Wow -the new mic makes a big difference in the sound . Also good eye to catch & prevent the Plow Tine" from going into the Baler - Saved a lot of Time & Money preventing the repairs . Well done. Great drone footage as always. Thanks for sharing 🚜 🚜 🚜🐄🐄🐄🐄 🚜 🚜 🚜
Another good, honest video, just shows that although shiny new machinery is nice, its not necessary. Well done and thank you for sharing 👍 . . . . .... (About time we had more Dairy on the prairie, hint, hint)
Another great video. I am fascinated by everything involved in farming and ranching. Probably because I have lived my entire life in the suburbs of Southern California.
I am convinced being a dairy farmer is no easy job! Also, my admiration for hard work and keeping your cool when things go wrong. Love that your family are dedicated to a good work ethic. You are an encouragement to your followers on CZcams! 👏💕
I wish I could have sent you guys some rain! We have a beef farm here in Southern Ontario and can't seem to get a week without rain which is making fall harvest almost impossible. It has been a very challenging year for sure. Love watching your video's and a big thank you for sharing :)
Noticed when you started the video, while talking it was cold enough to see your breath! By the time you finished you were just wearing a t-shirt. Lol... Must have warmed up through the day. Love that kind of weather! 47° this a.m. in Missouri. But 73° by mid-afternoon. Love your videos Jan, good job.
@@lightbulb1982 I didn't just find Jan's channel, I have been watching him from the beginning, gr8 video content, love the drone shots, there are quite a few CZcams farm ing channels from Saskatchewan
3 bales off 60 acres! That's some expensive straw. Probably cheaper to truck some straw from Ontario. Had people calling this summer asking if I wanted straw.
I really enjoyed your channel but not much has changed same ole thing just a different day !! Its not your fault it is what it is & its not just your channel its all the farmer channe !!!l sometimes i see something new & exciting but far between . Good video & yal stay safe i will check back from time to time . Daniel from central Mississippi
You need to show your sister a little bit more people would like to see her too as well we love watching your videos your friend South Carolina United States
Jeez Jan, 3 bales off 60 acres! How much do they work out each with labour, diesel, net wrap, wear n tare etc etc. Then you've got to do and collect them.
Another excellent video, Jan. Looks like Kielstra is well on its way to milking 500 head especially with the selective heifer birthing. Will need a new bulk tank or a daily pickup. Fun times.
You an awesome job with that dairy farm to be so young I can't understand though why your cows that are in the open pastor fields are corrals don't have a cover to get under with winter coming it doesn't make sense for them not to have a shelter can you explain God bless Sandra from south Mississippi loves you PS what is the name of your milk brand that y'all chipped to I would like to try some of your milk I love dairy milk
I'm sure they'd love to have a shelter in each paddock, but building a roofed shelter costs money -- building anything costs a lot right now, given the price of materials. They do have shelters in 2 of the paddocks, They usually put the pregnant cows into those ones.
Hi Jan, Can you explain What happend with dead cows? I know that is normal that old Cows died but i don't know what happend with this Cows on a big Farm. I hop you can help me. You are great! Schöne Grüße aus Deutschland
so sorry about the hay, Jan. Wish there was something that I could do. Anyhow the video was awesome. Barn is coming alone. Thank you for all you do for us
When we bale really light hay, we have found that we can slow down rpms and speed up ground speed and cut some of the loss that way. It still stinks to cover so much ground for so little yield! Happy Farming!
Wish I could send you some grass silage from western Germany. Here you can get hundreds of acres of grass silage for free because it grows so good this year.
Cows that are being milked twice a day are in the inside….close to the milking parlor. All dry stock (those not producing milk) are housed outside. In the winter they put straw in the pens outside that creates its own heat pack that helps the cattle stay warm.
I am in Middle Georgia, USA. We won’t get a frost until February…we have heat and humidity. Love ❤️ your videos and your production style. Very well done.
Maybe chang ya feeding schedule to feeding the dry cows last, that way you guys can leave the second half in the feed mixer untill they emptied out their feedbunk enough. Saves you all the scooping it back into the mixer.

Agree another honest VID. Thank u
Wow what a Tidy and Clean farm ! Beautiful...
Square balers don't loose so much, if you can use square bales, Jan.
Another good, honest video, just shows that although shiny new machinery is nice, its not necessary. Well done and thank you for sharing 👍 . . . . .... (About time we had more Dairy on the prairie, hint, hint)
Always enjoy
Cool channel, straight forward and no BS.....
LOL you got it right!

Follow you from Egypt 🇪🇬❤
bedankt Jan
maybe if you pull a tarp behind the baler you can catch some of that straw and every now and then put it back in the front to bale it up.
Appreciate you providing the date. Thanks for the video. 🚜🇺🇸
Tuff enough. Thank you for sharing your land and what is means to farm. I think your videos deserve awards.
This is a fascinating video. I’m happy I don’t have to watch this at 4:00 am.
👍
Jan, your videos are so enlightening for a non farming person. Keep up the great work!!!! And backing trailers is a skill I never learned.
Always enjoy your videos & the way you explain everything.
Beautiful country and farm. Jan, you and your family have so much to be proud of. Thank you for taking us along on this amazing journey of yours.

