- Rarely do I record myself draw... It's annoying sharing headspace with a camera when i'm used to my face so close to the paper XD

Was asked to record me drawing awhile back. Wasn't sure if people would find it entertaining since the process of doing it can be tedious after a certain amount of time, but it seems some do so was worth it :).
Also... No ones mentioned it yet but @ the end I spelled Better as "Beter"... Not again! Fuck XD That's when you know I screwed up when distributing talent points to the talent tree haha.
Do you have a wiki page for the characters who appeared in the first episode of your story?
have you heard mega drives music its freaking bad ass synth czcams.com/video/l3NoYyNKSXQ/video.html
@@weedsmokinhippy Oh I know all about them ;)
@@amirsafwan8491 This is coming in the future. Yes there is written documentation for the whole thing, just trying to make them presentable before releasing some of it :)
Mark 'each episode has a buffer of two years' - soooo 2022 episode 2? :)
Music took me back to 80s action hero movie times ,love the art salamanders forever
The Mad Max/Fist of the North Star look and feel of some of the characters is amazing. It really pounds in the barbarism of what you're portraying.
Fist of the North Star was and still is fucking awesome :) Hese a mix of Mad Max, Rock artists, Drawings from Paul Bonner, Judge dread boots, and leggings and shirt inspired by as you said, Fist of the North :)
After all the tacti-cool designs where even the Orks have learned how to bolt a jet engine to a car and make it look professional, a look back at the 80s metal design that inspired the original Warhammer 40k is sorely needed.
I know most fans these days don't connect with this but for us it's refreshing indeed :) and its nice to see this spark interest in new fans and explore ages of old
The humble beginnings of a future legend whose name will spread as far as the Emperor's light!
Mark, the amount of work done is amazing. What turns out looks very cool. Awesome attention to detail. Thank you for your work. Russia with you 👍
Gotta love True Survivor really giving that 80's vibe
I would buy these and I'm sure others would too. Might be a good fund raiser.
Might do something at the very end of the project, well see :)
This man ( I hope you see this Mark , great name BTW) is a Fukien damn savage !!!! Mark, thank you for all that hard work. I’ve gotten so many people who had no idea about warhammer absolutely infected by the emperors love and nurgles rot because of you life giving art !!! You are a true master of this craft . I wish you all the success in life ! Please consider more , I would gladly play a go fund me to get a movie - even if you were a lead art director, as I know how much work you must have spent. Again, thank you.
Now you're making dystopian art from the 80s, you even have the music
It's unbelievable! I couldn't do that. Thank you for your work, and look forward to the 2nd episode of Death of Hope.
The beat 40k movie ever, you really captured the Grim Dark setting we all love!!!
First time watching a premier
I missed the chats since the moment I hit upload I had to do some house stuff XD
Great now im in awe of your animation AND your drawings
Your sketches are damn good. Also I wanna say I really appreciate you drawing the RT version of 40k (well... 30k). The current 40k art styles have a definite slant of hero-power fantasy to it. This darker version is definitely what we needed.
new wh40k is rated all ages, old skool wh40k was rated 18+
thats why it looks the way it does now...so they could sell to a bigger audience and branch out with war hammer for kids story books..
MUH TACTICOOL WAAAAAAH
Havent read much 30k material but these drawings of yours are awesome. I would hang those up in my room. I would say Im more interested in 30k now than 40k. Your films and drawings are like warhammer 40k history just like in core rule books and codexes. Thanks for this and looking forward to the next.
Holy shit man. Thank you for this!
And thank you for giving me the feeling of 40k I had when I first fell in love with the horrid nightmare of the 41st millennium.
Your work gave me an emotional hit I haven't cought in years.
Thank you!
I'm a 90s kid myself. Thanks to my father, some of that magic of art and music spilled over to me and when introduced to warhammer after some years it's how it reflected. Reading sci fi comics in the living room with mac n cheese and jub jubes and a hint of smoke due to father smoking indoors with him blasing rock music while folding laundry and playing star trek in the background was just another day XD.
