Been a long time since I've rendered out of Maya, but you render out the Occlusion pass and there should be one for wire frame in the render menu. Then overlap them in Photoshop or AE. You have to set a certain value to make it visible or else you will get wire artefacts. I'd just do the render in something like Marmoset to be honest... Very quick render in minutes vs hours for something out of Maya.
lol "demo reel" this would be my "magnum opus" if i could even do such things. I can make 2d characters look like their shooting each other but when that itself took 5 hours i just said... animation is not for people with the attention span of a flea (such as myself). Even with medication I only get to goldfish level of attention span. In fact im surprised I've maintained such a coherent thought without tangenting out into politics or about how much i can't stand baby boomers!

The buildings are my personal design from back in college. The little aircraft is from Killzone :).
