Guilty Crown Episode 15 - Hare's Death Impacts Shu

- A clip of Shu's reaction to Hare's death.
Shu's friend, Souta, gets Hare (who has stood by Shu's side the entire anime and who believed in him and gave him confidence) killed (right after her confession -- the death scene was very well done though -- she had been one of my favorite character from the beginning -- she went out like an angel doing what she does best -- being kind and selfless) by Shu's friends lying to him about training with their voids (which is why Shu punched the heck out of Souta's face). They made Shu become a monster and then they betrayed him because he became what they made him become themselves.
I do not own. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
I understand why Shu came to this conclusion after Hare's death. When it all comes down to it, he was kind and considerate of everyone, not wanting anyone to feel hurt or useless. He trusted those around him blindly and wanted to help. And in the end, this led to Souta and the others betraying him for their own benefits and being selfish by trying to pull off a vaccine heist with no experience. His giving them their voids to use allowed for that to happen, which then dragged Hare and Shu into the mix to save them from their own stupidity. And then Souta dragged Hare into the open and into the crossfire and got her killed. Clearly leading with a kind heart didn't cut it, and he was made leader to save lives, not to make people feel better about themselves. This is a logical conclusion to come to after the loss of his best friend. Had he been more cold-hearted and ruthless, Hare might still be alive, even if people hated him for his cold tactics.
There was a balance to be struck that he missed but Gai was able to hit. Gai when leading was able to maintain his compassion while also having the resolve to make tough, possibly unpopular decisions. He inspired people with a considerate yet firm hand. Shu, in his grief, just became a tyrant enabling corrupt thugs to do what they wanted as long as they were “useful.”
He could have implemented the ranking system while emphasizing that it was strictly temporary, and also outlined rules that forbade mistreatment due to ranking. If he really needed to use those thugs because of their voids, he at least could have assigned either overt or covert oversight monitors to ensure they didn’t abuse their power like they did.
Tyrant or not. Those guys needed to learn that this is what happens when you take advantage of people’s kindness. I never liked Souta in the beginning. He is extremely selfish
Honestly hare might've hated shuu but at least she would have been alive to hate him
Hes a weak skinny boy. This anime was trash
I love this scene so much because people will understand after watch this scene, if a good person can turn to evil easily just like that
I personally think the change happened too fast.
Try watch Arifureta
Hajime(MC) goes from "No Kill for life" to "My Enemy must be kill at all cost"😂
No Name Needed how exactly 😂 he did kinda get walked all over and when the first a real person who cared for him died he lost it.
Well i could have been satisfied if the MC was at least stronger, he let his darkside out yet his still weak
xɪᴇɴ ʜᴅ I agree 100% with the hating of his being weak
You know something gonna happen when anime characters have that dead eyes on
This scene makes me tear up because I understand how shu feels and he thinks she was the only person that understood and supported him and she died because he got her to fix the car.
She was the only person other than Inori in the whole series that understood him so no wonder he would rage like that.Like this scene was so sad cause Hare legit didnt want Shu to get hurt even though she was dieing herself.
No that means you are just like shu
You pathetic delusional middle school kid ! Stop being chuuni and grow up already !
If you are a mature person , you should feel disgusting about this scene ! WTF is "I'm going to become king" ? So cringe !
@eu8wy fhuiheruh lmfao I agree
eu8wy fhuiheruh lmfao at if you’re a mature person lol Their world is fucking insane and Shu felt like becoming “king” would allow him to create change. Power is essential to having influence
@@eu8wyfhuiheruh616 I must admit, I hate Shu Ouma because of this, yes, but I can understand why he becoming like that... When the girl that you love die in front of you, and the world is becoming like the world in Guilty Crown, I guess it's normal if he 'breaks' like that... And about 'Becoming a King', again, it's the world he lives that push him to become a king, a leader, a tyrant...
PS : I see now... You think the word 'understand', is the same as 'want to become' ? No... I still hate Shu, but I understand his reason to becoming like that... And I never ever want to become like him...
Basically, Hare's death had a hard impact on Shu, and he hates the world because of that... He 'must become a King', in order to change the world they live in (I guess in the world of Guilty Crown, only the people with power that can change the world)... or at least, that what Shu thought...
^ This, is why I said I understand him... But not because of this, that I admire him... Not in a chance... I still hate him, of what he is doing later...
I love his impressions on his face:)
I know! That face~~~ it's so awesome! :3
Hare: I will always be on your side Shu!
Died
Inory: I will always be your side Shu!
Died
His friends: betrayed Shu!
Alive
KEKW
inori is not dead her soul is inside shu LITERALY
its like serving a king.. if u r willing to be loyal with him u should die for his sake but if u dont serve a king probably ur safe and u live longer lol
You also gotta understand shu was talking it too far so they both were in the wrong