Glad I can throw you back for just a moment!
Thank God we have You
A fan of WH40k and Kung Fury? Now I know your project won't dissapoint.
My question: How many times did you have to redraw this as the scene progressed?
I don't normally redraw anything unless I spilled coffee on it or folded the paper a bit. Most of the time it's a one time shot! I have a 2 hr time span to create the general look before the vivid imagery starts changing so making outlines quickly helps ground it. Overall the drawing took 3 days :)
@@marklouisspark Oh thank the Emporer...I was afraid you had to make tons of individual frames like a picture film.
@@bigmoe9856 Oh dear god no lol. If you meant like a moving picture someone shoot me haha. That's why I didn't get into 2D animation, the workflow to do that is so killer...
@@marklouisspark i was so scared that was a thing you had to do XD
But ok, this is 3D. So the scene-when finished-remains the same, and you just animate unique bodies and objects within it?
Your artwork should be everywhere man! Oh yeah that’s right! Hahaha. Great video man. Looking forward to the next one.
I'm alright with this level of exposure :) As long as some people enjoy it that's fine by me!
LOVE YOUR WORK BROTHER
Awesome work, this! I couldn't draw a perfect circle OR a straight line to SAVE MY LIFE.
Удачи тебе в твоем нелегком деле, ты молодец 👍🏼 only true grimdark💪
Omg. This is amazing. I used to draw like that years ago. I love all your work!
Thanks!
This is reminiscent of Rogue Trader era 40k artwork
you are the master, saludos desde colombia
Dude Love just randomly stumbling into MBR. sometimes I feel like I am the only one that listens to him.
brilliant work!! Great artwork, hope to see more
You are such a great artist! I think that DoH is excellent and feels exactly like the Horus Heresy in the books. Again: great work! :-)
Glad it’s the real thing, I have to be on guard till the day is finally over.
Просто офигенно! Продолжай в том же духе ! Это просто титаническая работа и достойна уважения!
Wow. That really came alive when you drew the planet in the background - fantastic work. Good luck with part 2, we’re all looking forward to it!
Your pencil work is astounding.
Absolutely amazing, the work and dedication really shows.
A fan of Kung Fury eh?
Holy shit Mark! I didnt even knew you are so amazing artist!
It's been over a decade since I've done anything much with my illustrations so i've got some catching up to do. Just glad people can enjoy them!
Please dude, come back and finish your masterpiece. Please...
Outstanding sir, you really have some real talent for capturing the 40k Universe.
Dude Kung Fury fucking rocks!!!!
I did not expect this to open up with true survivor. Your musical taste continues to impress me.
all talent and passion. amazing
The work you do is truly amazing man!
Потрясающе 😍
Incredible eye for detail! Beautiful!
Haha I love that you have the Kung Fury Soundtrack!
Amazing job you've done here Mark . Also I was gonna like your video anyway but instantly pressed it when recognizing the song. 😂
Great work man :) I can't wait for next episode of "Death of hope" 🙂
This makes me want to start drawing again
Do it while you feel it!
Great stuff, your pretty talented matey! 😊 keep up the great work
Nice, keep going mate!
Thank you for your work it's amazing, you really bring Warhammer 30k to life ! Personnal thank for showing World Eaters, hope we'll see lot of them !
Part 2, you'll see much more :)
This is comparable to Junji Ito levels of detail!! I wish I could do this well!
Incredibly Jeff Darrow-esqe. I like it.
fucking crazy dude ! keep doing what you do ! you bring my imaginations on paper or create a movie out of it ! don´t stop your work, its simply awesome !
Dope man
Love the music
Ahhh the music is from one of my favorite movies ever
Awesome artist🔥
great music, Bro! Great Work!
your drawing skills are insane!
OMG this i just getting better and better
Wow..
1000000 out of 10
this is amazing
Thats beautiful
*Awesome!*
Awesome music, bro.
