This is what mine sounds like until it warms up. 07 RMZ450. Once warm no backfires at all. Backfiring for me is due to running lean when cold due to fuel not atomizing.
If its got too much compression to kick it your valves might need shimming, it gives it more clearence, mine still kicked the same just started and idled way easier
mainly it's a fuel issue with bikes either it's running rich or not getting enough fuel. But sometimes it can burn the valves out so I'd get it fixed 🤷♂️
Shes sounds beastly, i gotta 17 ktm 450xcf and its starting backfire a lil bit i bought it with 25hrs on it and it now has 60 so i think its time for a valve adjustment,, how many hours is on your bike?
@@auscrosser ive got a 07 rmz450 and it smokes after idling but then clears up and dont smoke but its overheating fast and its started leaking all the coolant out today and i have no idea what to do i need to tear it down and figure out where its leaking from and adjust the valves but i dont have the tools for it so i gotta go buy tools and shims, same backfire issues hard to start after it warms up first kick when cold tho i'm thinking piston and rings and valve adjustment and shell be good as new but where should i start? this is my first big bike ima work on ive done 2 stroke top end before but thats it never a 4 stroke and i dont wanna fuck it up is it really that difficult to do valves?
Not sure mate could be something simple as air/mixture could cause the smoking due to running rich and getting hot slightly. My bike did the same because I bought it at a lower altitude area. Doesn't take much to disturb it. Besides that just hand it into the shops, might end up doing more bad then good
@@auscrosser yeah its just the shops rob you the only shop around here wants $119 USD per hour for labor? and thats just ridiculous, so i think ill just study the bike more look through reddit post, and other things and take pictures etc.
Dont forget to check out the Tiktok! @auscrosser

The beast bro the beast u hear that damn it’s ur carb maybe to lean or rich n air mix
Cheers mate, I rejetted it and did the valve adjustments and it ran fine
Does it kick start alot easier after the adjustment ? I bought a 2007 rmz 450 it's crazy hard to kick have to roll it down a hill to start it.

@@auscrossermines got so much compression its hard to kick ive got a bruise on my foot lol
My 07 starts SO easy. Kicks super easy too but I'm 280lbs. My dad is 170 and he couldn't kick it over lol
Bro Suzuki backfire like crazy but no flames and back fires when revved in neutral
Being a new season then I had to tune the air/fuel mixture right for better idle and less backfiring and flames
It sounds fucking sick dude
Thanks mate 🤘
are backfires harmful to the engine or not?

Depends how hard I ride it mate, i once didn't do adjustments after 70 hours and wasn't a issue

Damn it's expensive for you guys in the US huh?
I have an 05 450 doing the exact same thing. My bike overheats too. I’m not sure if it’s the valves or running lean. Throttle also Boggs down at times
It's you r carb
And valves
05s overheated from the factory
I gotta do a water pump rebuild on my 2012 rmz450, dirtbikes am I right? 😑
Anything with wheels isn't cheap 😂😅
@@auscrosser yea haha. As unfortunate as it is.
my rmz 450 2007 (carb) works fine only with choke on... why????
had the same problem, check your carburetor or your fuel is on
Mine used to do the same, I found every winter I have to do the jetting and fuel/air mixture
Caburator Ore Injektion?
Carb
My SSR do this and I was scared asf
