pass cross over crap, always, always, always run your amp in "DUPE" mode, it's the best!!
It's a 400 watt car amplifier it's 100 watts times 4 and it will put out 200 watts times 2 if you run it in bridged mode
Hey BigD can you test some xfire audio amps? I heard they are really good
Looks like an old Eclipse amp. Fujitsu ten making a come back into the aftermarket ?
Fujitsu would have crushed the ratings and been clean. This was surprising though
Those are Tiffany style RCA's. Just missing the color ring on the back.
Please do the Rockford Fosgate P325.1 I think it is very under-rated I have mine bridged down to 1-ohm final load and it pushes my 2 12 inch infinity 1262w subs to their limit with alot more headroom
I'm curious about where you got the Tiffany thing from in the first place. Please advise. :-)
Hey big d what's up! Nice video man. I was trying to find that amp and I found one on ebay but it was almost 100 bucks can you please tell me where did you get it at???
Soundqubed known to be really decent subs and amps.... What about the NEW S1 series of amps any chance you can get the S1-850 and give it a test seems great for the money...?
Great for the money, it still isn't available and I wonder if it will be back in stock. I'd buy a few.
Also sold as the Cadence VA-4.100 in other countries
This would explain the Cadence logo on the end plates....
the winner is absolutely the k9. i just picked up a pair of the v2 k9 10's, dropped them in a 4ft3 box tuned @ 30 and the lows are incredible. they're severely underpowered on a single rxd-m2 and i can't pull more than 30 amps from my power supply without everything in the house going nuts. best budget brand EVAR. so impressed and satisfied with rockville! yea, yea, car audio stuff in the house, what can i say, home audio stuff just doesn't seem to come close to the performance of car audio stuff for the money even after you account for the power supplies.
I have one of each size (10, 15) and a pair of 12’s...plan on testing each individually
@@wal will be looking forward to that video :D
Could You do a video comparison of this amp vs the dual xp amps
I've bought some real jems from China lately. They've really stepped their game up.
Let us know with these brands are so we can investigate them
they really are...i like to think that they got sick of being the worlds junk punchline and it lit a fire under them...but its probably just getting cheaper to duplicate decent hardware...who knows...
@Dirtyd23 good point. I'm gonna subscribe to you.
Better than that hifonics I watched earlier. It barely hit 200 watts
Ha!
Hey Derrick please find me the name of that track you are clinching to in the demo of the savard build, your face is classic when it drops, the audio isn’t clear enough to Shazam it. Also I met someone locally that built a custom box for you, stays up past wake forest, he’s built me a couple sick boxes lately. Hit me back -Joey
when an amp doesn't meet its numbers but is somehow still impressive... well dang.
Would you say the sound quality was on point with other cheaper/mid price class AB amps?
Looks like a fine recipe for 1 SUB and 2 6x9s
Sure, get the Budget Blaupunkt 12” sub for $25 and you be rockin’ without breakin’ da bank 😜
Legit!! Drop some hertz!!! Nemises.
Do you have a link that explains the eq from left to right on a 13 band? What each level means from bass thru treble??
Awesome! More of these generic ones please
Thought I clicked on a mighty mighty bosstones music video when you popped up in that hat...
That’s Dick Riculous. He joins my vids on occasion when necessary 👈😜
Nice fittings on the rear for that price. The capacitors look like what you would expect from 100 watt per channel. Size matters.
Agreed 🤘
Hey buddy I’m just wondering if you have done any reviews on the Alpine PDX-1.600? Thank you 😊
I was curious about that and the 1.1000 shares the same fuse ratings...
looks like an old jl audio slash amp or a black hydra, black hydra is top notch SQ
Hell thats a deal of an amp right there
They were down to $39 on Amazon just after I bought this one. Now I don’t see them listed there at all
Should do heat tests and see what amps can handle high temps without getting damaged. Looking for a 1 channel and 4 channel amp that can handle desert heat and thump without overheating. The 4 channel Rockville DB45 amp over heats fast👎🏻
At the first test the numbers did jump up to 100 and the other channel 95, so the first test did meet it's advertised numbers.
I bought one of these 2 months ago for $25 off ebay! I liked it for the $.
I bought it because I thought I kind of favored a lanzar optidrive, looks wise with the board. For $25 I thought it was a steal. They went for $19 for a short period in time.
Goes pow alright
Big D making me check my video speed with his squirrel voice open LMAO
Ha ha 🤪
Looks alot like the soundstream rubicon nano 4 channel(newer one)
I can tell just by watching the video that the amp is LIGHT AF lol
My cousin lives in Scurry Tx!!!
😬👍
Do you prefer the sound of the old Class A/B amplifiers vs. the newer Class D, or you can't really tell?
Have you tested the 5 channel Rockville amp?
Not bad. Good enough for a small system.
Seems so
Good enough for any front stage.
im curious to see which company they aped the design off of.
