Take some advice. I have been there. As they grow they will use that against you, as teens, they will be mean sometimes. Just hang in there bro. When they grow out of it it all changes, and they see you for who you were for them their whole lives. Just take my advice and steel yourself...the venom will come, but the antidote comes later. Trust me.

My stepdad was the greatest father in the world. We had him for just over 50 years before we lost him. I love and miss him everyday. He couldn't have been any closer to us if he was blood. We saw our biological father twice a month, but our stepfather was dad and always will be even in heaven.

I cry my eyes out every time I see videos like this. It‘s such a great honor to be asked to be adopted. My biological parents did not care much for their children and thus I had a pretty shitty childhood. I don’t know how it is to have great parents. I wish I would. Now that I’m a parent myself I try my best to give my child everything I was missing as a child.

I never told my father-in-law that I loved him.. He knew, I knew he loved me, but we couldn't just say it. It would have been tears for both of us. I'm an old man now and I know that your were a source of pride and joy for your dad. Be well young man.

One should take care of their parents, be there for them as old age sucks being alone, living close to them so that you are there for them in an emergency everything counts in what sort of values you pass on to your kids as well.

The look on the son's face as he waited for his Dad to read... That was priceless. He was so shy about it, just patiently waiting for his DAD to accept him. And, of course, the Dad did...in a beautiful way. Just goes to show that even after we grow into adults, we never stop desiring to be loved by our parents... We want to know that we come from someone. Even grown, there is still a child within us who just wants to be loved.
+Michael B-Oh yeah, it's amazing that no matter how old you get, your parents can often reduce you back to a tiny little kid in a puddle :D and no matter what, we always want our parents' approval. And why not? Our parents are our first providers and also our very first best friends, they'll be our best cheerleaders and our biggest defenders for the rest of our lives. Even though this Dad wasn't the one biologically related to this sweet man, the Dad is still his dad in every real way that counts: he's probably been always been there for his son, never gave up on him, was always his best friend and biggest supporter, and to the son, he wouldn't want any other Dad either. He just wanted to make it official while still being incredibly nervous the entire time. And it was probably the best gift he could've given his Dad as well-he clearly loves his Dad very much and he wants everyone to know that this man is truly his Dad. :*).

@@futsalonyou4545 what I think he meant was people that don't have father figures that love them or father figures at all. When I see videos of loving mothers it reminds me that my mom was a bitch and never loved me. I'm happy for the people that have loving moms but it still hurts.
