Orphnaecus philippinus. Never ever seen a video on thos one from you. So perhaps its rarer that all the others in the US
T. seladonia is one of the most beautiful animals I've ever seen. That tiny little threat pose was too adorable.
That brazilian jewel completely changed my attitude towards tarantulas it made me want to get one
The one I would want from this list is the Orange Earth Tiger for sure!!
Yes!!! Me too!
@@nanixoo5044 ornithoctoninae sp. orange violet and ornithoctoninae sp. hon sej are the same species.
Same
Whenever there is a very species available chances are that wild caught which sucks because it's never good to wild catch animals
Every species in captivity where wild caught as some point or another. Wild caught animals are perfectly fine providing its regulated and they are not over collected. Infact will caught specimens are useful to captive populations as it introduces fresh bloodlines into the captive population and reduces inbreeding. Captive populations can then be reintroduced into wild if necessary.
I've they are collected responsibly & not sold as pets, used to produce captive farmed then captive bred, I think that's ok xx
That's the moral issue in the hobby. Because without wild caught Ts, we won't have new Ts available for keeping...
Damn! Tarantulas are expensive in the US. You can get some of these in the UK for a fraction of the price. For instance a seledonia spiderling would set you back maybe £75 and a chilobrachys electric blue about £20/25. I guess there is far more keepers in the US and a few egg sacs of a rare species in the UK would probably satisfy the demand for the whole country.
Yeah I noticed this, I'm fairly sure the spider shop had Brazilian jewel slings for around £90 a few weeks ago, unfortunately I couldn't justify the spend on a 1cm sling otherwise I would've snapped one up.
i think its mainly legal stuff that keeps the species count low over here... plus i don't think alot survive the journey as well ...there maybe a shipment of100 of a certain species and maybe 20 or 30 will make it to a keeper
When there is a new species that was discovered people immediately start collecting them before hey they become a protected species
Tbh the people who collect T's are their primary protectors. Most of these species are bred safely in captivity whereas in the wild chances of successfully reproducing are slim.
In a way its actually helping to preserve the species, as long as said collector knows what they are doing and isn't an amateur.
Even though all tarantula species wah wild caught at some point I think we should have licenses that make it legal for some people to capture them and breen them to make Captain bread specimens that's just my opinion what do you guys think??
I like captain bread, it makes good sanmmichs.
@@jenburkholder6541 yes i want a captain bread one
Hi Richard... Can you make a top 10 list for the fast growing tarantulas?
Time to hide my bank card... Got a feeling I'm going to like some of these Ts
(hubby will kill me if I buy anymore 😂)
I just purchased a juvenile poecilotheria regalis,my husband is gonna kill me for sure😂
@@Flor_Serrano aww I'm so jealous my hubby will definitely not let me have one of those. I'm not allowed pokies or baboons ... Think I might divorce him. Who needs that negatively 😂😂
@@laurenlittlerock6533 yeah, divorce him for sure lol, mine don't really like the t's or interest him,but he sometimes watches feeding and rehousing so it's nice
@@Flor_Serrano I guess I have the opposite problem. You girls need to teach my wife she likes watching me but is still intimidated by my old worlds.
Omg, me too! I'm up to 17 now, lol.
T. Seladonia has definitely come down a lot in price, there was spiderlings recently available in the uk from one of the main tarantula dealers here that were being sold for £95 or around $140 which isn't super cheap but they are still way too complicated for me to try keeping them especially with such specific housing requirements, i would always want my Ts comfort to be priority and I don't think i cpuld deliver on that with a T. Seladonia
I started using CZcams just for your videos. I watch them on my TV. You make the BEST videos.
Thanks so much Samuel
It took me forever to find a g pulchra sling. When I did find one it went for $80. I've seen them anywhere between $80 - $120
the little threat pose from the T.seladonia was absolutely adorable lol
The Colombian bumblebee is gorgeous! It's the only one on this list I didn't know about before. :)
Has since been reclssified as Neoholothele fascia aurinigria
I love my X intermedia, his(?) Iittle threat pose makes me giggle 😂
Happy Tarantula Tuesday 🥰🥰
happy tarantula tuesday to you!
In my country its easier to get seladonia then desert blonde, which i really want and havent seen for sale at all.
Lets trade. The desert blondes are plentiful in the US 😁
I have a couple of females let's trade?
