@@saskdutchkid Love your response!!! I don't know your relationship with God: I hope you have one because you have been very blessed. I don't think He really cares if you work on Sunday as long as you keep Him first.
Another great video. My favorite part was when you and Dima nodded and gave the one finger wave to each other as he passed you in the skid steer; such a Saskatchewaner thing to do 😅
I remember that video washing the skid poo pusher teehee 🤭 Your right what’s the point ! But it was satisfying watching it get clean. So maybe for just that reason a yearly cleaning vid rocks 👍🏻🐄
I'm late watching but LOL about the skidsteer! I was one of the pack that made you look like the skidsteer with manure sprayed and the skid looked flawless! 😂😜 The skidsteer never felt more grateful! 😁 You didn't! 😜😁😂😜 But that was fun, times flies heh!?...
Maybe he needs the extra tonnage of manure on the skid-steer for traction 😂 oooorrrr the smell of the old manure stuck on the skid-steer covers over the smell of the wet manure 😂😂😂😂
As always - great video. Big blessing having a great employee like Dima (sorry if it's spelled wrong). Hard working and always smiling. I noticed you just gave the day of the week. Smart thinking. Always learning from your videos, Jan. Thanks!
I am enjoying the constant and enjoyable look into your life on the dairy farm. It does remind me of the time I spent as a child at our cousins’ farm in South America.
Young Jan , Need to get a sand machine blower to bed the cows would that be better then bobcat scoop. We just cover ours with a rag And zip locks to hold rag on.On our electric doors we put vaseline real thick and ice meld around the doors.Cleaning windows won’t be cleaned load. Yea we our planting my garden the last week of April.. Mowed yards neighbor in field putting lime on fields and one tilling the field almost ready to take plant the crops. Yahoooooooooooo can’t wait. We got yucky weather all this week up and down tempts rain then sun comes out gets hot Mother Nature got it in for us all.
In the past, you've mentioned the neighbors complaining about the odor when you spread manure on the fields. well, was wondering, eric (10th gen dairyman) mentioned in his latest video they treat the manure with a bacteria to help keep the odor down. i know nothing else about it, but was wondering if you've considered this and / or are doing it?
Thanks thanks for cleaning the tractor with a fire host just for us pressure watch the bobcat do it for us I love to see the farmers once in awhile they clean all the tractors
hey Jan,this was a nice day on the farm, whit the new bale wagon, so it was a nice video to.how many capes do you have ?? i saw one with a dutch name on it hehehe Niehuis, awesome .
Keep smiling you are educating a lot of people on what it takes to get milk ready to be processed. I believe we all mean well when we ask questions make suggestions, but we are coming from a limited knowledge base. I appreciate your patience in educating everyone.
Hey Jan! Great vlog as usual! My favorite parts were the scene showing the interest of the cow supervisors gossiping at the gate by the sand pit and the lovely head shot of that beautiful lass showing her 'best side' with a serious expression and no cares in the world. Do those 'supervisors' always do that or were they just hanging out and was that a 'special' star of the herd? Blessings!
Great video! You’ve probably gone over this previously, but out of curiosity how long does it typically take to milk out each cow on the machine? Keep up the great work!
I have been watching your videos for a while. I have not noticed anything about the treatment of the new born males calves and what happens to the males vs the females.
What is the plan after you run out of the sand bedding on your property? Can you share in one of your videos whether you evaluate the management efficiencies of your farm on an annual basis and compare the results against other comparable Canadian farms.
interesting video interesting to see how much different work is needed for milk. i am always fascinated when i watch such a big farm. we also used to have dairy cows but only 10 cows. keep the good work . Greetings from Slovenia
He said in this video and the last video... sand is real cheap because they literally dig it out of a sand pit on their farm; on 40 yards away from the barn.
Easy fix to keeping the skid loader cleaner JUST SLOW DOWN and you won't be throwing manure over everything. What happened to the hood on the payloader? You need a sand slinger; faster and does a better job than skid.
I would like to know what was actually wrong with the MX285 transmission and how much did it cost to repair approximately please? Inless I missed that information in a previous video?
Hey Jan, great video as always👍💪 I have a weird question: What are you going to do, once your sand pit is empty? I mean there's not unlimited sand in there.
Thank you my friend for sharing the new mission at the dairy. How many liters of milk does your dairy produce? Where is the milk deposited on a daily basis, how is the quality of the product maintained, how is the process of transferring the milk to the tanker truck?🙄
time to add on to sand room...make a home made drive threw skid steer or a wash hoop sprayer you can drive threw a few times ... try Carnauba car wax on your windshield, works great keeping window cleaner... thanks 4 video. be kind.
What is the reason for sand over wood shavings? I'm just an old hog farmer in IA. I'm sure there is a reason why, just wondering. Enjoy your channel and 10th generation, Eric. Never mind you just answered my question later in the video. Thanks
Yes the skid steer…. If you clean it , it may just fall apart 😂🤣. It’s the most useful, important veh on the farm. It’s rather endearing. 🥴❤️ Jan you do such great teaching, I’m always so impressed with your educational moments. Good job my dear.
I love watching and hearing Jan explaining it all. Such a change since my youth !! Greetings from Australia
My favorite CZcams channel! Thanks for taking us along.
Love all your videos. Would love to see more baby calves!!
Tremendous work ethic you all have. Even the ladies. God bless you all.
Sunday is Gods day not a work day hard to say God bless you then
If god thought like this he probably would’ve made cows stop producing milk on sundays haha

You should get a sand scoop for a skid steer it will throw the sand out of the attachment
I remember that video washing the skid poo pusher teehee 🤭
Your right what’s the point ! But it was satisfying watching it get clean.