Ahh so there are more parts comming? Amazing!
Колоссальная работа...
I need to ask, is all the structure and detail out of your imagination, or do you have some inspiration from somewhere? Like I understand the whole gothic cathedral aesthetic is a given in 30/40K but you really go deep with the detail. Either way, absolutely badass.
Also, I fucking love that drawing of the Doredeo class Dreadnaught. The Doredeo was the very first metal 40K miniature I ever bought back in the 90s.
I use reference where I can, such as certain designs of vehicles and ships i'd say about 20% of it is reference, the rest is just me free styling. Some easter eggs sometimes of older designs for things like guns etc.
I'm used to seeing details based off older drawings and artworks from days when fantasy artists filled their worlds when drawing or painting so it helps bridge those gaps as it's what i'm more used to :)
@@marklouisspark That's pretty amazing. I hope one day you will let us see drawings that you made just for fun/passing the time and not under the pressure of a big project. Love your work, love it all.
@@LurkMoar101 One day i'll put together an album of things i've done other than warhammer for sure :)
"I fucking love that drawing of the Doredeo class Dreadnaught" And you'll see it come to life too ;D I never owned the model, but i loved everything in the opening cover of Rogue trader and back then all I could think about is how awesome it would be to see it move... Well, here we are! haha
Esta muy chevere el dibujo y la canción suena muy bien . 🔥👍🔥
David Hasselhoff ... this reminds me to the 80s Arcadegames and Kung Fury... for WH 40K (or 30K?) would be Doom or Death Metal the right choice i think ^^
6:45 what a great Artwork!!!
Usta O'z ishini yaxshi biladi! Gap yo'q!
This is amazing work my guy! I want to get into 3D animation and was wondering what software you use for the different steps such as modelling, animating etc. I saw you use unreal in another video, I'm assuming that was for just animating?
This is fucking insane
Also, how can I give u my money??? Do you have a patreon, or just staple cash to a pidgeon, or...?
I've updated the info in the video :)
Lmfao I'm cracking up at the pigeon idea. Yeah, just staple it to the pigeon, whisper "Mark Grimdark" to your feathery flying companion and Patron Pigeon should reach him in within 3-5 pigeon business days. That way he gets some cash for all his hard work and a badass pigeon that survived a stapling and a journey of hundreds of miles. Damn that's some funny shit man, still cracking up.
The making of... D'oh.
so what I am getting from this is that the next part will be 2 years from now? also that is some good drawing no wonder why the animation is so detailed if this is your reference. man should just make a 40k manga.
Yes, these things take time and people prefer the movie to be cut into parts rather than wait the whole 6 years :)
A comic would be cool but too much time consuming XD well see about what comes after im done
В коробке с карандашами - Горы и океаны, Гномы и великаны, И серв с большими клешнями.
Ты потрясающий!
pipes, pipes, pipes and hoses everywhere 🤔
Sick
God Emperor with you. )
I would Love to see performanse of Maraviglia animated by you
Before the release of GW Angels of Death and some other animations your work is unique and amazing.
I do hope that you get some help with animations, storytelling and other stuff, that cannot be done good by one person.
And I hope you'll not lose enthusiasm in next few years.
I wish you good fortune.
It is only unique because I forge what was lost :) I give more credit to the artists who inspired me when it comes down to that.
Fear not! I come from a line of stubborn blood. Once we are fixated on something the mission will be done, no matter if we like it or not, and for however long.
This project is my mark on the world, even if it is for a small community, that is how I treat this. Adding any other artists will water down the goal of showing an example of will power individuals can possess. Any hollywood artist can come and tell me what's wrong with my work, but I guarantee none of them will ever pick up the torch to achieve such a feat. They know what it takes to make a 60 minute plus film at this level of detail as a studio, they could not fathom doing it on their own, which is what makes this special for me.
It's also good for showing the new generations that people are more than capable if they put their mind and heart into it and that it takes hard work to get what you want.