Was stoked to see the T. seladonia top of the list! 🕷
i've been trying to watch these videos to desensitize myself to bigger spiders, i find them so interesting but they just spook me. the valhalla one looks massive 😵💫
Number one is my holy grail! They weren't even available when I was active in the hobby.
Love you richard, your videos are AWESOME 🕷🕷💟💟💟
I have been loving your channel. I have been severely arachnophobic my whole life and about 3 months ago I got tired of it so I started keeping various jumping spiders. About a month ago I got a young wolf spider. 2 days ago I held my first tarantula, a young Grammostola pulchripes, and purchased a Hapalopus sp. Columbia spiderling as my first T.
Thanks for helping keep me encouraged in my quest to get rid of my arachnophobia.
All of the jumping spiders here in Canada are incredibly tiny. Are there breeders that sell bigger jumping spiders like those that are about an inch in size?
@@VrejHAI yes there are. Unfortunately I am completely ignorant of Canadian import laws. I can tell you two species to look for though. Phiddipus regius (Regal jumper) and the Phiddipus audax (bold jumper). Both are great spiders with good temperaments and can get to a fair size, especially the females. Wish I could be of more help but I am only familiar with US shops and laws.
@@christophermccurry8039 thank you, I'll look them up
Haha u got the bug my friend ❤
@@gonnabeayogi1445 got that right. As of 2 weeks ago I am up to 18 tarantulas and hope to do my first breeding project this year.
The Brazilian Jewel moves in such a hilarious and adorable way. I’ve never seen a spider walk like that!
It walks like a robot 😂
Or like a cartoon character
Always love your content. My two new additions in my collection I bought, because I saw them on your channel
I had no idea the "electric blue" was a rarer one. I am so pleased with mine. It is still small. Birupes here is 300$ Canadian for a one inch unsexed that I am tempted to get. I am a sucker for blue tarantulas.
Mine has been pretty cool. She is about 1.5” maybe 2.25” at this point. She has webbed up the entire sabertooth scull I’ve put in her enclosure. She sits at the front with those bright blue legs hanging out every night.
Maaaaaaannn you are killin it with these vids+music. Really makes my day, Richard.
Loving learning and left my spiders fear behind with your videos, just amazing how much you put on this work and effort to make a good video 👏👏❤❤❤
Very cooool video! These Ts are stunning and it's very hard to choose my favorite... but I can say the Typhochlaena seladonia is the one who catches my attention more than the others. Thank you for posting and sharing!!!! Amazing youtuber! 🤩
Thank you for sharing this info
Gotta love Trantula Tuesday....keep making the vids guy your doing an awesome Job!
Some beautiful tarantulas there Richard, thank you for putting this together, kind regards, Joanne 🐺
I love your videos !
I have the Aphonopelma mooreae. I've had it for about 2 years now and it's barely 1 in. They are extremely slow growers! I bought it as a sling from fear not tarantulas for $350.
Well, yours has probably appreciated in value as they are still awful pricey. Hopefully it's a female.
Love your videos and the captioning so everyone can enjoy them!! Thank You Richard!!
I do my best to get captioning on all my videos, sometimes even subtitles in different languages but sometimes it is difficult and takes a little time. I'm glad you find them useful.
Beautiful video man
Fan from Ph! As always very good quality video! Rockon!
I’ve got 2 the jade fuego about 4 inches and a x.intermedia sling. I thought the P.Solaris was difficult to find and I finally have one that’s molted twice now. I was looking for her for a while. Waiting on a T.seladonia , . That was a great list though been checking for the lava also. Ty for your informative videos love them❤️🕷
You have made my day 😀😀😀
Wow, that Xenesthis sure was striking. I liked the A. mooreae too...
Dig the funk of that background track. Omg those spiders give my wallet the ichies, lol. That itty-bitty threat pose was the cutest!!!
That birupes somoroxigorum molting footage is great!
I think Pamphobeteus Solaris was a big one left out. Be great to see it included in a future episode but great video man!
Yeah i agree with u and its a real beauty XD
didnt saw ur comment first. But i thinked same as u. Greeds from Germany
Hello great video information Richard
Here in europe, some breeders sale T. Seladonia for 75 $, Birupes simoroxigorum between 40 and 60$,...
if you have the opportunity to visit the breeders meetings in Belgium, Germany or Holland, you will be surprised by the very low prices.
