- www.mattresses.net shows how to vacuum pack and roll to return or move a foam mattress or pocket coil spring including mattress toppers and pads. Works on King and Queen size mattresses. Also good for Twin and full size.
*I was in the verge of buying a new mattress because I was having so much shoulder **MyseIf.Furniture** lower back, and hip pain. I decided to buy this mattress topper thinking alright we will try it out and see if it works, but totally expected to be buying a new mattress when all was said and done cause I didn’t have much hope. Boy was I wrong! It’s been three weeks using it and I wake up pain free! I now enjoy going to bed knowing I’ll be getting a good night sleep and waking up pain free. It may be a bit pricey, but worth every penny! Highly recommend!*
Genius. The fact you took the time to film and upload this makes you an awesome person. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words. Knowledge is a powerful tool.
I can’t stop laughing. I don’t know why. I just find this so funny but so admirable as well. Many would just throw it. The companies know mailing it back or even bringing it back the store is a pain in the A. But this guy and his two buddies are gonna get their money back. Lol. Cheers!
I appreciate your comment. Now I am laughing. I am about principle, baby. Even if it costs me a limb!
Thank you! This just saved my King mattress. Need to get it upstairs and around a small corner! This just made it possible.
Now that's customer service! Thanks for the video - I just wish I had purchased my mattress from you!
Me too!
Thank you for this! I couldn’t figure out the cheapest way to ship my fav mattress and you helped me
Thank you for taking the time to record this. I'm going to try this today.
Thanks I thought I would not be able to take my mattress with me when I move. I'm a very happy person right now. Thanks for this video
Thank you Ken and the team for putting up this valuable information. This made my life sooo easy. Not to forget it saved me a lot of money 👍👍😊
I have two 6 inch twin xl Inner Spring mattresses and with the above method I was able to vacuum pack and roll them up in just 1 minute each. I used my home vacuum that is Shark Navigator Liftaway 352 and it worked like a charm. Got the plastic mattress bags from Walmart. Thanks again... I am so so happy 😁😊
Just for others like us... If you want a Shop vac, as Ken mentioned it's available for rent in Home Depot in $15 for 4 hours. That was my backup plan if in case my home vacuum didn't work 😝
Glad to help.
Glad to help
Thank you I was wondering where i would get a shop vac from
Wow great customer service! That’s how they know you will love it!!! Want to buy this just so I can vacuum it again and return it. The experience of vacuuming it looks more thrilling!
so satisfying to watch it work
Brilliant. Cheers guys lol. I was at a loss of what to do.x
.... If you place the mattress on the floor and walk all over the mattress from the far end to the vacuum.. this will help flatten it to about an inch and a half ... This will allow it to fit in shipping box ...
Great tip!
Thank you for this video. Really appreciate it.
Thank you so much for this!! Greatly appreciate it!
Thanks for posting this - it worked perfect.
You are very welcome
Awesome video Ken!!
That's amazing 👏 😍 wish you come to people home to do it for those want this service
You sir are a hero.
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing.
That was fantastic, thanks.
I sure would like to see the size of the original box. This makes me wary of even ordering an expandable mattress.
A M A Z I N G ! thank you so much .
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO, SIR!
thanks Ken great video
I just bought a Sealy foam mattress and didn't ever think of me having to send it back. If I did all this, it'd bust open like a can of biscuits!! I'll keep the box out in the barn just in case. Maybe this is what they are counting on (that you can't return it.) Ugh... Thanks for the video!
AWESOME POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very cool method.
However, in the absence of a thick-mil mattress bag and a shop-vac, you can also use clean, carefully-used ratchet straps, then packing tape, then roll-plastic; works adequately.
OM! thank you for the video
What kind of plastic was this covered with to be able to vacuum the thing?
Can you do this with a pocket spring mattress? It arrived rolled.
Hi Ken, love the video and your business model. Just wanted to let you know that a VacuFlat Mattress bag can make this task a lot easier, and I have a couple of videos on my channel that show how it's done.
Hello! Is it possible to use any storage bag or does it have to be a specific one? Moving and trying to do the same but everywhere I called they keep saying thst they don’t have the vacuum bag, just regular storage bag.
Thank you!!!
what would hppen if you folded it with ratchet straps? trying to fit a queen size in my impreza
does it go back to shape after unwrapping?
how long would be taken for vacuuming?
This video is great ... EXCEPT that it ignores the most crucial step in the process - how to get the vacuum hose out and seal the open corner without losing suction and letting a ton of air in!!
Ken can you tell me what I'm doing wrong. I sealed up everything except the corner of the mattress and as soon as I turn it on the shop vac starts sucking in the plastic wrap which blocks the air flow from being pulled from the bag. I've spent over an hour messing with this thing and you made it look so easy.
have you figured it out? cause I have the same problem
Genius
Thanks for this, I have a $400 mattress that I need to return.
That's overpriced!
Same
... Look at my experience ...
how about with a hybrid mattress? vacuum will work on that?
What if I wanna roll mine up just to storage it? Can i just jump on it and try to roll it up that way and tie it? It doesn't necessarily need to be compact of be able to fit on a box.
