    I’ve had these for a year now, they are so durable. A very noticeable thickness increase from the BMW/Touratech boxes, even though they are only 0.5 mil thicker. The hinges still have the same amount of holding friction as they did as new. The seals are all still perfect and have not let in one single drop of water (rain). If I destroy them I will order a new set the same day.

    Nice sturdy boxes, and a great review off them. I did consider these when i was looking last year, but i ended up going for the lighter touratech one's because off the extra capacity.

    They look great, I like the way the mount is included with the top box. I also think with more and more bikes switching to keyless it doesn't matter if you need a different key to access the boxes.

    Thanks again for your VDO. I got in touch with people in Bumot and I was very disappointing with their lack of flexibility and the way how they answered "If you do not accept, look at the competitors, they are a lot on the market..." It is like they are selling a lot and not looking on new deals.... I am very disappointing because your VDO convinced me to buy Bumot boxes. Et the end, I will most probably go to sw Motech .... Excellent review - thanks. Solid and really well made. Had Yamaha (Givi) pannier boxes on my Tenere, so looking for something a bit more universal for my Tiger 900, that can also be moved to whatever is next.

    Great review guys. I had a set of these on my last GS. I did have some of the paint rub off the pannier lids though when carrying a dry bag on top of the rear seat. Probably a newbie error, but ultimately solved by using the available rubber sticky covers on the lids. I also had an issue where the small metal clip holding the key barrel in place behind snapped. The Adventure bike shop sent me some replacements that were easily fitted and I had some spare should it happen again ( which it never did ). I sold the panniers with my bike and am now looking at getting some new ones. Cant decide between the Bumots, SW Motech Trax or the Shad Terra. The Bumot seem the best value and I still have all the inner bags

    Nice boxes look very good, I did look at these before I got the BMW ones, as the price for the BMW 850 GSA boxes is the same price as the Bumot ones at 1435.05 euro's. For me it was 3 things that made me get the BMW ones,the key , open side boxes either way and not having to add the base plate for the top box .
    Also for some reason is 200.05 euros more than the 1250 GSA boxes.
    Nice video once again 🙂

    Thanks for another great review guys, I think I'll be investing in a set of these for my 1250GSA. Do you think the Lomo large pannier bags you tested a while back would work as inner bags for these? Thinking it could make a great combination as you could still use the Lomo's as soft panniers when you don't need the extra security of the hard cases.

    Greetings from Sweden! Looking into theese panniers and are undecided on the size. I’ve got a 2017 KTM 1290 SAS and generally only to overnighters (camping with tent etc) or the odd weekend but would like to be able to go for up to two weeks. What size would you recomend? I ride solo so I could lash a drybag to the rear seat if necessary. Cheers and thnx for informative and nice videos! 👏

    How do you find the locking clamp, I am curious how sturdy the clamp is and do they seat well? I find on their softbags that the clamp doesn’t have much surface contact onto the rack. I’m using the OEM racks as well.

    Hi, great video. Just a quick question - I seen somewhere online that the pillion may struggle to hold on to their handles on the BMW r1200 GSA LC due to the lock mechanism being in the way when fully closed or something along those lines, is there any truths/issues with that? Thanks.

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  Před rokem +1

      Just been out and looked and there is lots of room for pillions to grab the handles and not really any higher than the BMW boxes. Hope that helps

      @@RiderCamTV hi, I ordered them and they’ve just arrived. I love them but one quick question - I’m going camping for the weekend and I’m wondering if there is any issue with heat from the exhaust that could potentially melt a tent etc? I think the BMW ones had a heat shield on there’s so did you find any issue doing without one? Thanks

    Enjoyed the review guys. They look a good piece of kit. I’m still using the BMW Varios. Secure, but empty they come in at just over 4kg each. I’m guessing these, being quite sturdy, would be a similar weight. As my arthritic body gets older, lighter options are being considered, although with my wife on the back a sturdy top box makes her feel safer. Anyway, just enjoy listening to your motorcycle related everything. Cheers 🏍👍🇦🇺

    The only thing i can't seem to find an answer for is if you ride 2-up like me and my wife. There is only room for 1 helmet to be stored in the top box. The side boxes don't have enough space to fit another helmet in there. Do you have any tips on that matter?

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  Před 8 měsíci +1

      No probs. Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately the side panniers won’t fit a helmet in as the lip at the top that makes the waterproof seal is too narrow to fit a helmet in. You can always strap the helmet to the top / lock it but in reality how many times would you want to leave your helmet? I find that I take it with me or lock it on the bike with a bike lock

    If my GSA falls with these panniers, will they get damaged? Or are they sturdy enough? I won’t be doing off-road, I’m rather concerned about falling at slow speed on a car park when doing u-turn or similar.

    Hi Guys great review could I help by adding to your review. I have the 45l and the 41l fitted to a triple black r1250 GS. First point is they are within 1 cm of the Vario when extended full width. I also use a 55 ltr top box and these panniers open without having to remove the box even to get the inner bags out( I travel 2 up) .I changed from the vario as the space in the Varios are awkward to say the least I then put top bags on then my good lady caught her boot on the bag while getting off and fell back not great. The boxes can also take the rubber mat for the lid which I recommend. Mine dine have a small leak which I can explain, if you wash them with a garden hose I.E. volume water it overwhelmed the nut going through the box, if you power wash (even industrial) no problem and I have done hundreds of miles in the wet I live in N.I. not a bother. The British emporter is excellent and sorted quick and a great dealer. If you need any more info to help your long term Vlog please get in-touch. Robert

    I have the pro set and although the boxes are good quality, the locks are useless. When I bought mine I was mistakingly given the wrong key. I didn’t know and after a little wiggle it opened the locks! When I realised it was the wrong key I tried a Touratech Nav key and it also opened the locks with a wiggle. I contacted Bumot with my concerns and Asen said ‘All locks fail’ and ‘It will be useful if your other keys open it, to save carrying extra keys’
    Sorry but terrible attitude and customer service, but more troubling is that the locks can be opened with any similar shaped key so are not secure. Expensive boxes with cheap useless locks!