Brilliant video love from over the pond
Hey! I don't know if I'm missing it when looking through your uploads, but a video about PURPLE tarantula species would be awesome! 💜 :)
amazing video!
I own a T.seladonia but I never see her - she is always chilling behind her trapdoor 🙈😅 Any time I open the door to check on her, she would immediately put one leg out to close the door again 😂
Just found your channel! I'm typically a reptile person but I'm excited to learn more and maybe get into a new hobby....
Welcome aboard! It is great to have you! You should definately think about getting a pet tarantula...they are amazing! I actually have a playlist of videos just for people like yourself thinking about getting into the hobby, it is kind of a crash course on keeping tarantulas: czcams.com/play/PLjBrtja7Q8uj435GOoijmU_ZRphfcx6tg.html
@@tarantulacollective Oh wow, that's fantastic! Thank you!
I'm a reptile guy as well but since i found this channel I now own more T's than reptiles. Much love for both!
Same here. I got into inverts like 6 months ago, and it's honestly addicting. I have more inverts now than reptiles, since they're so much smaller and easier to keep
Edit: Still no Ts tho. I'm hoping to get one soon
Tarantulas are low-maintenance and can be cheap to acquire and care for -- give one a try.
I really like your top 5 videos but I havn't seen a Top 5 Hardest T's to keep? (keep in mind im a begginer so i would suspect the list would be fully OW but it would be interesting to see in your opinion which species you found to be the most difficult.
Brilliant video Richard all beautiful species ❤ ,but the one I'd love to add to my collection has to be, Chilean flame,I've been wanting one for a while now.
Although i dont watch ur channel as much anymore i still think ur one of my favourites
another awesome video
Hey Richard, great video, I’m surprised you didn’t mention the P Solaris and M mesomelas, they are quite expensive and hard to come by
and Xenesthis sp megascopula as well haha
The lava spider reminds me of a legend of zelda boss lol
7:25 Lol this music is also in a video game called CRSED. Idk if it’s by them or not but yeah.
I just found your channel and I like what I see! I've been in the hobby for years now, and I appreciate the professional quality of your videos. Many of the channels in this space feel homemade, and yours are as professional as they come. Happily subscribed.
Thanks a lot David. It has been a journey...if you go back to my first videos they definitely have that homemade feel...I was filming handheld with my phone. But I try to learn something new every day and practice a different skill in every video, whether it is editing, sound engineering, color grading, or just how to use a camera so hopefully each video is a little better than the last.
@@tarantulacollective Orphnaecus philippinus. Why no video on this one. Im dying to see one on this beauty.....are they nonexistant in the US
I just got 2 Antilles Rickwesti from a pre-import order, I didn't 'just' find them, a dealer contacted me since he knows I like aviculariinae. They weren't too much $250 each, but definitely a rare find!
The T. seladonia is my ultimate wish list T but I want to become a lot more experienced first before getting one so I can give the best possible care. Here in the UK you can get a sling for about £95 so the price is dropping as a year and half ago they priced about £200 for a sling. That threat pose was the cutest thing I have ever seen 😍😍
At 45, I'm a little late getting into the "T life," but I'm so excited too. After extensive research, I have decided on starting with the C. Versicolor, although honestly, I want the Brazilian jewel.
I recently got to scoop up a theraphosinae sp panama sling!! I'm so happy!!
Most adorable threat pose ever!💜💚
I'm hankering to add a Aphonopelma mooreae to my small collection. But so slow growing. yikes.
Nice Video! Love Tarantula Tuesdays! Yes!
What beautiful tarantulas. Thank you for showing them to us.
GOD BLESS 🕷💖🕷💖🕷💖
What’s your opinion on Avicularia braunshauseni? There was some slings available in the uk recently but I don’t seem to hear anything about people keeping them
I have 3 of these, super awesome species
can you do a care video for grammostola iheringi (entre rios) I can't seem to find a good video on it
My s/o just got their T.seladonia yesterday and its adorable.
Wow some really gorgeous Ts here Richard ...
I have a xenesthis intermedia spiderling and can't wait for him/her to grow
I’ve given my electric blue sling tons of space to dig and burrow but it loooves being up top ! Just had it’s second molt in my ownership I assume it’s about 4 months old, this is also my first T ever but fear not did an amazing job setting me up.