We always plant "silo buster (oats/peas/triticale mix)" as a cover for our alfalfa here on our Wisconsin dairy farm.
Maybe he needs the extra tonnage of manure on the skid-steer for traction 😂 oooorrrr the smell of the old manure stuck on the skid-steer covers over the smell of the wet manure 😂😂😂😂
So many interesting things on the farm, thank you.
It’s sooo cool how you explain what you do thanks for sharing your life ❤️
So glad to see more videos. Love your channel ❤

pretty sweet with the pin on the bale wagon. nice!
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Thanks again for doing such a good job of explaining what you are doing & why you do it the way you do with all the possible obstacles.
I really like the song you play in the beginning, thank you very much for your videos
Dang, I've been waiting for a pressure washing video of the bocat....... really ready for it........ I guess I'll wait some more.

The PoopCat is #1 machine on the farm never clean it-the manure is a badge of honor!
Guess I’m old school cause we always cleaned all equipment off even in the winter months.
Funny how the ladies were watching the sand room action. 🤣🐄🐄
btw.. Maybe you guys can silage that canola if you are short on feed this year..?
Nice video, Thanks Jan.
Great video always like watching your video does your milk go for bottling or cheese
Thanks thanks for cleaning the tractor with a fire host just for us pressure watch the bobcat do it for us I love to see the farmers once in awhile they clean all the tractors

Get a ventrack with the brush attachment to sweep the sand room/area
Nice video. Thank you 😊👍
square faced shovel is one of the great inventions of the modern world :)
I agree! Things great!

That snap was sweet!!
Now do it to the skid steer... jks lol
Good job
My son I was wondering what kind of chore boots you like to wear. We have dairy in Kansas and pretty much live in our boots 👢
interesting video interesting to see how much different work is needed for milk. i am always fascinated when i watch such a big farm. we also used to have dairy cows but only 10 cows.
keep the good work .

Wow thanks for watching from so farm away!
Jan, how much milk on average does a typical cow produce in a days time?
Do you buy sand or do you dig it from your farm? Good video.
He said in this video and the last video... sand is real cheap because they literally dig it out of a sand pit on their farm; on 40 yards away from the barn.
Millennial farmer snap
Demos is one busy guy
Can you use straw unstead of sand, what is the advantages of sand?
He said "less bacteria growing in sand compared to straw" "less bacteria to transfer on to cows" "healthier cows produce more milk"
Didn’t anyone tell you to fix the rear bumper yet.😂
Easy fix to keeping the skid loader cleaner JUST SLOW DOWN and you won't be throwing manure over everything. What happened to the hood on the payloader? You need a sand slinger; faster and does a better job than skid.
You could make some wheel wells
What time do you start in the morning and afternoon milking
👍👍🐄🐄we love cows

Great video Jan. Always love to share your work with you. thanks.
I actually work on a farm and I noticed u dropped the pin for the hitch in with out getting out of your tractor how did u do that
Busy times on the farm these days eh? The work just never ends in a dairy operation. Great work.
Do you have a hoof trimmer come to trim the cows hooves Or do you do them yourself
Best window cleaner is “invisible glass” Costco carries it
@Mama C what's a newspaper - can we buy those on the internet ? :)
You need a Woodchuck bedding spreader!!
Yeehaw
How many heads of cattle do you guys run in total?
I can understand and see why you don't clean the bobcat, but it still bugs the hell out of me seeing all the manure on it!😂
Great video as always Jan. Best wishes from Germany ❤
👍
Sand instead of wood shavings? Interesting
Do cows usually lay in the same stall
Sand is so dry, need to get more sand in the barn.😳😳😳😜😜😜😜
Hey Jan, great video as always👍💪
I have a weird question: What are you going to do, once your sand pit is empty?
I mean there's not unlimited sand in there.
I like to avoid this very question.. I’m not sure 😂

We have 24 bales on 140 horsepower so i think this is a little overkill but it looks awesome
I was just wondering. How far are you from “town”? And do you ever get to go there. Seems your always at work on the farm.
Thanks, great video.
time to add on to sand room...make a home made drive threw skid steer or a wash hoop sprayer you can drive threw a few times ...

Do you ever clean the manure off the Bobcat? LOL
🤠👍 git-r-done 🐄🐄🥛🥛👍👌💪💪 🇨🇦
You should keep it clean the bobcat. It's like why wash your bum it's only get Dirty.
Yeah Jan I remembered that video clip you made about the skid steer, it actually wasted your time.
Baller hay
Do you ever run out of sand?
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Jan, where did you find and hire Deema ? Is he from Canada? How long has he worked for you?
🤙🏻🇨🇦🤟🏻
Clean that skid steer
You should get a sand thrower
R.I.p. northern dairyman
