Vacuum Packaging Latex Foam

- Learn how to vacuum pack your latex foam for shipping or moving. Vacuum packaging is useful either if you are shipping a piece back to us to swap out for a different firmness or if you are transporting it and don’t have room for an entire mattress set up in your vehicle.
Materials needed:
• Vacuum
• Lawn and Leaf Bag (not with handles)
• Packaging Tape
• Saran Wrap/Stretch Wrap
While I was able to easily wrap up this small piece alone, I recommend two people on Queen or King sized pieces, particularly on the final Stretch Wrap step. That way one person holds the wrap still and the other person flips and spins the latex into the wrap. I have seen latex vacuum sealed in a bag without the final wrap step threaten to explode its box because even though its bag has no holes, plastic bags are porous and can receive air, especially with 30-50 lbs. of latex pressing out on it.

Hahahaha! Thanks for the video! Was so worried. Am moving w nowhere to put my cal king mattresses. Was so worried how to store them! Going to miss sleeping on them, but relieved can protect them in storage...how long will they keep this way?
Technically they will keep indefinitely this way, however the rolling compresses the latex in a static fashion, unlike a sleeper using it all over. That means that the most compressed parts of the latex, i.e. the inner fold, will resist bouncing back after years of being compressed. If the latex is only stored a few months, then it should only take a few weeks to rebound.
@@Diynaturalbedding thanks so much for replying! Would it help to open and repackage them at a different angle every couple of months? Hate to ruin them. Love them so much!
@@xrpumped6004 Perhaps so, but I've never tried that. i see the logic in that but you have to weight int he effort to repackage them. You could always try it once and then evaluate whether it needs doing again.
That reminds me when i was trying to vacuum a foam mattress to return and when i was about to finish air blows out and it happens three times so after half day trying I ended up calling the company and they just refund me
Haha. I thought about cutting that part out of the video, but we're real people over here too who don't always succeed the first time. :)