@@neos5432 ohhhhh first time i see someone who understand then end xD
Souta got punched in the face was really satisfying. Hare's death really felt undeserved, that's why it felt way more painful than Inori's death.
And what’s worse is that Shou had to watch Hare shatter into pieces right after she confessed her feelings to him. She died because Shotou wanted to play the hero.
Shu Ouma is the best when he is on his dark side gotta love good guys when they have their dark sides like Shu and Kaneki
I agree haha
True
@Migi I know isn't it cool? Lol I like them
shu is acually strong af with the sword
He just using It the wrong way 🗿🗿🗿
I'm really glad that I'm not the only one who thought that Hare's death was incredibly well-done. If only what followed had better writing...
Personally I think Shu's change was way too drastic to be believable
I thought the death was one of the worst written things I've ever seen personally.
@@nonameneeded2943 That was the point, you can see when he's alone with Inori that he's just pretending, deep down he's still the same insecure guy but he's playing the asshole part because he's convinced that being kind will lead to more pain
@Nhat Anh Hoang Well playing as the hero is exhausting sometimes but you do need power if you want try to be the villain
@@nonameneeded2943 I love you bro because of your way of thinking.
It just made me stop watching the anime from this part.
He is so annoying.! 😡
I never wanted a side character to pay for their mistakes so bad until I met Souta. The man had the audacity to betray Shu in the end. If he honestly felt remorse for Hare’s death then he wouldn’t have
And he was forgiven in the end...
Why would the anime act like Shu was the one who deserved to be betrayed by his friends? Sure he was kind of an ass to everyone, including Ayase. But he was still grieving over Hare’s death, which was Souta’s fault. He had no right to betray Shu like that after getting Hare killed. As for that blonde rich girl, she turned her back on her family, killed her own grandfather to be with a guy who wanted to destroy the world, or rule it. And he never loved her back.
@@samflood5631cause the others weren’t deserving of the punishment
@@ChaoticCreed The Punishment?
I actually much preferred Hare to Inori. Unlike most secondary love interests, Hare seemed to actually stand a chance of winning some romantic affection from Shu (if he didn’t already have any) judging by how he acted around her or responded whenever she confessed to him. I think part of him was at least just starting to realize how much she meant to him when she died. I think he could have grown to love her to a similar level to Inori had she lived, especially considering part of the reason he loved Inori was the fact that she always stood by him and believed in him, which is exactly the same reason he valued Hare so much. Hare was essentially his Lois and this was his Injustice moment.
Inori was kind of a blank slate who just went along with whatever Shu did (which is understandable since she was still learning to be human). Hare actually had moral convictions and offered Shu council while trying to understand his perspective. Had Shu turned to the dark side by any other means, I think she could have been a force to bring him back, rather than just silently enable him like Inori did. Plus Hare had the advantage in my book of _NOT_ being a literal clone of Shu’s biological sister, so there’s that.
Part of me does wonder how he would have navigated falling in love with two people to similar levels for similar reasons had Hare lived. But alas, poor Hare had to die for the progression of the plot, and she didn’t even get to touch his hand one last time (which really gets me).
Real asf. I agree
I'm just now realizing this is Eren's voice actor
and meliodas from 7ds, issei from highschool dxd, yuki kaji is one of the biggest male voice actors XD
A lot of people hate this anime because it’s actually not ur typical shonen anime where the characters r all unrealistic. Yuu’s reaction to Hare’s death was realistic especially after everything he’s gone through.
Wait this is shonen?
Oh no, that mean its not your typical
Her death wasn't realistic. It felt like a decision from the author rather than something that happened in the anime
"Eh, I'm pretty shu is just going through a phase and he'll be fine in a day..."
Little do they know...Shu, was not fine.
I bawled my eyes out and I never watched this anime before
Same xD
same here man
That punch scene.... when Production I.G. (the company who made this anime) made the biggest mistake by killing Hare off and took her away from Shu.
Yeahhh😭😭 i want hare back
Hareee :(
Well tbh, It was a very sad death but it doesn’t mean it was a mistake. Without her death, the anime wouldn’t have become as serious as it was and I believe it wouldn’t have been as engaging without her death. Probably one of the best written deaths ever tbh.
Ofc he made the right decision. He was so calm even in the most dangerous situations he was calm but there is a limit and it brockes him i love this scene
Came back to bust a tear
Like why did he act so surprised when he said “that’s right” 😭 like
Same Voice Actor to Eren
Same Protagonist and Antagonist
stop hating on Shuu, he's just a kid ... and that kid just lost the person who loves him the most, and when you lose that person, what kind of reaction are you going to make? like "oh ok"? nahh haha..
Blame Shota for getting Hare killed for his own idiotic desire to play the hero.
Man this moment gave me massive chills
I can't believe that this video is from 10 years ago.
When I watched this scene and I saw what souta caused, I was like "damn, found somebody I hate MORE than Sakura"
Still here to mourn for Hare 😔
This anime hurts my feelings. 😭

