    I’m working out why I have high speed wobble. As part of that diagnosis I am removing the wheels to check balancing. This is just a short clip on removing the front wheel for those interested how to do it !

    Thanks, I did just this and dropped the Road 6 onto the bike (Mitas was OK actually).

      Nice one. Be good to hear your thoughts on the 6s.. possibly my next road tyre if I don't go back to the stock mitas. As I loved the mitas a lot. A lot don't which surprises me

    Thanks for the video Ricardo! Does the flat spacer on the left side of the wheel pop out when you take the wheel off? I have an SAR and saw only one spacer when the front wheel was popped.

      Hello mate sorry for the delay to reply! I can’t remember sorry. Next time I’m in work I’ll ask a mate there in the workshop. That’s if you haven’t already figured it out 👍

      @@RicardoYeep Thanks Ricardo, got it. Looks like the axle in the wheels are about 30mm. Right? The cones on the balancer set need to be able to handle that. I currently have a bike with 22 mm axle. I need to get bigger cones on my balancer set to handle this bike. Many thanks,

    What torque setting did you tighten front 32mm screw up to please

      Hello mate ! The caliper bolts are 45Nm (33.2 lbf ft) and loctite 243 (threadlock) recommended. And the front spindle bolt is also 45Nm (33.2lbf ft). Hope that helps! per KTM specs
      While I am at it.. the two bolts under each fork are 15 Nm (11.1 lbf ft)

    Pads won't fall out as the pad pins are holding them in

      Hi there Gren! Cheers for watching and the helpful comment mate! I can’t remember what I said exactly from memory but I recall I was referring to the cotter pins. Not sure about yours but I could do with some new ones as they were not particularly a strong “click” when in place. Possibly need bending to make them a tighter fit I guess (hence making sure they were vertical). But for sure the pads won’t fall out as the pin pads are there. 👍 (I think that’s what you meant 🤔)
      But anyway always great to hear from folks! And thanks for watching 🤝 and the heads up!
      Cheers

      Hello Magnus! Thanks for your time taken to watch my channel 🤝. These bikes are fast!!! I’ve nearly maxed out the top speed already. I do like the look of the smaller screen on the R version but so ride all year and need some protection. But no complaints here about going faster haha 😂. Cheers Ric 🍻

      @@RicardoYeep :) I ment when you remove your frontwheel.. I just bought an 2021 R my self. Very nice bike.. Upgraded from the 2015 SAT. I had a extra pair of wheel from the SAT and they fitted without any problem on my new SAR. I got 3 pairs of tires to the SAR wheels.. My bike suffer also from Wobble. But I notice it on when i go from 100 to 80. Then it starts,, And just get worse..

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 3 lety

      Ah sorry I misunderstoof haha! Excellent and congratulations on the new SAR. I personally prefer the new SAR colour scheme. They did a good design on that styling. I wont be doing much off road so the SAS suits me fine (Also I am short and that SAR is very tall). Thats brilliant you have extra sets of wheels and tyres. I am looking at buying a set of spoked rims to fit my SAS for when I decide to hit the dirt. A little expensive though. I tell you there is something odd about the issue of wobble on these from the factory. I think the SAR suffer more possibly due to 21 inch front wheel instead of the 19 inch on the SAR. But still at the speed you talking about it should not be noticeable at all. I would defintely go back to the dealer and ask them to check everything. Something is not right.
      I am not sure it will be of any interest but I resolved my wobble (high speed wobble) by doing some checks. I cannot say yours will be the same but worth looking at if you have not. I did a little investigation on my brand new SAS and found several areas needing improving. here have a look at this vid if you havent already mate.

    Remove the fender then the wheel will drop out once the axle is removed. Don't need to remove the calipers!!

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 2 lety

      Hiya Darren thanks for the tip. Others have said they twist the forks too. However I prefer ti completely remove the callipers and keep them out the way (I think that’s the official way too but I could be wrong)
      Thanks for the the comment 👍

      @@RicardoYeep NO, they are designed as "quick release" front axles... hence the locking clamps and axle retaining nut, and not massive nut and bolt assembly.may have to push pads in a bit but its easy to do.