Amazing!! I also wanted to work on a farm or get a feel for it anyways. I’m pretty close to your farm. Your out by osler correct? Lol elkrest?
Would the small square baler do a better job of not loosing so much?
Thanks for sharing. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Work is never done on a farm.
Great quality of the videos make it ALMOST pretty enough to visit Saskatchewan! ;-). From Florida where it still hasn’t frosted. Thanks Jan.
Autumn 2021 starts...
Thought you guys has a large square, with such short strw not sure if the bale would stay together?...
Good stuff. Cheers
Dang bailer

@Pocket Change Really? I'm surprised you just found him now then. He's been around for a while! You should go back and watch some of his other clips!

16 acres maybe?
that mixer footage near the start reminded me of what my stomach felt like the last time I ate Mexican food...
Great video Jan. Sure sorry that your yields are so low with the drought. Hope next year is much better.

I'm guessing you checking to verify the day of the week based on replies from your prior video. Nicely played young man!
What rake do you use for stalls
Nice Ariel of the new addition, thanks for the update🐄🐄🐄
Fall is in the air, next Friday is October 1st already. We could see snow in the next 30 days for sure.
Yikes. First front on Sept 20. You are a tough breed of people in Saskatchewan.
Good stuff 🤜🤛
Hello brother, you're very inspiring to me. Thanks🙏 keep going.
I like the fall weather but I hate the cold not looking forward to it 😕
Awesome as always, thank you so much for making my day!

Keep your spirits up. God will provide
That's pretty cool. You're sponsored by Nike now! :)

You are too chipper at 4am, how do you do it?
Another excellent video, Jan. Looks like Kielstra is well on its way to milking 500 head especially with the selective heifer birthing. Will need a new bulk tank or a daily pickup. Fun times.
Maybe try and find where it's dropping the straw from and see if you can put something on it to stop from losing the straw love your videos
Maybe time for a new baler?
Every time I see those tired eyes at 4:00 am I think Robots!!! Just kidding, much respect for how hard you guys work. Always enjoy the vids.
What do you do with cows whom no longer are profitable to keep?
Dog food
They send them to the livestock sales barn.
Those particular cows are referred to as "udder failures" or "milk duds". They are sold for processing!
They end up at the Golden Arches of McDonalds (or Burger King, etc.).

Great video👍love the drone shots and when u set the cam and play music instead of actual farm noise. Keep making great videos👍👍
Hi Jan,
Can you explain What happend with dead cows? I know that is normal that old Cows died but i don't know what happend with this Cows on a big Farm. I hop you can help me. You are great! Schöne Grüße aus Deutschland
I think McDonalds picks them up for free until they are 2 weeks old, after that they go to pet food
so sorry about the hay, Jan. Wish there was something that I could do. Anyhow the video was awesome. Barn is coming alone. Thank you for all you do for us

Your milking parlor like same almarai Saudi arabia has a rapid exit .and al ain dairy.2 x 40 2x20 boumatic has also rapid exit.
when i bale a light crop with our baler its seems like a lower RMP and higher ground speed helps keep from losing as much
where is your home?
Great SaskDuch Kid Video, thanks for sharing
How many acres ???
Awesome video and a great farm.
Hey yan long time no see. From the imperial co California.
great video thx a lot, hope u get more straw from another field.

In South Dakota it's snowing in october
Keep your chin up kid got to keep your head clear
@Don Baus Don't you kids call that meth?
Frost on the pumpkin already. We've had 2 days of 100 F temps. So ready for fall...
Wow, sure did not get much straw. First good frost, not ready for it to be cold, I know you like it.
What a modern and large farm. I guess it can be invested with a lot of money
Need a new baler 😂 Brilliant video 💪🏻 🏴
The straw was very short. Almost like dust. No wonder your baler lost some straw.
High thought it was Monday the 13th again.
Are you from frank tufano channel
I love what you do I was raised on a farm I am 63 now I I still get up at 3 am every morning
Bagaimana saya bisa bekerja di sana my friends
How do you drain down the pipe that you put water in the feed wagon since have the lifted discharge?
Tell the neighbor next time extra charge for waste of time small yield
I was wondering about that too. I imagine it must be a hobby farmer?
Jan
You need a better baler.
Maybe chang ya feeding schedule to feeding the dry cows last, that way you guys can leave the second half in the feed mixer untill they emptied out their feedbunk enough. Saves you all the scooping it back into the mixer.
One of the cows totally shit all over the back of another cow as it was laying down lol
Time?
that's tough going on the straw but every bale counts in a bad year
Y’all sure have a nice operation.
You guys have a great mechanic Brent is the best. Your smart have your own mechanic