I still don't understand wy the isnt a big movie about warhammer 😭
Unfortunately it will take part 3 to fully realize it all :) It will be 60mins or more by the end of it all
@@marklouisspark I will wait for it. And don't forget heresy arises from laziness brother
I am really hoping Richard Boylan gives you a call so you can join their new studio.
The guys Chin form the Thumbnail
¡OMG IS fucking awesome! 👍
That was great, I wish I could draw and animate like you. Then I would be able to help you with your workload.
80s would be remembered as the best decade if it wasnt for the hair.
Depends on whose hair you’re talking about! Flock of Seagulls? Bad. Peter Murphy? Amazing.
Why do the Ultramarines have such puffy blonde 80s hair? Is that canon? If so, how come?
Dominic Brady it was an 80’s thing. If you look at the original Rogue Trader, there is a ton of Mad Max/ Heavy Metal influences there. The Vylka Fenrika hair styles are all Mad Maxian it’s insane. Not Viking at all.
@@kennethbedwell5188 Thanks Bro.
Yeah, it’s pretty funny when you look at some of the early art where the Marines have things like “Born to Kill!” and “Die!” scrawled on their power armour, punk style- while they’re sitting in a bar having drinks! They hadn’t quite “evolved” into their current form yet 😉
PLEASE stop with the abbreviations!🤯. At 0530am I’ve got no extra brainpower to decipher odd combinations of letters....
however Death of Hope is AWESOME. Job well done
Wow.
GW needs to let you monetize on this somehow so you can focus on the creative side and have others do the modeling/animating for you.
Building the models from nothing like environments and characters is what I love. Not so much the animation part. Wouldn't be my work if I let others paint the image of the canvas for me would it? :P
@@marklouisspark You could still model the stuff you enjoy modeling, but for the boring and repetitive stuff you could draw the lines on the canvas and let somebody else fill it in or make it move. Da Vinci did that too, but still took all the credit. Its your vision after all.
Maybe just an animator, animated facial expression would already have a huge impact on the project and with the time you save on that part 2 might just come a bit faster.
Good
You should just make streams on twitch of you working, might get some donations too!
I've thought about it. I'm not good at talking to viewers and working at the same time to be honest XD Takes practice for sure, well see what the future holds :)
@@marklouisspark honestly I don't even think you would need to interact with the viewers all that much, maybe just the subs if at all. I'd be happy to watch just to see you work, clearly you don't need much input from anyone else to make quality work.
I'm sorry but I'm a lil bit bugged with what is written below that each episode has 2 years buffer. Does it mean we need to wait 'til 2022 for it to be finished or it is already good to go with few tweaks needed before being launched?
This isn't something that can be done overnight. People were down it was gonna take 6 years for me to create the full movie, so instead I've cut it into parts of 3. Think about it, 20 minutes took me a year and a half. By the time i'm done, I will have created a run time of 60+ mins after 6 years (4 years left). Astartes takes an average 5-7 months per episode and that's with more polish than I. Lord Inquisitor 7 years 8 minute video BUT with maximum visual quality. Ending of Part 1 has had a time lapse video already stating the time it will take for each episode and how long ill be doing this for. No matter how many times I seem to say or write it out, people always miss the information.
CGI isn't created out of thin air as most people believe :P Takes a lot of work to do. And the reason I don't get help from other artists is because this is what i'm gonna leave behind so when i'm 90 I can show my great grand kids what I was able to create on my own back in the day.
@@marklouisspark no worries for me. I've been always down with waiting for a great WH content. I have not read about the timeframe needed to create the part 2 but considering how long it took Astartes which is one i'm also waiting for the release of part 5, it is something that doesn't even bother me anymore.
Don't be offended of what i said, i myself do a bit of animation in games as i do modding. A simple custom reload for animations will took you quite a while to finish it especially plus the fixes. It took me quite a good amount time to be able to integrate it in the games as I'm not an IT graduate or anything related whatsoever.
Impressiv
Might wanna invest in a mechanical pencil. .05 with a B lead