Only if it's a foam type mattress, most spring mattresses have hard edge wire and if you bend it it will ruin the mattress. You could also just fold it in half if it's a foam mattress
yup. just bent it in half and tied it with straps few days ago. its a memory foam
how much do the plastic bags cost for 12 in queen mattress. Are they long enough than the bed to close up the ends and tape up before putting vacuum
Does this work on the box springs as well?! 🤪🤓
So what happens to the mattress if its returned? Does it get recycled? Does it get resold?
Does a shock vac have to be used?
So to return my Casper I have to buy a Vac? never told me this- Said if you don't like it return it nothing about I need to spend more money on a shop Vac?
Casper has you donate it to charity so they can write it off as a tax deduction. They have a lot of write offs.
Casper will send someone to pick it up, and like Ken said it will go to a charity. No need to pack it up, they pick it up as is.
Hi,What’s the best vacuum to use for compressing?
Thanks so much!
Can I use the regular vacuum cleaner or do I need a special vacuum to suck our the air
Regular vacuums are usually not powerful to do this.
Momma paid for his Yale degree. He's smart.
what if i do not have original plastic wrap ? how to return it then ?
I hope to do this with an Ikea foam mattress, where to buy the mattress cover ?
He said at Uhaul. You can buy from Home Depot too. It calls “seal bag”. It cost $13 at Uhaul for queen/king size
Left my new memory foam mattress in a box for over a year when I opened it its all lumpy and cannot use - any advice please
Send it back for a refund. It's probably Chinese memory foam which is cheap and doesn't bounce back after being compressed for over a month
@@KenHightower Hahaha you made me laugh Sir i never buy any items wich was made in China...
how did removing the shop vac go? does air get back in? did the tape tear the bag?
When you remove the hose you twist the plastic several times and then tape it so the air doesn't go back in
I can't keep boxes around.. especially to cover the warranty.. but I could manage to do that, but not buying a special bag.. if it's sent along with sleeve, I would go through that to return a mattress.
Uhaul sells mattress bags and stretch wrap can work as a sleeve
@@KenHightower My point was, we shouldn't have to purchase a return bag. If companies stand by t heir product, they should include a return shipping bag just in case. They've known this for a long time from customers griping on Amazon specifically whose customers purchase from all companies on their platform. Their major gripe is, the hassle in returning. If a bag is already provided, then it's up to the consumer to already have a cheap shop vac, or borrow one from a relative.
what size box(es) do i need?
How do you keep the plastic from being sucked up in it???? It’s driving me crazy!
The taping has to be tight
would a heat gun work better to sealing the bag than tape?
Tape is faster but a heat gun or even an iron on low can seal it as well
you may potentially melt the plastic cover and lose the sealing and do more damage.
I live in Mechanicsburg, PA and I would like to get this done for my king size foam mattress. How do I get in touch with you?
The purpose of this video is to show you how to do it yourself. You can get the supplies from a Uhaul store
Ken this is an opportunity for a business start up ;) thanks for the video
I live in Phoenix and I'm moving. Can I get you to do this for me?
I think so, what size and what kind of Mattress?
I have a full and queen both foam. How much? Feel free to contact me at 3134426909.
Can you give me a price for a queen and full.
Where can I get this vacuum for rent? I am trying to move my mattress from one city to other in my car. I don't think the normal vacuum we use at home will work. It gets hot and stops.
Home Depot might rent shop vacs so check there first.
Hello sir I have a bet 72 72 8 and unable to get the packing here. can you sent it me ?
I'll pay for the vaccumm pack
Where do you buy the second bag the small bag?
That would be hard to find so I recommend using stretch wrap instead, something both U-Haul and Wal-mart sell
Hi Ken, where can I rent a vacuum machine like this or can I use my own house vacuum machine I dont think it will have good result. Suggest me a vacuum machine rental store.
OK Google 10 inch mattress foam rubber
Use a Shop vac
😝 best video ever 🕺😎👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you very much.
Will this work with Latex?
will a regular household vacuum work?
It will work but won't shrink it a small as a good shop vac will
I used mine, and to be honest, it even did a better job on my mattress than the one shown in the video, then again the one in the video might be higher density mattress than mine.
@@zamatallica7 just tried with my ecosa mTtress and I agree a household vac did a much better job than the one in this video. I did it with a double bed mattress and it compresses very well.
how do you stop shop vac from overheating?
It varies on what machine you use. I for one use a Stanley 6hp from Walmart and used it for my plumbing job for 1 full hour without it over heating.
Switch it out
So, can I vacuum the mattress into any plastic bag that fits?
Yes, but Uhaul sells plastic bags for mattresses and they work really well.
Thank you! I bought a mattress bag at Walmart..it had small holes but I taped them and it worked really well! Cheaper than Uhaul bags! They cost 25, mine from Walmart cost 5, but I had to pre-order online!
Mine isn't working the vacumn keeps grabbing the plastic and blocking off the ability to suck air.
Put the end of the hose into the foam so the plastic cannot interfere.
will a household vacume cleaner work for this method?
Unlikely it would be strong enough but you can always try it.
Nice camera work. Good lord, I'm getting vertigo.
Where can I get those bags?
He literally answered that in the first 30 seconds.
Fucking greatness!
Fuck foam mattresses if I got to go through all that.
Getting a shop vac, I don't know if a cheap $50 vacuum will be able to handle that. Needing extra people to help Me roll it up. *_NeverMind!!_* I already have gone through My troubles with getting innerspring bedding in & out up & down when they needed to be moved.
anhj
There is no fucking way I’m doing that