New sub from nz. This video was great. Im slowly starting to not be scared. 😂
What a fresh breath of tarantula air!! Great video. I love Xenesthis tarantulas. I have a Intermedia and a , Megascopula. The tarantula that I want ,that I can't seem to find.Is the Amazon Sapphire pink toe tarantula.
I'm not sure if you have the Grammostola anthracina or Brazilian Giant Tawny Red in your collection but I know it's pretty rare to get one. I grabbed one from FNT in late March before they were gone. I can't find very much video or information on them but I just had to get it since it's hard to find.
finallyy u did the updateeee
how yall doin? good? cheers! fangs up yall!
Are u doing a video like this for the upcoming year ?
Managed to get my hands a Theraphosinae sp. Panama Last year and didn’t even know it was a rare species feel really privileged to have one super slow growers though still no adult coloration, keep up the great work Richard always watch your videos and listen to you podcasts on the way to work and back abs which feeding / cleaning enclosures 💪🏼🙂🤟🏻
May i ask you where you purchased the Panama?
Apparently, #2 is now known as Neoholothele fasciaaurinigra, the spider shoppe has them listed for $148 as 1 inch slings
I used to have a Theraphosinae Sp Colombia that I raised from a sling to adult and she was beautiful :)
Hey Richard can you do a video of your most hard to find in your collection
I would love a video on the Cyriopagopus sp. Hati Hati
-Purple Earth Tiger!
Hi Richard, I wanted to let you know your title page has tarantula misspelled.
Another incredible video, thank you for sharing your talent.
That teensy T Seladonia has the cutest threat pose I have ever seen!!
That T. Colombia and the T. Panama have got my attention alright, and of course the Aphonopelma Moorea
Finally managed to get ahold of a Hon-sej Orange earth tiger!
Hi richard. I wonder what song that u play at very beginning of this vid? I love that song btw 🔥😂
It is called Kermode by Tigerblood Jewel
I've only seen one A mooreae for sale, it's $450, but when I saw the same one at an expo from the same seller, it was $400.
Ornithoctoninae genus is my absolute favorite...I go nuts everytime I see one
Great presenting skills. 👍
What is the bornean blue leg doing in the burrow? Not seen that movement before.
Damn your editing is amazing.
Edit: I want the pink one.
What is the name of the company breeders that you get your spiders from. Thank you I enjoy watching your videos
Almost at 100,000 subs!
Almost got a electric blue but I am taking your advice and starting my collection slow
Hi Richard, I've just added 3 more tarantulas to my collection. I bought a mystery box and it contained two Avicularia juruensis m2 (ex Peru purple) slings and one Ornithoctoninae sp. Vietnam silver sling. That one gave me a threat pose as soon as I tried to move it into its new enclosure. But there is very little info about the care and husbandry. Can you help me out a little?
Thank you very much.
Greetings from the Netherlands
This is a great video- thanks- I'm wondering if any of these are endangered, or if the collectors represent any threat to the populations of the spiders-
I'm saving to get a T seladonia, I just love them.
They are getting easier to get here in UK but still pretty expensive xx
The spider shop has them for £95 for a sling atm 😁😁 I'm having to restrain myself 🤣🤣
Lol yeah a lot of money xx
The GBB is rare where I live, I was sad because I wanted one and I can't find any atm 🙁 Hopefully soon, I'm just gonna keep looking and searching
Where do you live? 😲 Here you get them at every corner. 😄
@@wanderwurst8358 South Africa
@@fluffythescary Oops, that's a bit off the beaten path, of course. In an emergency, try one of these Polish or UK spider shops. Some of them send worldwide and are much cheaper than the Americans- probably nobody in Germany does that because it is very uncertain whether the spiders will arrive alive. Apart from that, the market here is more private / scene. Greetings to the Cape.
@@wanderwurst8358 Thank you but I prefer getting mine local
@@fluffythescary Thats in all case the best way. I also prefer picking them up personally at the breeder or just send them a short distance. 😀👍
Haploclastus Devamatha is also significantly rare. It took me 4 years to find one and I spent 500 to buy it as a .75" sling.
From what I see online they're available on the east coast but not central northern or western US.
Fear not has them for $60
I remember commenting the name of orange earth tiger asking if you would do a video on it
Do you have any videos about Thai species? I'm looking to get a T but I live in Thailand and don't think I can order one from abroad... So I'll have to take a Thai species which aren't known to be good for beginners.. So I'm not sure which to choose.
