1966 Corvette: Daughter surprises dad with dream car for Father's Day!

- My dad has always wanted a Corvette. This Father's Day, with his 80th birthday just 8 months away, I decided not to wait! Tomorrow is never promised, so I decided to make my dream come true and surprise my dad with a 1966 Corvette (the year I was born, for added significance).

1966 is a great year as it is my birth year too! Btw, that wooden steering wheel is one of my fathers patents with GM as a chemical engineer. It's actually a urethane composite made to look like wood but much safer because it won't splinter like wood in an accident.

@@candysmith8724 Hi Candy. The reason it sounds like it does is because it has speacial cam that is designed deliver full power when racing.
It works at high speed to give more gas to the big motor.
At low speeds it sounds kind of rough. But you punch the throttle and you are going to fly. Lol

@@roadguide123 i do and thank you. Its just crazy how its been almost ten years and yet it still hurts so much. I mean it doesnt consume my thoughts 24/7 but at least once a week i find myself thinking of him and i cry. Especially when i realize he never got to meet my wife.

This is the best video I've ever seen! As a father of four (one son and three daughters), I have bought all of my children all of their vehicles to date (working day and night). I am a lifetime auto technician and car nut. I've had many sweet rides back in the day (Trans Ams, GTO's, Buick GS, 77 CAN AM) and I wish I had any one of them back. My kids are now all in their twenties and still working on their careers. Maybe someday? Fantastic video - I know I'd feel the same way this gentleman feels. Very heartwarming. Thank you for sharing!
I may be 6 years late to this video, but wow! As beautiful as that vette is, it can't compare to that beautiful daughter doing what she did for her father! It really shows how that man did an excellent job in raising her as well, true love and respect for her dad!
