It's because you have direct injection and the old 450 has Carbs. Carb 450's sounds more and more barky compared to a 450 with injection. But injection sounds more clean and doesn't bog from time to time.
Agreed I think powerwise the carb can go harder due to jetting and air/fuel mixture. But it has to be running in the right weather and altitude. Efi is so much better and smoother sounding and running
It's due to a air circulation pipe in carburetor, find that loose hose ,it must be connecting middle part of carburetor to upper part of carburetor, its common in carbureted engines 🐒
@@waylonlegend4603 overheating and backfiring can both be caused by lean jetting. also the bogging can be a symptom of lean jetting depending on the type of bogging your bike is doing
Dont forget to check out the Tiktok! @auscrosser
I have a 2015 rmz450 and i never noticed how different it sounds from the old rmz! Dope vid

Hey mate what exhaust is on the bike just the stock ?
Stock
Yep all stock
Lol….old school to me is 80’s-90’s 2 strokes. Not anything to do with modem-ish 4 strokes
😉
I have an 05 rmz450. It backfires and pops like crazy when I let off that gas. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks
Fuel to rich turn the fuel screw 1/8 of turn I did to mine 2016 rmz 450 so When I get gas at station get high Octane 92-93 no problems at all.
That could be it but if it doesn't idle properly it could be the valves need to be adjusted. My valves actually burnt a bit being too rich.

Same exact problem with my 05 rmz450. It pops and throttle bogs down when riding. Not sure if running too rich because the bike does overheat quickly.
