    In a situation like they were in, Shu did what he thought was necessary to save as many lives as possible. Had he babied them, they would never have organized fast enough to pull off a mission like that. Remember the reason why he was elected leader in the first place, it was because he could pull out voids and he told them he could use theirs to get them their freedom back. He was never elected to be kind and thoughtful, he was elected to get results, and Arisa and all the other would-be Kings were too indecisive or just too outright stupid. It's not like he didn't think his actions through, Shu knew they would hate him for pushing them to breaking point and his cruelty, but he accomplished what he set out to do, a task I doubt anybody else at the school could have pulled off.
    This betrayal scene was pure vindictiveness on behalf of the students involved, and Arisa like a true politician did fuck all to save anybody, let Shu do all the heavy lifting, and when given the opportunity to usurp him when the work is done, she didn't even hesitate. The was no need to do what they did to Shu there, they could have run and be done with it all. But they planned ahead of time that once Shu had fulfilled his usefulness to them to either leave him behind or kill him. In short, it's like Hare said about the King in the storybook, the people loved what the king had given them but they hated him for it.

      Shu was bitter over the death of Hare and the burden put on him, and it consumed him because he wasn't given the chance to grow as a person. Gai, however, was ready to nuke the world if it meant saving Mana. Gai couldn't have saved mana if Japan was nuked because Inori was needed. Shu saw the world through opened eyes and hardened his resolve, regained the power of the void and there you go.

    This scene made no sense as a betrayal scene.
    FIrst of all, it was yahiro's fault for not telling shu that the void was the reason why ppl were dying
    Second, Souta was the reason he became "King"
    Third, He literally helped them get out using the voids

      I know this is late but, I legit sympathized with shu on this one when he got mad. They went ahead and decided on a "Supply mission" without telling shu or the other CAPABLE MEMBERS THAT WERE IN DOING MILITARY WORK, and got haru killed. I get the part where haru is for shu as an emotional support, but haru is a healer type. HEALER. they risked a healer to enter the frontlines. That's stupid as fuck. And shu can basically stay as a fighter while the students can decide on a form of governance. After all, teachers are still there, right? They can decide and form some sort of government. But nope, moron friends want to push the "King" thing to shu when he didn't want to. And they force him to be king again, after killing his only emotional support? Of course he'll snap, yet these dumbasses can still go in front of him and tell him that everything's his fault

    • @denysl5738
      @denysl5738 Před 4 lety +15

      This whole part doesn't make sense, at some degree it's Shu's fault for not knowing what others think about him. And trusting people that wanted to kill him, like this guy with glasses pointed a pistol at him and he kept trusting him. He first had to make sure that no one would betray him again but he didn't bother to and in the end all ended in the worst way possible.

    • @uenoyamakamishiro7646
      @uenoyamakamishiro7646 Před 4 lety +31

      Err, maybe because he's a teenager? a kid? He is not capable of being a ruler, and of course he'll mess up. Yet these morons instead force him into it. Its like being in an island and the strongest person in the island is a 14 year old that's black belt in karate. So they decide to make the 14 year old the ruler when the others are older, more mature, and far wiser.
      Its almost like a coward's way. Had they made shu focus in being a fighter alone and just began a government of their own, they can all survive. But no, force the immature, mental mess of a kid be a ruler, and blame him for how he didn't know to rule when he didn't want to rule in the first place.

    I am having some curiosity here. As Gai said before that Shu will lose his Void Power if he's killed, then why Gai only cut his right arm off to take the power ? And also after that, is Gai has 2 Void in both his arms ? Because he was able to pulled Inori's Void out means he has to have one.

    • @khoitong8131
      @khoitong8131 Před rokem +2

      Ill clarify basically the void power resides in one area which allows you to use it in such throughout the entire anime you see shu only being able to pull out voids using the hand with the mark no other body parts are able to do it. The answer to your second question gai didnt draw out inoris void using the void genom power gais void has the ability to forcefully bring out other peoples voids. If your wondering how he got his void out in the first place yu (other void genom user) drew it out for him to use.

      @khoitong8131 Před rokem +2

      @@atranvan6758 The answer to your question was answered in my reply incase you did not read it ill repeat it again. GAI WAS NOT THE ONE WHO DREW HIS OWN VOiD in the Guilty Crown series there are 3 void genom users yu gai and shu YU WAS THE ONE WHO DREW OUT GAI'S VOID. its just like when Gai originaly "died" Shu drew out his void for him to use in this case it was Yu who did it instead of Shu again. The answer to your last question Gai can't predict the future lol its easy for u to say as you know whats gonna happen in Gai's eyes Shu was like a little brother to him so he wanted to avoid killing him same with his old colleagues. Gai was simply only after the void genom power that he desired since episode one but Shu got it instead and him not wanting to kill shu or any of his colleagues resulted in him simply just removing his arm to obtain it.