"What have I done?!"
hare is my favourite character in this series. she really deserves a happy ending.
Yuki Kaji voices acting is so good that it gives me goosebumps.
I hate that Ayase really got mad at Shu because he agreed that it was Souta’s fault. Which it was. He deserved to get punched. Souta is a selfish jerk
Being too kind just leads to suffering as shown with Shu
One of my fav scene
Damn! I dropped this episode 10, but I’m willing to pick it back up after this...
祭がなくなってからのギルクラは辛かった
2:30 "kindness is pointless" very fucking true
Not really, you can use kindness to make other people like you or give something in. But if we're talking about excessive kindness, then yeah, you're just asking to be exploited.
@@user-jy4sd9lk4m Shu is the epitome of that excessive kindness
Same I understand the way shy is going through
I watched this in both sub and dub and I find it weird that dub when they are talking says different things from what's being said in sub subtitles. Like shu at the end of this clip dubbed said they will get the leader they deserve but subbed subtitles said I will become king. I find that weird.
I' m going to become king.
In New Horizons, Yui goes crazy and tormented by the cause of Hiyori Harusaki's death but during this mission because Yuuki killed her. She could have gone mad but she cries (one was Riri Hitotsuyanagi) but until she avenges her to finish the job. Eustiana shocked Jun's hurt because she punched in Yui's anger and arrogance because. That Eustiana, Akira, Tomo, Hiyori and Jun she blamed and becoming a monster who causing the devoid of the Syndicate's orders and then they betrayed her.
this scene is 👌
well...shu was only normal student that just happen get a power...and that power bring him a great responsibility...so yeah...when regular person..or to be fact..regular student that not psychopath..but when his friend that follow him and trust him die...shu will broken..well all the regular student will broken..this only is friend..if his parent or loved one..i dont know what will happen
You really think Hare is just a friend to him? Lol
Guilty Crown- My Fav ANIME!!!!!!!
Gai my #1 character!
This is the turning point of the series... Edgy Shu is the real shit😎😎
Say what you will about this anime, but they definitely nailed character development. If only it had more space to properly get fleshed out, it would even be comparable to Code Geass.

The writers of this anime series from Production I.G, you guys made a BIG mistake... for killing off his girlfriend.. on this episode. 😱
Wasn’t his girlfriend, just a good friend who had a crush on him. But it is unclear if he ever fully developed any reciprocal romantic feelings towards her.

It was honestly really good... until after Hare’s death. Shu snapped, but he didn’t snap hard enough or long enough. I really wish his change in character had been far more thorough, brutal and permanent.
That would have just been him giving in to the destiny preordained for him by the cult.
What he said in the dubbed version is better.
Dub sucks
Dub sucks
Dub translates better in some scenes but I like the sub sometimes. They miss things when they translate it and they make it sound like something else.

He is indeed a rightful King.
@Nhat Anh Hoang he is strong.. :')
pathetic mc! it was really hard to finish watching this till the end, I don't understand why good animes always have to have trash mc's!! whereas the rest of the characters are much better & likable.
nah he's pretty realistic if you ask me, watching an anime with a realistic mc that isnt really that strong is nice for a change
