This is what mine sounds like until it warms up. 07 RMZ450. Once warm no backfires at all. Backfiring for me is due to running lean when cold due to fuel not atomizing.

I only took the baffle out and drilled some holes in the airbox. It's on youtube somewhere
I’ve got an 08 kx450f and about a year ago I got myself a 2018 rmx450 and absolutely love the bike
Awesome mate I've recently sold my rmx450 for a beta 300 because I couldn't get it on the road being a 2010 model. Still to this day it's one of the best bikes I've owned
@@auscrosser how’s the beta? I’ve been looking at the husky 300s I used to have one but I haven’t pulled the trigger again just yet
Love it mate big difference to me is the weight and clutch I feel like I can just throw the 300 around easier. 2 very different bikes. I was looking at the te300i aswell but it's on the pricy side.
@@auscrosser not wrong there on the price side, could have like 2 gq’s and a slab of butters for the price 🤣 not a huge fan of the fuel injection myself but im looking a 16-18 model
I had one..did not really like it. I had a Drz 400 with a Yoshi and a cam..it would eat the rmx
Well it isn't for everyone. I noticed it had alot more torque than the drz. Any bike would be quick with a exhaust and cams. Depends on the ride and the rider on what they do. I got a big bore kit for my old rmz450 and it was night and day
I find this hard to believe considering the RMX is based off the Carmichael RMZ. Has way better suspension and components overall, if you took out the air box baffle, limiter screw on the throttle body, and added a Yoshi RS4 exhaust, the RMX would heat the DRZ alive.

How much better is it than the drz400?
Depends what your doing mate. Road riding and trails I'd say drz. But still going on a mx track and enduro I'd say the rmx450z. I use it for pretty much everything and don't have a issue
