For everyone who cares, irl red and white lining/tape is for prohibited or 'do not cross' and black/yellow lining/tape is a warning or 'watch out!!' areas like stairs, moving machinery or overhanging pipes for example. The facrories you build are so spot on for this game with the big halls, love it!!! btw that gasextractor is some badasss equipment. props to the devs on that beast :)
I was actually wondering. I knew that it was all color coded, I just didn't know what everything meant, so thanks for sharing! Also, I remember when I first powered on one of those resource well pressurizers. Most machinery has some sort of startup animation, so I didn't stop to watch and all of a sudden my screen shakes and I'm like "what in the world?!" I powered off the machine and came back a bit later so it'd reset just to see what happened lol
@@shimo_96 It wanted you too see it get busy :D I bought the game after update 7 and are 130hr in the game so that will still be a long adventure ahead of me haha
"that doesn't look good, in the area im about to wall off forever".. so relatable!
It haunts me in my sleep
I remember how you started this series, everything was wrong and really plain. Now I look at this masterpiece and I wanna honour how far you've come! Great stuff, keep it going, I'm waiting for each episode!
He's certainly come a long way
Loved it. ❤ Thanks Darren!
Signs that pull data from the game world (like train next arriving, current/max flow rate, ...) would be a cool addition to game :)
Indeed! I believe there are mods that do it. I’ll happily use some mods once I finish the main progression
@@WhatDarrenPlays The one called 'Wiremod' seems to be one of the most straightforward. Looots of customisation possible.
Great, great episode. I really like your way of designing your buildings. If you want to bring the water in from the same side as the Nitrogen gas, you could do like a "free hanging" pipe alongside the bridge. What I mean by that is maybe every 3 or 4 tiles a metal "arm" comes out from you bridge to the right or left side, and at the end of said arm, the pipe is held up (or grabbed from above). So you could bring the water in yet didn't have to make the bridge 4 tiles wide.
For the resource node's connection:
I did see another way somewhere else.
Where they lay out a straight pipe between 2 or 3 nodes. (Like diagonally or 90⁰ if necessary, depending on which looked better and the amount for the max pipe capacity)
Then made connections from the nodes to the straight pipe.
It made this tree trunk/ root looking layout. So, all the nodes were combined within the foot print of the Well's footprint, that was nice and consolidated and allowed for the main pipeline to leave the footprint cleanly.
I think it was ImKibits or Bitz that did it, but don't quote Me on that.
It’s a good day whenever Darren posts satisfactory (todays Easter and that’s just a bonus lmao)
I really love the more open design of the factory, it is something different and I like the look of it. Maybe you could (some time in the future) add some warning sign along the yellow lines in the factory which says something like "Only authorized personnel beyond this point" or "Warning! Danger! Heavy Machinery!" or something along those lines!
I agree! You'll see in the next one (ep 52) near the beginning I start experimenting with some warning signs. When this factory is complete I'll try to add as much real signage as possible.
@@WhatDarrenPlays oh I can’t wait for it. I absolutely love this game and I live the experience vicariously through your Let’s play since I don’t have a pc capable of handling this game at anything beyond 480p, minimum details.
I like the way you set up the train station gave me a few ideas to try and I like the colors
Love the train station and gas extraction build, keep it up
Every time you've said this is way more than I need, you end up needing more.
Really? Not sure I’ve ever made something twice in this playthrough after about episode 10. Eventually though yeah, I will need more Iron and Copper as I havent built those since episode 5-10ish
Well done on adding the colours! In real life this is exactly what they do in factories. Some factories also have different colour zones, so if you wear red overalls you can only enter the red zones, blue with blue etc. To avoid contamination or according to the amount of safety training with certain hazard levels. Sometimes they will also colour code an area so that people don't deal with every portion of manufacturing to ensure secrecy. The less people who know the whole process the better.
I've almost caught up with this series and have really loved it. You seem to get flustered when you spend any on-screen time working out designs on the fly, but I really enjoy that! That's how we play the game too, so it's helpful insight to see how you think through things. Many compliments to your builds though, keep it up!
Thanks! Yeah I just worry about second guessing myself and wasting peoples time.
@@WhatDarrenPlays ah, don't worry too much about that. We're all here to see how you play the game, so we enjoy seeing how you build things and come up with solutions to problems. Nothing you do in these playthroughs is wasting people's time at all
It's awesome to see what you are doing in the place I built my first factory at the start of my play through. Love the content keep it up!
Great build. I enjoy the resource extraction portion of the game. Glad you dedicated an episode to it. Ever consider making an observation deck at the end of your water extraction peer? Like the kind you build in Anno 1800.
In factorio we use parking lots or shunting yards if there are multiple trains. So you have like 4 or 5 lines with single in and out before the station.
i love the moving signs idea!
Oh good more satisfactory.
I finally caught up! Love your vids❤
Loving the details, you have improved on the building designs
Thanks! I try!
Never clicked a notification so fast. I love this series.
Glad you enjoy it!
Glad to hear you got to go back to Ireland to see you fam. Love you videos I always look forward to the next one especially in this series because I play too.
GRB?! In that order?! How could you... what kind of a gamer are you? /s
love your content
The music from factorio is flipping my mind
Love the factorio musix
The professionals use cyan, magenta, and yellow stations though
Man I love Darren.
Thanks! :P
Isnt the idea of a junction that it has more than one entrance? Anyways, i like you building style. Going to "borrow" some designs
Alternate stair blueprint that includes glass enclosure and/or hypertubes?
Nice you saw my comment for using them as vents in between floors
Thanks for the idea!
YES LONG TIME
Hey Nice vid. But you forgot to fix the Hole in your factory at 6:45 ish
Ah yes… noted!
@@WhatDarrenPlays sure thing. I’m just a little backseat builder :D.
I am watching them all again and trying to make all the buildings and stuff just like youruself by I'm finding it hard to copy some off you factory be u build them off cam. If you could to live streams or even extended version on like subs only I would be very thank full 🇨🇮
Run another framework channel under the existing bridge.
Unfathamebly(?) early 🎉🎉🎉
I cant spell that at all Can i?
